CESAR BETANCURTH

I asked him to repair the base of two poles on the porch and to remove and re-screen eight basement windows. He said he could do all this work. He requested $300 in advanced as he needed to purchase material for the job. The window were $50. each. He sent a man to do the job. The porch column bases were not done properly. In fact, the "carpenter" did a lousy job. He was unable to remove the screens properly, so I told him to just pull them all out and not re-screen. Cesar arrived and I discussed the payment. Since he did not re-screen the basement windows there needed to be an adjustment of the price. Since (I thought) he owed me money I asked him to do the front door. He told me he need another $300. in advance. Stupid me, I gave him another check. The next day he did not arrive so I called him. Again, the next day I had to call him again. He said he would come that afternoon. I told him I needed an itemized bill for the work that was done and for the work still to be done. Again, he was a no show. I called him and told him I didn't want him to do the front door but requested that he bring the itemized bill and to give me the balance of work not performed. I called him for the next four days. He told me he was coming to bring the bill and to discuss the balance. He never showed. Finally, he stopped picking up my calls. Cesar Handyman Services or (he goes by two names) Cesar Betancurth is unreliable, does not do the work himself but sends someone unskilled to do the job. He is also cunning and easily walks away with your money for unfinished work. Would I recommend him - NO NO NO. Infact

We had asked him to fix a couple of things at home. Since it needed urgent attention, we even paid him part of it upfront (a huge mistake on our part). He agreed to come on the first weekend and not surprisingly, showed up late. He brought someone else to fix the issues. After waiting for him on a Saturday, he was not at all prepared to do the main job so we lost a Saturday. He promised to come back on the following Monday but never showed up. We repeatedly called him for the next week or so and he wouldn't pick up the phone. I finally called him from a different number and he picked up immediately. However, this pattern continued and now I've exhausted all numbers to call him and he is not returning my call. The bottom line is that he is unreliable, the work isn't that good, and does not have any expertise that he claims to have. I would stay away from him.

They left my job halfway through. He took $900 in advance, and the rest of the money was supposed to be payed at the end of the job. His workers showed up and started on the walls and ended up doing about 1/3 of the work, but that's it. He came in with another guy to do the electrical work but I had to pay him separately. I was left with no lights, flooring, or painting. I had to finish the job myself.

I was very satisfied with his same day service. He arrived on time. His price was very reasonable in comparison to other companies. I will definitely call him again for other needs around my home.
