DMC came in and did all plumbing work for 3 apartment rehabs in an old building. A lot of plumbing issues came to light the more we uncovered about the building. DMC had smart solutions for every new painful challenge. They made my life easier. DMC is by FAR the best contractor I’ve ever worked with. They’re responsive, accommodating, intuitive, and are very eager to please clients. Extremely professional, communicative, and FAST. They do what they say and deliver on time. I strongly recommend them.
Description of Work: Water heaters, major plumbing install and repair, drains, toilets, showers, boilers, you name it.

Tech came, looked at the furnace, asked to borrow our manual for the boiler which he never returned. Said it was more complex than he could handle, and he would have to send someone else. This was on a Friday. The company then ducked all calls from me and from the warranty company from Friday afternoon until Monday afternoon. The next guy didn't come until TUESDAY (meanwhile, no heat and no hot water), assessed the boiler, and claimed that the reason it was not running was a sensor that was never installed. He further claimed that while the installer may have known a bypass code, he did not know of any, and claimed that a power outage must have reset the board, and that therefore I should call the installer. Meanwhile, this contractor - who was hired through American Home Shield - never communicated with the warranty company, thus tying their hands in terms of when they could reassign the job to someone else. I then spent several MORE hours in the cold, trying to find someone who could do the job. AHS finally assigned someone else - who arrived very punctually, took less than two hours to complete the job, and explained that the outage had nothing to do with the missing sensor (which we never needed) but was caused by a frayed ignition wire that was touching the case - a condition the prior tech could not find despite being a supposed expert. I suppose these guys might be good for very basic, simple work - but don't trust them with anything complex, and don't call them when you're desperate.

They're really great. We used them when we were in Hoboken. We no longer live in Hoboken. Their prices are fair. They are professional. They were good. These people do a good job for a good price. They did a good job installing the hot water heater.
Description of Work: I have experience with DMC Plumbing. 2013 was the first time and we used them again a year later to install a spigot for us. They also provided a hot water heater.

but The plumber that did my tankless water heater install passed away and the install was not completed. The purpose of this unit was to provide hot water for general use as well as hot water for the baseboard system. The initial visit by DMC was as scheduled on a Saturday and was performed by two plumbers. The first plumber showed up on time and was very courteous. He checked the installation and then after some conversation with me talked to his supervisor Dan who then showed up to check the install. Dan was patient and courteous and heard me out. Then he spent some time looking at the install and then both of them took pictures of the install. Dan then promised to get back to me on the following Monday. Monday came and went and I did not hear from him. I called three time during the course of the day but got no response. Each time the call was answered by the answering service. When I inquired with the answering service operator as to what are the company's normal operating hours I was told that they are running late today. Since it was a cold day I could understand that they must be very busy. So next day between 8-11 am I must have called at-least ten times and each time I got the same answer. I got fed up and then I called PSE&G and set up a service call. They scheduled their visit the next day in the afternoon and showed up on time and take care of my furnace problem promptly. I waited for the rest of the week to hear from DMC but I did not get any response. Then on Saturday Dan returned my the call on my landline as I left this number when I called DMC earlier that day. I was not sure of the person whom I was talking to and then Dan recollected that it was him who had visited my house and that he will get back to me by the end of the day. I told him that I wanted the worked to be done immediately if the price quoted was reasonable. So he promised to provide me with the numbers by the end of the day. I also told him that if he was not interested in doing this job all he had to do was let me know and I would look elsewhere. He assured me that I will have a reply by the end of day. Today is the fourth day past the promised date and still no call from DMC. The reason I approached this company is that they are close to my place of residence and also they are one of the APPROVED independent Installers for the Rheem tankless heaters. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. I called again and left message after penning this review and not posting it just wishing not to write any negative review but my patience is exhausted. I have even written this in my Service request on their web site yesterday but still no response.

DMC plumbing installed the tankless heating system in the house we bought in November this year. The owners at the time gave us their contacts expressing some doubt on the quality of the installation. As soon as we moved in we started having issues with the heating. One of the pump was not working properly and we never got over 65 in average in the house. We called them, had to call again, finally they set up an appointment. Replaced the pump, declared everything else was fine and invoiced us for it though the system was still under guarantee. The replacement of the pump did not solve the issue but they have ignored our calls and message since then. We are thinking of getting an attorney involved as the other member below. And in the meanwhile, we are still cold in our house. As said, beware.

Excellent responsiveness. Very informative and professional. Very knowledgeable. Took the time to explain, stood late to pin point problem. Was back next day on time to fix problem and tech stayed until all was fixed and running. Amazing work, and a relief since previous company and pretty much stolen our money for doing a drive by. I used DMC on several occasions because they were responsive, licensed and seemed professional. I was shocked when they completely walked away from a defective furnace that they installed. The furnace wasn't even four months old when it started acting up. DMC was very good about troubleshooting the problem however, when they couldn't find a fix, they all of a sudden ignored my calls and emails. They didn't even respond to my attorney's letter. As a result we are now in court. I am mainly disappointed because I have to replace a $3200 furnace and also because they seemed like a solid company. Their five year labor warranty means nothing. Beware

Installation went fairly smoothly as DMC was able to obtain the permits quickly (not always easy in Hoboken). The entire project took 3-visits with 1.5 full days of work. The team was diligent and hard working while answering all of my questions. There were a few times that they had to run and get a supply but I didn't mind because one guy would get the supply and another would just work on another part of the project. In the end, they did a great job of making the entire project look clean and stream-lined. Our stove's gas line had a small leak that I noticed after the first day. They came out the very next day and fixed it free of charge. And, even after payment, DMC has been great about answering any additional questions we have had regarding our new unit.
Description of Work: Installed a Navien T-creator in our small condo that accommodated both domestic and baseboard use. This involved removing the old tank and piping, drilling a hole through the back of our brownstone & cutting out a space for the new pipping through our kitchen floor and into the basement.

I contacted DMC as my furnace was making a mechanical sound and I was also considering having the thermocouple replaced. I contacted them as their site mentioned they also offer ongoing maintenance plans. When I spoke with them, I was pleasantly surprised to hear that they provide a no cost visit for providing estimates. I was also told that the technician will discuss maintenance plans options while they visit. The receptionist was prompt and efficient at scheduling an appointment and the technician arrived punctually. From this point on, the experienced changed to being a rather disappointing one. The technician did not have any clear answers or understanding of why the furnace was making a mechanical sound. Not only that, he could not even give me a estimate for even replacing the thermocouple on the furnace and told me he would call me back. So he told me that this was likely a motor issue and their rheem parts supplier is closed so he will get back to me with an estimate for both the thermocouple and mechanical noise repair on Monday (this visit was on Saturday). I waited a week and never heard back. I called the receptionist and she was apologetic and offered to track this down and call back. Didn't hear from them again for a few days so decided to change the thermocouple myself. I was still interested in getting the mechanical sound fixed so called them again and the receptionist gave me the price of $120+, which seemed very low for a motor change so i asked again what it was for. Turns out after all this tracking down, that was my estimate for replacing the thermocouple. I mentioned to her that I am also looking for pricing on the mechanical fix and she told me she would connect with the technician and get back to me. I haven't heard anything back and its been a month+ since the original appointment. To give them due credit, their receptionist staff is prompt. I'll even give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they just aren't interested in this job as it's a rheem furnace (they don't normally carry parts for it) or that particular technician wasn't very knowledgeable but I really wish they would just follow through and tell me that.
Description of Work: Scheduled an appointment to get an estimate for a mechanical noise coming from the furnace and interest in replacing the thermocouple. Receptionist and scheduling were extremely prompt, the technician showed up on time, but it's been over a month and I am still waiting for the estimate. Very poor follow through.

DMC did a great job installing the new hot water heater. They were very professional, answered all my questions (which I appreciated!) and cleaned everything up to the point it was like they were never here. I would highly recommend DMC and will use them again.
