HARRINGTON MOVERS

They answered all of my questions as they came up prior to the move and were very accomodating. On the scheduled day of the move, due to a delay from the pick up prior to mine, the actual driver did not make it to my house. But so as not to inconvenience me, Harrington send their own truck and crew to pack and load me. They did a great job and could not have been more nice and professional. The driver arrived as planned to unload and i had a similar experience. A few things were broken but nothing of consequence and to be honest likely were from the box i unloaded. The only thing i cannot confirm yet is an additonal bill of $130. which i was sent but don't know what it is for. I debated whether to use an all inclusive price or go by the pound. i still can't say if i would have come out better price wise going the other way but at the end of the day, it was as expected. And my treasured Juke Box arrived without a scratch. I have recommmended them to two friends making the same move. One hired them and the other is just beginning the selection process. Just a note, i decided against United Van Lines who was the biggest i looked at because of the reviews. One review stood out to me. They said United was the most expensive estimate they took it because they thought they would get the best customer service and the best quality of the move. They said the experience was exactly the opposite. i decided to go with the little guy (Harrington) and was very glad i did.

We chose Harrington Movers because of good reviews, good certifications, and a good BBB rating. They were also good on the phone. But the guys who moved us where some of the worst we've ever had. In particular... 1) They brought no tools whatsoever, so they couldn't take apart furniture.Nor did they seem interested in taking apart furniture. As a result, our heavy dining table in particular is quite wobbly from the rough handling. All previous movers had taken it apart first. 2) They were careless, and ended up scraping the hardwood floor in the living room. They said that we were supposed to buy insurance in advance to cover that. 3) When they unloaded boxes in the basement, they put large and heavy boxes on top of smaller, lighter ones. As a result, those lower boxes got crushed. 4) They had no clue how to take off bannisters or doors (and had no equipment anyway). 5) They moved the furniture unwrapped into the truck then wrapped it in the truck. As a result, furniture hit walls and doors on the way out. 6) They borrowed my landlord's tool to detach the gas dryer, but seemed to take guesses on what to detach and how to reattach hoses. It honestly frightened me. These guys just didn't seem to care about the quality of our furniture as they moved it. And they seemed to have little experience when it came to anything other than living heavy things. As a result, the furniture and our house were in worse condition once we arrived.

They dismantled all of the tables and then could not get them set up properly. They have been in a basement since then because we cannot figure out how to get them back together. Portions of our furniture have never been the same. This was not a good job at all.
