+ -1 moreEstimator and office person that I dealt with were professional and courteous. The actual moving guys were efficient and did limited packing well [most packing done myself]. No problems with them. Problems occurred when estimates/advance payments/actual invoices did not match. I requested understandable copies of the documents. I contacted the office person who transferred me to a woman said to be in accounting. She never returned my phone calls. I feel that I was double charged for storage, a requested credit for an estimated item that I canceled was not given, and I was billed after the move for move-out from storage that was supposed to have been included in the overall phase two. I still do not have documents that I can understand. I worked with a relocation service for this move, and they are continuing to help me get understandable, accurate details of the charges. It has been a very time-consuming and frustration experience on top of the stress of moving.
Description of Work: Provide estimate and moving services from one-bedroom apartment in NYC to same in NJ to include phase one partial move to temporary storage and phase two from temporary storage and remaining personal effects in apartment to new apartment.

Description of Work: Liberty Movers were contracted to pack and move the furniture and items of personality from my home which was sold and into a new home. Since we were having work done in the new home, packed materials had to be moved into storage for delivery at a future date. On the day of the move they showed up in the appropriated size trunk, but without the proper number of movers as stated in the contract. As a result the move time was increased by 8-10 man hours, thus not completed on a timely basis. Additionally, the pricing was on the move not on hours. So the additional time did not cost any extra except for aggravation which was not needed. My other issue was in the final price. Before coming to a final price there was a an individual who came to the house, saw what had to packed and moved. The contracted price was based on this, plus a per box packing fee. Each box was tagged with a number from 1 on. When we began unpacking we noticed tags on small items which was put into a larger box and tagged again. Many boxes were inadequately packed. By this I mean the boxes were packed with more packing material than was needed to protect the packed items, ultimately resulting in additional charges. My wife and I felt we were given a low price on the move, then chargeed fees above and beyond the price contracted for. A bait and switch tactic. We would not reccomend Liberty Movers.

+ 0 moreI had a horrible experience. It was a franchisee. I don’t know if they were even franchisees or how that works, but they were associated with United Diamonds. They damaged a lot of things. I had to go after them for reimbursement and what I finally got was nothing compared to what they damaged. They damaged my hardwood floors and my furniture. Liberty Transportation Co is out of the Union area. They service New Jersey, but I think they are based out of the Union area. They handed over a broacher sort of thing to me stating that all the things would be wrapped in padding, but I have photographs of my furniture arriving at my house completely unwrapped and completely unprotected. I moved in stages. I moved out of my home, everything went into storage for few days, then it all moved into my garage because my house was under renovation and finally it got moved into the house. Their price was pretty comparable to everyone else. Their punctuality was fine. I would not use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I used the services of Liberty Transportation Co about a year ago for moving and storage.
