LUCKY CHARM HOUSE CLEANING SVC

my sister and i bought our mom a package of cleanings as a gift in 2016. i spoke to the owner, terry bardossas, and we agreed on the everything in advance. we paid $750 for 8 cleanings for 4 hrs each from 9-noon every 2 weeks on a tue, and he said we must supply ALL cleaning products including fluids and brooms and mops, which i agreed to. and we prepaid by check i explained to terry that my mom had early senile dementia (i am a physician), and so might initially reject his services, but that with some persistence and patience and understanding, it would be fine. he agreed, and said "i know what you are talking about, i have a lot of elderly customers, i am fine dealing with older, confused people" we called to schedule the first cleaning, and i had my friend cherie be at my mom's house because as i warned terry she might reject the service. sure enough, she did, so we had the cleaning crew clean cherie's house instead, since they said that we would be charged for 1 cleaning, whether we used it or not after a few months we finally convinced my mom to accept help, partially because her arthritis got worse, and she turned 83, so could not take care of the house and my dad (who is 93) herself. then she called Lucky Charm, my dad called, my sisters both called, i called, i emailed terry, and he always either said he was "busy" once we told him who we were, or said he would call back (and never did), or just hung up the phone on us, or doesn't answer the phone clearly, this man is a crook, and is trying to keep our $750 and only provide 1 cleaning, not 8. he is also a jerk, as what kind of guy would take advantage of a 83-year-old woman with early Alzheimer's? one of my sisters is a lawyer, and must now sue him to recover our $. but you should NOT use this company, as they are NOT reputable, and the owner Terry Bardossa is UNETHICAL

We used them for years and years. His demeanor was not that great. He is very rude. The thing that really broke the camel's back was, one of his cleaning ladies took jewelry out of the bedroom, thinking it was a gift for her, and took it home, with clothes. She thought there was a suitcase that was for her with clothes and jewelry in it and she took it home. We used them up until about two or three months ago and then we fired him. We got the clothing and the jewelry back, but we just didn't like the way he handled the whole situation with his girl. He was competitive, but he wasn't cheap. Quality was good. They did what we wanted them to do. It was really just the way he treated his customers.

After our last cleaning service on April 24, 2012 we discovered that various pots and pans were left our convection oven as storage. Not only were those items left there but a plastic microwave cover (to put over foods so they don't splatter) was as well. We don't look in our oven before we turn it on to pre-heat it. When I went to put the food in, I noticed that pots and pans were in there along with the melted microwave oven food cover. I contacted the owner of Lucky Charm, Terry, and he contacted the cleaning woman. He then called us back and told us that she said she didn't place the items there. Well, guess what, I didn't place those items there and neither did my husband, who does very little cooking but often heats up leftovers in the microwave. We do not have children. It was very clear that Terry was covering for his employee rather than take responsibility for this mistake. He could have offered to pay for the cover (approx $12.00), apologize, and we would have been ok with this. Since he covered up for his actions, I decided to terminate his services. He assured me that this would "never happen again". How can this "never happen again" when he denies it was their responsibility in the first place. To make matters worse, we asked him to return the key to our apartment. He indicated that he would do so. After two weeks, we still hadn't received the key back. My husband threatened to call the police. Terry called me back and said he does not have to give the key back. He said he was not required to do so and would only do it as a courtesy. He left his business address as to where I could pick it up. Whenever I tried calling to say I was going to come by, his machine picked up and I left messages. He never returned them. Finally, I just had the lock changed. I would never recommend that anyone use Lucky Charm Cleaning in the future.
