+ -1 moreThey were very interesting. They were good and did a very nice job. They were actually in the area and literally knocked on everybody's door and asked them if they needed any work done. They had the equipment and everything already here so they gave me a really good price. They did a really nice job and then they came back to do the filling a couple of months later. They are very personable. They started at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, we had to go out, but I think they were finished like around 7:30. For what they did with my driveway I think their price was very fair.

Description of Work: They overlayed my asphalt driveway which required removing a tree root which had pushed up through asphalt.

+ -1 moreThe job done by the Stewart Paving Company was done with very sound, very professional and proven techniques by a very conscientious and skilled crew who really know what they are doing. They all worked quickly but thoroughly as a great team with each member of the crew working together like a well oiled machine. After the roots of the oak tree were removed from the driveway the void created to do so was refilled with gravel and hot asphalt and thoroughly tamped down and rolled with a heavy rolling machine to create a solid base for the top coat which was a minimum of 2 and 1/2 inches of the hot asphalt. It was systematically poured into place down our driveway and raked evenly and flat in preparation for the heavy duty rolling machine to complete the final steps of the building of the new asphalt driveway. It was a beautiful job. The neighbors were all coming over to admire the great looking and very professional job done by these guys. The edge of the driveway was straight and the top surface was flat and gently arched down the hill of our property. In fact, my next door neighbor was so impressed with their work that she had Stewart Paving do her driveway also. My wife and I are very happy with the job that they did for us and we are convinced that our new driveway will stay beautiful and "solid" for many, many years.
Description of Work: We desperately needed a new asphalt driveway for our home for years. The existing one was installed back in the early 1960's. One could describe it's condition as almost pitaful. Roots from an adjacent seven story high oak tree were lifting up the old and cracking asphalt as much as four inches in many places of our old pavement. In six other sections cracks had developed. In two areas the surface of the driveway had sunk in about six inches below the original level. Needless to say, using a snow blower was virtually impossible, often causing the safety pin on the blades of the blower to break when they hit the various uneven surfaces of the driveway. The solution to this mess was a challenge. Stewart Paving recognized the problems immediately and explained, very thoroughly, the proper or best solutions solutions that his company could do for us to properly rebuild a sound, strong, and beautiful "new" driveway. The troublesome roots of the tree were removed. A line was stretched from the street to our garage and used to to mark and, then,cut back the expanded turf of 50 years about a half a foot or so as to make a straight line for his crew use to install the new driveway. Also,as an added professional touch to enhance the very professional,flat, and beautiful job they did on our new driveway, the crew cleaned the adjacent masonry blocks along the driveway with a special solution to create a beautiful clean border along the driveway edge.

Description of Work: OWNERS WHO WERE BROTHERS WERE DOING DRIVEWAYS IN THE AREA WHEN THEY WENT AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD LOOKING FOR MORE WORK WHILE THEY HAD ALL THEIR EQUIPPMENT IN THE AREA. THEY REDUCED THE PRICE SINCE THEY WERE ALREADY IN THE AREA AND THE BEST PART WAS THAT THEY DID NOT WANT ANY FRONT MONEY. YOU PAID WHEN THE JOB WAS DONE AND TO YOUR SATISFACTION. AFTER I DID MINE, SEVEN MORE OWNERS HAD THEIR DRIVEWAYS DONE. BOTH BROTHERS ARE HUSTLERS IN THAT THEY WANTED TO WORK.

+ -1 moreProvided an excellent quality job with attention to detail on every aspect of job from trimming back of overhanging shrubs, edge alignment and finishing, Also checked and verified that drainage from driveway was optimal and that lawn sprinkler heads were functioning. When complete, cleaned up thoroughly. Very professional and courteous. In the last week they have done multiple jobs in this neighborhood.
Description of Work: Trimmed back overhanging shrubs, and paved entire driveway (approximately 16 x 45 feet) over existing base and then applied oil based sealer coat.

+ -1 moreStewart Paving had been hired by my next door neighbor to give her a new driveway. When Stewart Paving started paving her driveway a representative approached me about repaving mine. Although my driveway really, really needed it I didn't want to spend the money on it. The representative stated that since all the equipment was on the site he would give me a reduced price, which I found very satisfactory, They went right to work on my driveway when they finished my neighbors and did an excellent and thorough job from beginning to end. All though I didn't contract with them to fill in the concrete cracks around the foundation of my house, they did so at no extra charge. They were friendly and very pleasant to work with. I couldn't recommend more highly.
Description of Work: Removed existing pavement as needed for tight flush finish at cement to assume proper drainage. Applied vegetation killer where needed. Installed base coat of blacktop as needed in order to provide a strong foundation and level surface. Blacktop laid at approx. 2" thick. Removal of all excavated material from the job site.
