It went horrible, they never returned my phone call. In addition when I called a second time, they said they do not do small work like that at the current time. They referred me to someone else. This is not the first time that I have called this company. The past times they never responded to the inquiry. It seems like whoever is rated on Angies list doesn't return calls or flat out refuses to do the work!!

Antonio was always available to answer questions. Its always nerve wracking to have scaffolding and a team of people at your home, but team was courteous and hard working. They even removed their shoes when they came inside. There were some small aesthetic issues we ran into and Antonio was great at resolving them to our satisfaction. We love our new stone balconies and the stucco on the deck looks brand new. His prices were more than fair and very competitive. Would definitely use them again.

They did an awesome job. All of the workers were professional and courteous. The walkway flows beautifully with my patio. The workmanship is great.

Everything went great. From the day I first sent a message thru Angie's List for a quote, to the day the work was actually all finished was barely 3 weeks. They even threw in some extra work (like painting trim and correcting a crack in our siding that was all negligence from a previous contractor... just because they were there and could. Now that is A+ service. A Debenedetto Construction is one of the finest companies we have ever worked and we have dealt with a LOT of contractors over the past 4 years in Northern NJ. My only regret with hiring them is that I didn't know about Antonio and his crew 4 years ago!!! It would have probably saved us a LOT of money, time and aggravation. Thank you Antonio!!!

Antonio and his crew arrived exactly on time, they worked amazingly hard and fast completing all of the work in a 2 week time span in spite of some dramatic weather changes. They cleaned up after each workday and despite the magnitude of the work they were doing they tried very hard to keep my inconvenience to a minimum. The work is beautiful and changes the appearance of the house. I am very pleased with the company and the work and would definitely call them again if the need arises.

Antonio came by and walked through the estimate process with me- he took into account that I was a returning customer and reflected the loyalty into his price. He explained to me the steps his crew would need to take to make sure the job was done right and although I agreed to spend more then I originally planned, I knew I was making a sound investment and would get more then my moneys worth with the quality work these guys do. When they started demolition, they realized that my driveway actually had 3 layers of asphalt that required a lot more work then originally planned. Antonio is a true professional- he brought it to my attention but held to his quote. He visited the job site regularly to make sure everything was being done to his satisfaction. At the conclusion of the job, he saw a couple of things he wasn't satisfied with- items that weren't even included in the original quote and made sure his guys corrected it immediately even sending one of the guys to Home Depot for materials. Antonio is a class act and his guys are hard working craftsmen- hands down the best. The front of the house looks amazing- definitely brought new curb appeal and immediately got me a return on my investment. The patio in the back was top notch work with his paver guy making sure not only every stone was perfectly level but also symmetrically pleasing. Highly recommend these guys

It was an outstanding experience interacting with Antonio and have his company perform work for us. I had a number of other contractors come in to suggest a more complex solution for more money (basically suggesting that I first open up my house to more water just so they can add a sump pump to get it out). Antonio had suggested a much more practical route, keeping my wall intact and adding layers of protection against the water. His price was quite reasonable, his team arrived on time and did a professional job, clean-up afterwards was excellent and he had kept me well-informed throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend him for any type of masonry work !

A. Debenedetto and company is a most amazing outfit. On day one, we met Antonio, told him what we wanted to do, and he carefully walked us through the process, giving us the actual cost of the job right there on the spot. The crew was truly amazing. We had very customized work done in our front yard utilizing river stone and blue stone. The stone masons were true artists and created a look that is extremely unique and could never be repeated elsewhere. Everyone in the crew worked diligently and everything came out first rate. While his crew was still working on the front, we asked Anthony to take a look at our garage (I saw on his invoice that he did waterproofing). After examining the whole perimeter of the house and the areas that indicated dampness from water, Antonio came up with a waterproofing plan for us that we could not refuse because he was so thorough. The crew, once again, did an extraordinary job and we could not be happier with the results, both inside and out. Next year, we are planning an outdoor kitchen project. The only company I will trust with the job is A. Debenedetto. They are truly the BEST!!!!!

They were great! Accommodated my schedule and arrived timely. The employees were polite and worked hard. They understood my concerns and presented possible approaches, trying to work with our needs and budget.

The existing brick steps at the front of our 1920's house had started to crack and fall apart to the extent that bricks were fully coming loose and it was getting to be a liability. We had a few masons out to price up a full new walk way and stair, but the prices were all much higher than we wanted to spend. Anthony, from Debenedetto Construction, had priced up the full walk and stair similar to the other masons we had met with, but offered up a cost effective solution to fully replace the stair in its original location for a fraction of the cost. My parents had recently had their front stair replaced by Debenedetto and I saw the high quality of work, so that along with the cost saving solution made this a no brainer. They had the stair demolished and rebuilt within 2 days and left the area just as they found it.

Antonio came promptly on the day I asked him to come out for an estimate. He surveyed the situation, gave us some options, then figured costs out on the spot and gave us an estimate for everything, including the hand railings. When he returned the next week, his crew removed the bluestone that was covering the back steps only to discover that the concrete used to adhere them had disintegrated. He revised his estimate ( which was originally to repair everything) and gave us a new estimate to reface the stairs in brick, add 4 bluestone treads, complete the landing in bluestone, and bring the bottom step up to code. His team of masons were incredible. They completed everything in 2 days, leveling a good number of the 40 year old blue stones by lifting them, and adding QP under them. They even replaced a broken stone in the center of the patio where the previous owner had installed a long gone bird feeder. Finally they added the polymetric sand between all the stones. The steps look amazing, are now up to code, and I never have to worry about guests falling or tripping anywhere. My vintage bluestone patio looks so wonderful and clean I know we'll be spending more time out there this summer. Can't wait until the hand railings go on!!!:) I highly recommend this group. They aren't just workers; they are artisans who have a deep pride in what they do and that's what's missing with so many contractors these days. They worked diligently like a well oiled machine and were meticulous in cleaning everything.

DeBenedetto did a fabulous, gorgeous job. It really is stunning. Antonio has a great eye for design and detail. The workers were professional and probably the cleanest workplace crew I have ever had (and we have had a lot of large house projects completed in the last 3 years.) They showed up on time, worked full days and Antonio was on site regularly to supervise and adjust. Would hire them again in an instant. Added value to the homestead.

I love my new patio and my neighbors keep complimenting my front steps. Antonio Debenedetto is one of those rare "old school" people who really cares about what he is doing.

The only issue I had was getting the initial estimate done. They rarely answer their office phone, but do return the call if you leave a message. They also rescheduled the visit for the estimate a couple of times, although only to a day later. However, once I signed off on the estimate, the work was done within a couple of days. They did a great job, and the paving looks excellent.

Unquestionably, the best contractor I've ever worked with and for me that's saying a lot. I think the reason is because Antonio is not only a skilled and experienced craftsman but an excellent businessman. Go figure. What a combo. He won my business at a time when I had already contracted with a competitor, Here's why: the contractor I signed with wanted me to wait 8 weeks to get the work done only for me to find out that in that timeline was a 2-week shutdown of the company due to his summer vacation. Fortunately, I found Antonio D. He listened to me as a customer and he met every need and objective. While others attempt to dictate to the customer how they work, Antonio had a laser focus on winning my business and he never got hung up on any of the barriers other contractors raise for themselves that prevent them from getting the deal. Antonio's business is growing rapidly and his past customers wait patiently to get on his schedule because of the great work they do, but you'd never know it from talking with him because he fights for every customer. He is a waterproofing expert and his teams are tremendous craftsmen. Kind suggestion from someone who rarely writes reviews. Stop researching and get on the phone to Antonio. Great company to work with because they make it easy to do so and the end result is best-in-class at reasonable prices.

I cannot say enough about the job Antonio and his team did. We had a 30+ year old railroad tie retaining wall/steps around our entire driveway and 25+ year old brick front steps that were in need of replacement. We had multiple estimates and from the beginning, Antonio stood out. He was professional, courteous and helped my wife and I understand our options. To me that was one of the biggest differentiating factors for Antonio - its not often you undertake a project like this and so we had NO idea what we could even do. Antonio listened to us and helped come with a variety of solutions for our project. Antonio and his team worked over a two+ week period to take down the existing wall/steps and rebuilt the wall/steps with beautiful stone. They also tied everything in with pavers and were able to build a paver patio area to give us extra seating. I could not have been happier with Antonio and his team and would recommend them to anyone.

My wife and I heartily recommend Tony De Benedetto Masonry. We couldn’t be more pleased with his work and have been very much enjoying our new outdoor spaces. We had three sets of steps constructed, one older patio repaired, a second new patio installed, as well as stucco on our foundation and Belgian block curbing to create garden space and set off our driveway. Tony was extremely helpful to us as we talked out our project, working with us to provide attractive and functional solutions to fit our budget. His crew were exemplary workers, especially Manny, the foreman. They worked diligently every day and kept the worksite neat at the end of the day – several of our neighbors commented on how organized and neat they kept the site as they worked on the project. When a few surprises arose during the project, Tony described the extra necessary work and costs promptly and fairly. And despite a few of these surprises, the project was done within the timeframe he specified, so we could enjoy our new spaces for the Labor Day weekend. He worked well with town officials to secure initial permits and inspection approvals. Because of his high quality work and excellent customer service, he’s a busy guy! So, if you are planning a project, call him soon!

Project went well and was completed timely (within 2 days). Upon execution of contract was told that it would be a few weeks before they could start the job. However, an opening occurred sooner and they were able to perform the work weeks in advance of what they promised. The masonry work was done well and they carted away most of the debris. I would consider using them for future masonry projects.

It was a very big job and I had higher quotes from other companies to do the work. A.DeBenedetto Construction was recommended to me by my son who also had work done by them last year. Antonio DeBenedetto came out to do all the measuring himself. He is an extremely polite and courteous man, was very thorough in his estimate, discussed the work to be done, took his time to make sure everything I wanted him to do would be included in the estimate and was right on target with the price before he left to write up the contract. He and his crew did an excellent job and I am extremely pleased with the results of the work that was done. He was on the job site everyday to inspect and ensure that all details...big and small...were taken care of by his crew of men. Antonio DeBenedetto is very professional in his business dealings. The masonry work is beautiful and I would definitely recommend and hire A.DeBenedetto Construction again.

Actually Debenedetto was too busy to do the work before winter so they referred me to one of their friends, Jader Ferreira, who did the work. Everything was done exactly as explained, and to my complete satisfaction. Work was done timely and everything was cleaned up perfectly. Highly recommend them or anyone they refer you to
