119.00 was high compared to most competitors and couldnt be used toward repair. While serviceman was nice, he didnt realy look deeply into issues. He glanced at icemaker, noted frost and said i needed a new icemaker. With labor it was over $300. Turns out fill tube was blocked with ice and water line on back of fridge was cracked. Fixed myself with blow dryer and new tubing. He looked at interior of dishwasher only. Said it looked clean, sometimes dishwashers smell and to simply buy cleaner tabs. Turns out drain tube was installed incorrectly, backed up with food debris causing it to leak and create the odor. The cost wouldnt have been too bad had he done an actual diagnostic. A cursory “look-see” resulting in two wrong diagnoses was disappointing, to say the least.

The service man that came out did an amazing job. This was my first time using Angie's List and I am really impressed. I had called about 6 places as we are located in an office setting and no one was available to come out right away but PitStop did. Will be using the services of PitStop going forward.

It required two visits as two different parts turned out to need replacing. The machine started leaking again two days after the first visit. The repair technician would not remove the dryer and stacking kit--I had to get someone else to come in and do that before he returned to do the second repair, and then I had to bring someone in again to re-stack the dryer. While I understand that it takes more than one person to unstack and stack a dryer, I think the repair tech should have had a helper available instead of making me make the arrangements to bring someone else in twice.

The repairman diagnosed the problem as a faulty water sensor, but did not have the part with him to fix it. The part came in quickly and he repaired the machine. He explained everything in detail. I was happy with the service. I liked being able to schedule the appointment online.

Perfectly. We told him in advance what we needed and gave him the model number so he could order the parts and make only one visit. He has always been super-attentive to doing ONLY what's needed, and EXACTLY what's needed, to solve the problem at the LOWEST cost possible for a professional repair. He has certainly earned our trust (and our continued business). We are very grateful.

Went excellent, never had a more knowledgeable service person...arrived promptly, diagnosed dishwasher issue within minutes, Ordered part and repaired a few days later (again arriving promptly) quicker then I've ever seen a repair done once part arrived a few days later. My dishwasher is now running like new! On the dryer, he walked into my laundry room immediately diagnosed that there was a ventulation duct that needed clearing, not a repair by him. He was nice enough to not only honestly diagnose the issue which meant him receiving no further work, but gave a me a recommendation for a service company to clear the ventilation ducts for me. This was the most knowledgeable and professional repair person I have ever worked with...WOULD ABSOLUTELY HURE AGAIN!

Their online scheduling was easy to use. Able to see available appointments and schedule for the next day. They offer a 2 hour window (instead of competitors 5 hour window). The base charge for the service call was $79 which was $10 more than the competitor who had the 5-hour window for service. Competitor could not arrive for 3 days. Pitstop was able to come the day after my call. The technician arrived on time and was very professional. He explained they do all kinds of appliance repairs so I will keep their number for future needs.

After having a number of bad experiences with "factory authorized repair centers", I contacted Pitstop after reading a number of its reviews - figured it was worth a chance. The technician, Josh, called to advise me that he was stuck in traffic - and would be here shortly - and he also added "it sounds like an easy fix, so it will probably only take me five minutes" - he was wrong - it took seven! Josh was incredibly knowledgable and I felt extremely comfortable with him right from the start - after all, not everyone would even have the courtesy to call and say he is running late. In fact, he was only late front he original window by five minutes. Josh, as stated, made the preliminary repair - which is a stopgap - a part is needed. Pitstop has promised to send me a quote quickly - and once the part is ordered Josh will be back to install. I was incredibly pleased with Pitstop and would highly reccomend to anyone in need of an appliance repair.

Range hood and dishwasher were quick fixes, and both have continued to work trouble free for months now. The built in microwave was expensive and only 2 years old, but proved unfixable and we are working with manufacturer now regarding replacement. Pitstop didn't charge me for the microwave repair since it ended up being not fixable, even though it took some time and effort on their end before coming to this conclusion. These guys know a ton about appliances and I find this company very helpful, easy to make appointments too.

Josh was great- He was courteous and prompt and I would definitely call Pitstop for all of my appliance repairs from now on.
Description of Work: Service was not needed. The lights on my oven were out and I was told it was probably a transformer by another appliance service person who was here servicing my refrigerator. He told me he didn't service Dacor Ovens so I made an appointment with Pitstop. Josh from Pitstop was great. He checked everything then removed both lightbulbs-both were bad, and read off the part number for me. He walked me through the steps for replacing the bulbs myself.

Our water dispenser on our fridge was leaking. We had Pitstop out twice over a two year period to look at it. The same guy came out both times, was on time and very nice, but both times told us there was no way it could be fixed. We had another company come out, they suggested a fix, we said we'd give it a try, and we have had no problem since (6+ months).

They struck out on their first visit. The repair person said he would check the internet on a site of repair people. Two weeks went by. I called the office and we found that a kit was required to do the repair. They returned in a couple of days and successfully eliminated the noise from the door. So, did it get fixed - no and yes. But it took some doing. We would problably call them again for other applicance work, but would be firm in requiring a plan if they are not successful.

I've had bad experiences with other appliance repair companies, one well known brand name included, and when my dryer broke I decided to join Angies list and hire Pitstop Appliance based on their rating. Pitstop arrived the next day, one hour after the on-line selected appointment time (2 hour window) and fixed the appliance promptly. I plan to call them again when the next appliance needs repair.

I was having trouble with my LG Refrigerator. It seemed like the compressor was running more frequently and it was very loud. Sounded like a jet engine in my kitchen. I consulted the owners manual and it suggested cleaning the condenser coils. I pulled off the base plate and stuck the vacuum hose as far as I could. That did not fix the problem. I decided to call pitstop to get a professional diagnosis. The technician showed up after my 2-3 p.m. appointment and started looking at the refrigerator. I explained to him what I typed above. He opened the doors and felt that the unit was warm and said that it sounded like it was working harder than normal, causing excess heat. He told me that I actually had to pull out the fridge, remove a panel and then vacuum out the coil from there. I said to him, "that's not what it says in the manual" and he told me "the manual is wrong". I found this to be pretty odd. Now this is no fault of the technician, but the previous owner of my house bought a refrigerator that was too large and he solved this problem by not tiling under it so that it had enough clearance. That meant that rolling the refrigerator out was not easy and would damage my tile. He said they try to limit liability so he wasn't about to perform this cleaning. I said, let's give it a try I don't care about the tile. After a few half hearted attempts I said to forget it. I paid my service call fee and he went on his way. Well, it's been about 3 weeks and I finally was able to get the refrigerator out. To my surprise the back of the unit was in near pristine shape. No dust bunnies, no caked on crud, not much of anything. I vacuumed out everything that was accessible. I put the refrigerator back in the slot and sure enough, still sounds like a 747 jet engine. I have to believe that I have a faulty component that was not properly assessed. In retrospect, I'm surprised the technician didn't have any tools with him that could have been used to move my refrigerator. Oh well, that's my luck. In response to your response. I did take off the lower rear cover to expose the coils. I ran the vacuum hose over them anyway, but they were not dirty.
Description of Work: A technician came to the house, listened to the refrigerator and determined that it needed to be cleaned.

Response from Pitstop Appliance Repair
Hello. if you had any questions or concerns, you should have contacted us before leaving a bad review. Your refrigerator condenser coils need to be cleaned, not just the grate cover. To do that on your unit- the unit MUST come out of the wall and the lower rear cover removed. The coils are located behind that cover. Use this video as guidance- [Hyperlink removed] Here is the parts breakdown of your model # to prove that your unit uses the same style of coils in the rear of the unit and the technician was correct- [Hyperlink removed] The technician would have done this except your fridge was trapped in the wall cabinets due to the tile floor improperly installed. The only 'tools to move your refrigerator' in this situation would be- a hammer and chisel to break your floor tiles! You said you would take care of it yourself, had spare tiles and that your buddies were coming over later and you would have them help you get the tile removed and the refrigerator out. Nothing further was possible to be done by the tech since your unit was inaccessible. If you still thought something else was wrong with it after you freed it from it's location, you should have contacted us and we would have sent the tech back out once the fridge was out so he could get to the back of it.
