 + -1 moreThe locksmith came out for an estimate, promised a quote would be given. It will be a week tomorrow and no quote has been received despite another promise of one over the phone. Pretty sure they did not expect a black family to answer the door but our money is just as good.
Description of Work: Needed a handle on a security door, and had another job on another security door if we liked their work.

 + -1 morePepy came by at the agreed time to install my lock on the door. He let me watch as he worked so maybe I could pick up a thing or two, which definitely happened. He even made me a few extra keys for the door, free of charge.
Description of Work: Came over to assess my front door and provide options for what I could do with it. I had an older door with a mortice lock. We agreed on an option and scheduled a date the following week to have it installed.

Description of Work: On March 25, 2013 I searched Angie"s list for a locksmith for the installation of a number of replacement locks at my home. I decided on Shaw's Lock and sent them an email requesting information relative to this installation. As of today April 10, 2013) I have not had the courtesey of a response. If the information I requested was not available or not provided via email I would expect a professional service organization to reply to the extent possible to a request from a potential customer. If this is the way this company treats potential clients, I have to assume that paying customers are treated in a similiar fashion.

Description of Work: The Lock on the front door was loose and it was difficult to close and lock the door securely. The technician arrived on time and took the lock apart and was able to repair. The door now closes and locks securely.

 + -1 moreBeing new home owners, making stressful late night deliveries we locked ourselves out of our new home. :-) They responded and were able to get us in without an issue. They also replaced the cylinders in our doors. Very easy to work with on site and schedule work to be done.
Description of Work: We were locked out of our newly purchased home, they got us in quick. Later they changed out the cylinders in our locks.

 + -1 moreWe had gotten locked out because one of the locks had broken; so even though we had the key, we got locked out. It wasn't an emergency but it felt like an emergency; but I think it is a routine for them. They were very calm and got us in and rekeyed. They brought enough keys for us and for them it was probably a routine, but in my family it would have been a big structural situation. They really kind of toned it down for us. We were in the process of moving; so they come the next business day. We didn't have to call them overnight or anything.
Description of Work: We used Shaw's Lock & Door for our locksmith needs and the last time they were out was in August. They rekeyed our locks because we got new locks on our doors when we moved in.
