Bob was contacted (in October 2014) and asked to repair the buckling, which he said he would do. Sadly, that was the last we heard from Bob. I have tried to contact him numerous times via texting (he had been responsive to text messages during the initial work) and email (he had submitted his quotes via email), and also by calling him directly for the last month. He would never answer his phone and his voice mail was full. We had someone else call (our realtor who was selling our house) and she was able to contact him, make an appointment to complete the repairs and he never showed up. Once again, repeated attempts to reach out to him were to no avail. He has completely ignored us (he has been paid in full of course). Bob's lack of professionalism and complete disregard for delivering satisfactory work is unlike anything I have run in to when working with contractors. I would strongly recommend not hiring Bob (Mr. Sandman Hardwood Floors out of the Basking Ridge NJ area) for any work at all. You will be deeply disappointed.

Called Mr Sandman on approximately 9/22/2014 and scheduled a visit by him for 9/25/2014 at noon for estimation purposes. Mr Sandman did not show up and has not called to explain why.

Overall, everything went great. Friends have remarked how beautiful the floors look now. Price was reasonable and the quote was exactly what was charged. Mr. Sandman and his helper were extremely courteous and efficient. If Angie's List allowed a grade higher than A, I would give it to Mr. Sandman!

The floor was buffed to remove the top layer of poly coating, then recoated. We preferred this process over a full sanding (to bare wood) because we were not interested in changing the color. The process does not remove deep scratches or cover fading, but the result was really very good. Almost as good as new and we are very pleased with the result. A very good value overall.

I found them on Angie's List. I haven't decided to use them because I haven't had a chace to compare their prices. Mr. Sandman Hardwood Floors seemed a little high. The estimate was a little higher than what I wanted to spend. I don't know if I would use them. It would depend on if I find a lower price. I prefer not to rate the person that came out for the estimate. I wouldn't want to read about someone like myself.

We're happy with the job, it was a good value. There were a few imperfections that were minor and not generally visible, with a few carpet staples still stuck in the hardwood stairs that I removed. Other than that, we love how light the wood got and how they were able to bring out the wood grain. They also had the equipment allowing them to get under the baseboard heating. A snowstorm complicated things for a day or two and resulted in some communications issues between us, but overall I am really pleased with the work. Great workers and great value. I whole-heartedly recommend them.
