About us

Welcome to Stone N Counters South, providing the best in stone counter fabrication. Choose your new countertop from breathtaking granite and rich marble. Our shop provides: * Hand Made Templates * Quality Installation * Stone Fabrication Our stone craftsmen offer the finest in: * Custom Design * Grain-Matching * Installation of granite or marble counters From approval to installation, your beautiful new countertop can be finished in 3 to 5 days. Different Types of Stone for Different Needs Granite: Granite is a naturally hard stone that comes from the earth. Each slab has its own pattern, whether variegated or more uniform, and each is truly unique. Streaked granite can be used to impart a sense of movement to a room. Granite can be dramatic and get much attention in a kitchen or bathroom. Different types of granite may need to be sealed every few years to retain its stain resistance. Quartz: These stones are typically 93% quartzite and 7% resin-epoxy. Because it is an engineered stone, it has a low porosity and therefore some anti microbial properties. Quartz comes in a wider variety of colors than granite and has patterns that are fairly consistent, so matching stones is never a problem. Because of its consistency, it will not detract as much attention from other "bling" elements in your kitchen. Marble: Marble is a softer stone and its natural inclusions can lend an ambience to its room. Marble is expressive, but not to the degree of some granites or quartzes. More porous than the other stones, it may be better suited to finishing a bathroom than the kitchen, and can require more maintenance than an engineered stone like quartz. This is not a Definitive List Each stone has its own individual characteristics. Please take the time to visit our showroom and walk with us through our stone yard. Your perfect countertop stone may reveal itself! If you have any questions about finish options, maintenance, or anything else, feel free to call Joan or Don (732)269-9600

Truth be told, we chose this company based on positive Angie's List reviews. What a mistake! We were seeking a white granite and visited Don at his warehouse. He did not have anything we were looking for but gave us a list of places we could search out stone. We found a beautiful supreme white quartzite at Elite Stone Importers, in Tinton Falls, N.J. ( Another company you should NOT use).. When I told Don we had found a quartzite we liked he said he would check it out and let me know if he did not like it. He told me I would need to sign off on it if he did not feel the stone was of good quality. During the process I repeatedly confirmed that the stone was acceptable. Not once was I asked to sign off on my choice. We have a large, busy family. I would never choose a high maintenance countertop.
It was not until they were finished installing it that Don told me the stone I chose was fragile and would need special care.Well that was an understatement. One week later the entire island was etched with lime juice from Corona Beer bottles. Don came out to try and sand it out but only made it worse. His solution was to hone it, aka. take the shine totally off. So basically my counters would be this beautiful shiny quartzite and my island would be this dull, yuk!.
My husband and I are so disappointed. At this point, we are living with the etched island.  Don, at Stone N Counter South is blaming Elite Stone Importers, who he said he spoke with about our situation. Chris, the owner of Elite Stone Importers states that he never spoke to Don and feels it is the fabricators responsibility to educate buyers on his stone.
Basically, they are two companies who lack integrity and have no clue on the meaning of honesty.
Response from Stone N Counters South LLC

"In response to this review, we at Stone n Counters are extremely upset and hurt. We had been in contact with [Member name removed] and were working with her to resolve her island stains. When she did not call us to complete the honing process, or talk about an alternative, we assumed she was content. This is the first negative review we have ever had, not only on Angie's List but in our existence as a business here in Bayville N.J. We can say this because our customers always communicate their concerns and issues until we resolve them to their satisfaction. If a customer doesn't give us the opportunity to do this, then it's really out of our hands. We do not heavily advertise, we rely on our customers to recommend our services, so our customer's satisfaction is always our priority. Now that it has come to our attention that the Zavallas are not happy with their island, we will reach out to them to try and resolve this matter."

Highly recommended. You can choose how much you want to pay with the range of selection within each grade. They came out on time to do the template and the best part is it was ready for installation the next week. No waiting around for weeks without a kitchen.  The manager from the store came with the installers which was impressive and made sure all was in order before he left.  Great service.

They did a good job.  They were very professional.  It was a little bit more money, but it was worth it.  They did an excellent job.  They were a little higher, but they did a little bit of things that the people didn't do.

The service was excellent. They made sure that the paint matched, they gave me a good price, they walked me through everything, and made sure I understood everything. From selection to installation took a week. They took me to the fabricators to pick out what I wanted, so, it was pretty good.

I will preface by saying that I have had some very bad experiences with contractors. While remodeling my recently deceased Father's apartment these experiences were exacerbated by the facts that there were limited funds, a mortgage bank that wanted to foreclose on the property that limited the time I had available to me to get the work done and the property was located far from where I live. These contractors would give me an estimate for services, work three quarters of the way through the job and stop working, cause other problems that would require more money to fix, start complaining that they did not charge me enough to finish and/or stop communicating all together.

I was referred by my contractor to a counter installer that they work with, drove out there to pick a counter and, though the counter company had said that they had sent prices to my contractor, I did not get the prices for over a week. After that the communication between the contractor, counter installer and myself stopped, despite my calls for urgency and transparency.

The bank, New buyer, lawyers and Realtor were on my back. Terribly frustrated, I took an entire day to research everyone on the internet that provided counters in the area of the apartment, calling, emailing asking questions, trying to get price estimates and attempting to find someone who could measure, cut and install the counters within my pressured time frame. Frustrated even more, I went to Angie's List to see if I could get things moving. Angie's List had Stone n Counters listed with an 'A' rating.

I called Stone n Counters, emailed my kitchen designs, scheduled an appointment with them and drove out to see them. They waited for me to show up, even though it was Mother's Day weekend and I was delayed by heavy traffic. We went over my email, what I wanted in counters and my kitchen design. I picked the counter slab, picked my edging and got a  price. I was very pleased with their no nonsense up front approach and that they were ready and willing to do the work quickly.  All I needed was for the kitchen sink to be installed.

I called my contractor as I left Stone N Counters, informed them that I had to go with another counter company, told them that my sink really needed to be installed so Stone N Counters would be able to measure and set up the sink install for Monday. Monday I called Stone N Counters to schedule the counter measurement for that Wednesday.

I was able to get to my Dad's place on Tuesday evening to check on the sink installation and found it had not been done. I contacted the contractor while in my Dad's apartment and asked what was happening with the sink and the contractor informed that the sink was installed and was waiting for the plumbing. I proceeded to explain that I was in the apartment staring at the sink still in its shipping box and that tomorrow, Wednesday, was the counter measuring appointment. They said they would come out and install the sink on Wednesday! I said I would see them there.

Wednesday morning I called Stone N Counters and explained my dilemma to them, asking if it would still be possible to get the measurements done later in the day. They called me back as I was on the road and said that they had an idea and asked for my contractor's number.  They called me back again, stating that they had spoken with my contractors and would meet the contractors and myself at the apartment.

While fraught with other challenges, the contractors did show up and install the sink, Stone N Counters did show up as promised to perform the measuring and get a template made as promised and the day eventually ended well with me one step closer to completing this project.

Stone N Counters called and said that the counters would be ready for install that Friday! They even worked out a difficult situation regarding the fact that my  Dad's building had no service elevator and that the main part of my counter would not fit in one piece into the existing elevator. Their guys showed up as promised on Friday, helped me move appliances and installed and fitted the counters beautifully without a noticeable seem to accommodate the small elevator.

The work was quality work. The price was not the least expensive that I had been quoted on that particular slab of granite, but it was not the most expensive either. Their professionalism, willingness to work with me especially with the issues I had with this project, time frame from start to finish of the job, personal attention to detail and me as a customer and overall transparency as to cost,  was exactly what I was looking for and appreciate in a contractor.  Nothing was hidden. Prices were not changed. There was no moaning and groaning about how the job was bigger than they thought.  Working with Stone N Counters was a completely refreshing experience.  I will always recommend them to anyone in the NJ area.

They measured on a Tuesday and it was installed by Thursday. You can't beat that. They were very professional and answered all our questions. We had some concerns about installing the new dishwasher and they told us what to do. Stay away from the big box home improvement stores for granite. Stick with the smaller family run businesses. You will not regret it. Plus..... we got a free sink with a coupon from Angies list.

Excellent service.  No appointment required, they had someone available and very willing to spend time with us selecting just the right color and size slab.  The woman we worked with had a great eye for matching our stone and cabinet colors.  They had extremely fast turnaround time, and worked easily with our schedule.  They gave us options for pricing (such as the option to template ourselves to save money if we wanted), and even gave us a sample to use to take with us shopping for tile.  The install was very fast, and they look really great.  We didn't use them when we did our kitchen counters several years ago, and I wish we had!  Highly recommend this company.

We went to a home show in a town close to us, we entered a sweepstakes, and we won a vanity countertop.  It was for the bathroom.  They called they said we won, to get in touch with them, and everything else.  Usually when you win something like that, there is a catch, there is an extra fee, or they do a shoddy job because it is free.  However, we got a call from Kathy there and she asked me when would we like to go down and pick out our granite and I was pleasantly surprised, and she said there were a lot of colors for us to choose from.  When we went there, there were a lot of colors; we picked the one we wanted.  They usually go with leftover pieces and that was fine.  We chose the countertop, they sent them in to do a template so it fit exactly and it is beautiful.  It is absolutely gorgeous and it ended up being completely free.  She helped us with picking the colors and it really, really looks nice; it is beautiful.  They did a totally professional job and it fit exactly.  They were down to earth.  They respected their reputation and the quality of their workmanship and the product would reflect on that.  They were an old-fashioned, do-the-job-right company.  The people were very nice, very cordial, and very friendly.  We had no problems and we were shocked especially because it was free.
