Met with two men who came to the apartment to take a look for the cost estimate. While at the apartment, they appeared enthusiastic and ready to take on the job. Then I guess they didn't need the job as they disappeared - I never heard back from them again, and they ignored my multiple requests to get an estimate.

J&B Renovations are top notch. It was a pleasure to work with Mr Lopez and his team. They are knowledgeable and professional and go out of their way to be helpful. When Mr. Lopez first came by to see the bathroom, even before he estimated the cost, he and I spent a good half hour talking about how he could make my ideas work. I very much appreciated his time and insights. During the renovation, there were moments when unexpected glitches arose, but Mr. Lopez always discussed them with me to see how we could correct them. And he always had the best solution. He is a perfectionist who doesn't hesitate to take the time needed to to make things just right. He transformed my bathroom from boring into total "Wow!" I do not hesitate to say that J&B is the best contractor I've ever worked with. I would most definitely work with them again.

We hired Eduardo for remodeling of the kitchen in our new house. He has been extremely helpful throughout the process. He is always on time, his work is very clean and his pricing is fair. We felt that he was always on our side trying for us to save money by providing smart solutions. For example, he did a spectacular job of reusing our existing granit countertop (which was top of the line), while we changed pretty much everything else in the kitchen. Everyone else said this couldn’t be done. The result was impressive.

I am 100% pleased with J&B Renovations quality of work and professionalism. Very knowledgeable and quick. I always recommend to friends and hire for big and small jobs. Punctual and dependable every time. Thanks again!

Eduardo does excellent work and is a talented designer. He understood our vision for the kitchen and was able to help me express that to the Lowe's design rep who worked with us. He explained all the steps in the process to me, which was more complex then I knew. He & and his team installed custom cabinets from Lowes and the backsplash, as well as removal and replacement of the old backspash in back of the old cabinets. He painted the old cabinets to match the new installed ones, and finished the job once the granite counter tops were installed. He also created custom pull-out drawers for two very deep cabinets that were useless to me. His work was done perfectly and he and his team always cleaned up after they finished. I would definetly hire him again. His prices are honest and fair.

Eduardo and his assistant arrived on time. They wall mounted my TV and also installed an in-wall wiring kit which I provided. He adjusted a closet door that wouldn't close properly. He installed a reducer trim piece where my hardwood floor meets the kitchen tile. It was done perfectly. They also trimmed the end caps on my baseboard heater covers to fit properly. Ed and his assistant cleaned up after themselves. I'm very happy with their work. I'm going to use him again for future projects.

Overall, Eduardo did a very fine job in a reasonable amount of time and at a reasonable cost. He was easy to work with and had good procedures for getting the projects completed successfully. Also, he is reliable and someone we feel comfortable contacting again for future projects.

I saw good reviews on this contractor, decided to call him, Eduardo came on the day I called, gave me a verbal estimate of $15,000 to remodel a bathroom in the basement. I said I will text him my email address so he can send a detailed estimate, when I send the email address, he wrote “won’t be able to provide an estimate, usually what I do is send a text message stating I will be performing in your project & the pricing, I only provide contracts when both parties agree and are willing to sign it”. It’s disturbing that a contractor would find a text message is sufficient to perform major job & expect home owners to agree to it, meanwhile I have received 2 written detailed estimates from other contractors, I am afraid I can’t give positive review on this contractor

Eduardo did a great job. He transformed an old 1950's bathroom into a modern one. He and his helper (Nelson) were very punctual and showed up each day until the work was done. I would recommend him for your bathroom renovation.

My bathroom is in a brownstone apt that is over 100 years old, with original plumbing and plaster. It was in very bad shape, with crooked walls, and is very tiny. I got estimates from 3 contractors on Angies List. I chose J&B Renovations because the contactor gave the most thorough review of the condition of my bathroom. Rather than just throwing out a number, he gave me suggestions, options, and pointed out possible scenarious. He seemed very interested in getting the job done right, as well as getting it done in a timely manner. He visited twice before giving me an estimate based on my preferences. He coordinated with my plumber and electrician to pull the proper permits, and the demo began. There were challenges to the renovation the first day. The demo revealed ancient plumbing issues (in the common area of the building) that had to be dealt with, as well as electrical issues dating back to when the gas lighting was converted to electricity. This delayed Eduardo by more than 2 weeks, but he was patient and helpful all along the way. When we finally got to the asthetics of finishing the bathroom, Eduardo was patient and flexible. At heart, he is a perfectionist, and if something can be improved, he goes for it. And if something won't work, he patiently explains why not. For a little extra, he custom sized a shower cubby and added soundproofing insulation in the interior walls. (I HIGHLY recommend the soundproofing if your apartment is small. It is works out great when one has to get up early and the other is still sleeping) His tile work is exeptional. He gave alot of thought about the best way to lay the tile out. There are alot of corners and edges in my tiny bathroom, and he worked them all out beautifully. He also solved the problem of tiling around a window that was not centered on the wall. Visually, everything looks balanced. Two of my neighbors have inspected my bathroom and plan to use J&B Renovations for their own renovations. I highly recommend this company and plan to use them again for my kitchen.

He did work for me twice. First time was an A and second time out was B. Felt price was to high. I feel secure doing any work through Angie's list.

Fixed Drywall in ceiling and paint. Work was done on time and within estimate.

All work was done to my satisfaction and he was punctual and communicative throughout the process. I plan to continue to use them in the future and have already recommended to others.

To say I was highly disappointed is an understatement. JandB was quick to contact me by email once I purchased the handyman service. I sent him a list of repairs I wanted him to take care. He informed me that electric (ie, hanging a light fixture and replacing a thermostat) were not included in the package I bought. I would suggest that this be explained before the point of purchase. Regardless, I had enough tasks to fill an 8-hour day. Since it was up to me to purchase the items needed for repair, I needed guidance. He asked that I send some pictures to his smart phone. This is where things fell apart. I was not able to send him pictures immediately. After about a week, he contacted me, canceled our contract and directed me to get a refund from Angie's List. The reason he gave me was that he usually does not do work in my area. If that was the reason; he should have never accepted the work. I asked him to please honor our contract since I had already purchased his services with the understanding that I would not be able to use him in the future. He never responded.

Professional and responsive. I will hire him again.
