Great work and very friendly.

I paid to have all new molding caulked and ready to paint.I was left with broken molding,door locks in backwards,mismatched hinges and locks.The entire front entrance is so bad it needs total respecting and then caulked to close the half inch gap Joe left.He called Sunday and whined that you only caulk what you see By that logic he missed 60%>I guess his 38 years experience never taught him caulk heos keep air from getting in around door casings He rushed the job took his check and left.Didnt even sweep up the sawdust in the garage.I guess I shouldn't of paid for the caulking and nail filling since over half I'm doing myself.Now I have to call the kitchen place and tell them I won't allow him to touch my home again

Joe and Andrea did a terrific job with our wainscoting and crown molding. They were easy to work with and communicated well. We thought they provided a good value for the quality of work and we highly recommend JH Strain.

Joe does amazing, detailed, and exceptional work. He installed rail wainscot with inset moulding, Adam's casings, and decorative cross heads in my livingroom. The entire family and my guest loves it! Joe is very professional and a great person. I'm hiring him for future projects!

We wanted to update the baseboards in an addition to match the rest of the (100 year old) house and to fix a crooked mantle. The baseboards are beautiful and Joe came up with a clever way to support the mantle without making the correction look awkward. He supplied us with quarter round for finishing once the hardwood floor was installed. However the hardwood installer said the floor was insufficiently flat to perform the install. I was really panicked and distraught. I called Joe. He knew exactly what to do and managed to fit in the work within the week. Joe and his team were always on time and most professional. Wow! This was our first experience using Home Advisor – to say we are happy is an understatement.

Joe and his team replaced some rotting porch columns for me. They were prompt and professional. When the columns needed some adjustments after roof settling, they came out at no charge and performed the necessary work. The columns look perfect and I'm very happy the results. The price was very good considering the amount of time and the quality of work. I highly recommend J.H. Strain.

Mr. Strain replaced my porch railing and storm door and did an excellent job.

Joe was great to work with - he was honest about the work and the cost. No hidden surprises. He really went above and beyond replacing the railing around my front deck. He and his crew cleaned up thoroughly after the project - nothing for me to do but admire his work!

this contractor was hired to replace a 8' by 9' deck, and we got a 8' by 8'6" deck. there were some other small issues, so not entirely happy with the work performed
