John and his crew were outstanding! His base price was fair and honest and each upgrade we selected was assessed fairly. John and his team were friendly, thorough, and punctual. His team was meticulous in doing each step 100% right before moving on to the next. There was no rushing through the motions. They were happy to touch up or fix little things we noticed and immediately addressed any concerns we had. John even took the time to entertain our young daughter while she was having a pretend tea party! Kind, honest, and personable. Highly recommend John and his team!

Please see my original review in 2015. So after almost three years I had some paint cracking on my cedar shingles over my deck. I called john and he came out and looked at it and said it wasn’t paint failure. It appears that with cedar shakes anything can cause cracks to develop. John told my wife no problem and “I will take care of it". Now this is without a warranty just a verbal agreement and handshake. Yes he is very busy and of course we had to wait a while, but he really did come through for us. So with John you don't need anything in writing his word is as good as his work. What more can you ask for in a contractor. As long as I live in New Jersey John's painting is my painting contractor.

John's Painting did a great job re-staining my deck. It is a large deck that runs the length of the house. It's been 2 years now, and the paint is holding up great. No mess, no surprises, no complaints.

It went great. I highly recommend John. His price was great. His service was great. His crew was great. what more can I say?

We were impressed from the beginning because they arrived on time to give their estimate and they didn’t just walk around our home quickly and then throw out a number. Yerik took his time evaluating each room and documented the repairs that were necessary. A few days later, an estimate arrived in my email and we were again impressed by the level detail we were provided: it presented all necessary information in a simple and straightforward way so we knew exactly what work needed to be done and how much it would cost broken down by room. When we worked out the dates they would come, they showed up exactly when promised and actually finished a day earlier than estimated. At the end of each day, their work areas were cleaned up and at the end of the job, they did a thorough vacuuming and cleaning of all affected areas. We are going to need more painting done next year and we are definitely going to use John’s Painting again!

John’s painting did a great job. The house wasn’t in the best shape beforehand but the guys did better than what I had expected.

The team at John's Painting was great from start to finish, beginning by being very responsive to my initial inquiry for an estimate even though it was probably a small job for them (10' x 15' deck). They were also able to fit us in between other jobs and a number of rainy days so we didn't have to wait weeks for the work to get done. They power washed and refinished our deck, privacy wall, and supports, and didn't get a spot of stain anywhere else. I had a question about a very small patch where the stain didn't take as well on a sun-damaged portion of the railing. The team came back quickly and gave the spot a little extra attention - without any hassle or complaint. Now our deck looks like new!

John's crew did an excellent job, they were skilled, careful and very polite.

They were very punctual and clean. The bathroom was done in one day and came out great!

The painting itself was done very well. They were very agreeable to doing drywall repairs and making the changes we requested in regards to what we wanted painted and still kept to the original estimate. However the painters were a little careless. They spilled paint on a set of Hunter Douglas blinds which had been taken down and set on the floor. But the company did replace the damaged blinds. A week after they left I noticed that all of the door knobs they had loosened to paint were never retightened. We think they broke a switch plate and replaced it without telling us but the color was slightly off. (We were replacing all of the plates anyway so it didn't matter to us.) Also found a few spots they missed that I touched up myself. We would use them again but watch them a little more closely.

We were first introduced to John's Painting when two large pin oaks crashed through our house during Storm Sandy. They did an excellent job on repainting our walls, so when it came to painting the outside of our house, John got the call again. His crew did an outstanding job, repairing worn woodwork and painting the outside of the house. I would recommend his company to anyone that's looking for a top quality job.

The process from the beginning to end was flawless. John was very personable and professional during our first business. He supplied me with color choices and brands to choose from. This was my first big home improvement project and it couldn't have gone better.

Showed up on time. Very friendly. Spackling work was just ok. You can tell where it was done...not the worst job but not exactly the best. It is noticeable and I don't mean you have to look closely to see a problem. Wall and ceiling paint overall good. Door paint job not great. Trim paint job fine. Left the bedroom very clean after finishing. I had also asked that a doorknob be changed out (I provided the new one) and that a door stop be removed. Neither was done. Overall, they did an ok job. I might consider hiring them again, depending on the job I need done. If no spackling involved they would be just fine to do a job. But for a job where spackling is required, I would not hire them again.

John's Painting is easily the best deal you will find (and I did my research with 7 quotes total!). This contractor is timely, responsive and a pleasure to work with. I was impressed with the quality of work across all phases - prep, small carpentry + painting. John's Painting came as a referral in the area. Will use in the future without question.

John and his team tackled an interior job my wife and I had been dreading for some time - hours of wallpaper removal and wall repair, followed up with painting. John was very responsive, gave us the most reasonable quote out of the few we solicited, and most importantly - no fuss, no drama. His crew showed when they said they would, did the job quickly, cleaned up nicely, and within a few days we were all set. Mani and the crew were professional, courteous, and most importantly - they did a terrific job. When it was time to settle up, once again - quick, easy, straightforward, and no drama. Definitely plan to call John again, and recommend his company without reservation.

I was surprised at just how easy this was! John is an absolute peach! He is friendly, knowledgeable and an excellent communicator. He answered all my questions promptly. John and Gabby have a ton of experience and were able to give me great advice. The work crew was efficient, polite and upbeat! A happy work crew says a lot about who they work for! My house looks GREAT.

The best recommendation you can give some one is to call them back for 2 more jobs. From the the first phone call to the completion of the Job my wife and I couldn't of been more satisfied. John gave us a very fair estimate, and within a couple of weeks (we had to get on line for his services) we had our house painted perfectly by a very competent crew who always showed up on time and cleaned up after themselves each day. We were so satisfied with the exterior job that was done, we immediately called John back to do the interior of our house. Again John's estimate was very fair and again he sent an amazing crew and finished the whole job in four days. John's crew was immaculate in cleaning up and were super compulsive to cover all our furniture and keeping everything clean. They also installed crown and base moulding to absolute perfection, and that's coming from someone who has family in the contracting business. I called John today, and within a minute he returned my call, and will be giving me another estimate at my parents house tomorrow. Oh and BTW our neighbor was also so impressed ("said the house looked stunning") by John's workmanship he had his entire exterior painted the same week they were doing my interior. Great. They were prompt, detail oriented, started and finished when they promised. Stayed right on budget. Cleaned up. I would use them again. And we were able to get us in the schedule pretty quickly. Thanks John's.

After checking around for quotes, I quickly figured out John was right for the job. It was my second time using him, he went the extra mile on my previous smaller house and did a great job on my larger house as well. His prices are very reasonable for the high quality work. He hires excellent staff and they know what to do. You won't be disappointed.

John's crew was able to start the job within 1 week and the job took approximately 2 weeks start to finish. John was very accommodating with paint color selection and allowed us to view test sections of up to 5 colors - we chose 3 and decided in the end to match the original house color which turned out great. There were a couple of minor mishaps - 2 torn screens and on inspection the paver walkway needed a second round of power washing - but John was very professional and quick to respond when notified, rectifying these issues promptly and satisfactorily.

This is the 2nd time that we used John and his team to paint the exterior of our house. They are very professional, punctual, and competent. The job was started and completed on time. John himself was very helpful in ensuring that we had the correct trim color to go with the house color chosen. John and his crew painted 6 samples on the house in order to help us select the final color. John does not accept payment up front. Total payment is only due once the job is complete. I strongly recommend John and his team and will use them again in the future.

John was very approachable and helpful in selecting colors. His crew worked very hard and also worked on the weekends. House looks great!!!

It took 7 or 8 phone calls in order to get the initial visit to the house although his first call was in the first couple of days. He must have told me at least six times that I needed to buy my own paint. I’m not sure if he is just forgetful or scatterbrained. When I went to make an appointment he was booked for two months out. I was still fine with that but then he never showed up on the date that we had scheduled and still hasn’t called to this day. When I called him to book the appointment I had to call him twice because he didn’t return my call within a week. He is disorganized, unreliable and not as responsive as he needs to be.
