Description of Work: Installed ac two years ago. Unit broke. Under warranty still. Have been lied to by Mr Biggs for two months now about when he would be here to fix. Have four children with allergies who can't sleep in heat. Can't open windows due to pollen. He just doesn't care. Unfortunately with warranty work we are stuck either paying another contractor to repair or waiting for Lester to stop lying and show up and fix.

They were the best. Their quote for the new air conditioner was way below any other offer. I had several companies give me estimates from $7000-$10,000. They did have to make an adjustment to our duct work so it did cost a little more, but was still well under the estimates the other companies gave us. They had very reasonable pricing. They are very straight forward and honest and really bend over backwards to help their customers.
Description of Work: They installed our new A/C unit in 2013 and are now installing a whole house humidifier to this.

As mentioned above, three of us had "won" a free heating unit from TempTamers, who had a kiosk at an eco-friendly fair in Long Branch, NJ. Despite "winning" a free heating unit, when we asked for an estimate that included both a new heating unit as well as a new AC unit, the estimate ignored the "free" heating unit and we were told we would be charged $1600 for a new heating unit. We were also quoted $2500 for the AC unit despite the fact that we indicated we could get the unit we wanted for $1800 from a specific vendor. TempTamers ignored that and suggested the unit they were providing was a "much better unit" than the one we preferred. Interestingly, though I currently have an inoperable 3.5 ton AC unit on my house, TempTamers felt a 2.5 ton unit would suffice. I have a 2500 square foot house. I nearly qualify for a 4.0 ton unit. A 2.5 ton unit would be so dramatically undersized that the unit would run constantly and would most likely burn out within a year's time. Additionally, the AC unit they claimed to be better than the one I preferred is a no-name unit that one cannot even locate through Internet searches or in discussions with 3 HVAC professionals with whom I am friends. All three recommended the unit I preferred, a unit from Goodman that I can purchase directly from a site that would not include the typical industry discount for HVAC companies that still would cost more than $800 less than that which was quoted me by TempTamers. When I received the third call from TempTamers indicating the third and final person in my house had "won" a free heating unit, I asked them how all three of us could have "won" this unit. The girl said it was impossible and that only one person won from the eco fair. I asked her to look into her records for phone calls made to myself and my first roommate and to retrieve the estimate written out by her boss for the work that was to be done at our home. When she noticed that I had in fact been contacted as the heating unit "winner," she said she would have her boss contact me to discuss this further. She then hung up without saying goodbye or without any further comment. One week later, I called to speak with the boss and I was told he no longer owned the company and that an entirely new management was in place and they would not honor any previous fair winnings from the previous owners. Of note - I never told this woman that I spoke to at that time that I had been a "winner" of one of their "free" heating units. She knew that based on my phone number and Caller ID. Two days later, I had a friend call and ask specifically for the owner and he got on the phone in moments, so the story provided earlier in the week was a farce and a sad attempt on the company's part to get me to drop my efforts towards getting the "free" heating unit that I had "won." Mind you, neither of my other roommates ever asked to receive their "free" heating units. The company just opted to lie their way out of what should be a contractual obligation.
Description of Work: We encountered TempTamers at an eco-friendly fair in Long Branch. Three of us all entered a drawing for a free heating unit, one of which was to be awarded from the fair. Interestingly, all three of us (we live in the same house) "won" the new heating unit. As we really need an AC unit, we asked for an estimate for both a heating and cooling system installation. We already have central heat/AC, so only the units themselves are required.

The owner came out immediately when first contacted. His price seemed ok and he had been recommended so we contracted with him. He had a slot of time soon after. He said he would get the permit but could start work before doing so as he had done that in the past. We had also had experiences where that was allowed. So we agreed to let him start. He did not show up during the work at all but his workers did a good job and were completed in 2 days. The township code inspector happened by and asked us about the work and where our permit was. We explained that the owner said he would take care of it. Upon checking, he informed us that no application was filed. We contacted the owner and, long story short, it took from June, 2012 till February, 2013 to get the job done to the satisfaction of the inspectors. I called and e-mailed many, many times during that period, only to be told he would come and then not show. I finally had to threaten further action and give a deadline before his men finished the job. The work was good but the experience was frustrating.
Description of Work: Installed new air conditioning system.

At home show, I won a free furnace, just had to pay $800 in labor to install. Upon inspection, condenser was found to have been damaged by flood waters of Sandy, so I was quoted a price to replace A/C system. Price was reasonable. No deposit was required. They called early in the morning to advise time of arrival and they arrived at close to that time. They came in and advised the work to be done. Old parts were removed and new ones installed. Work was completed in a timely fashion. Workers were friendly. Tested both systems to make certain that they were functioning properly and advised that there would be an oily smell for a short while with the furnace and advised opening the windows for a while. They asked if they could put cardboard recycling by the curb and I said yes. However they put trash out with the cardboard and I had to go thorugh it to remove trash. They also put some trash in our recycling dumpster. And they left their cordless drill battery behind. Overall the work was good and I would have them come again.
Description of Work: Replaced furnace, A/C coil and condenser. Removed old furnace, coil and condenser. Put in new condenser pad, and condenser outside and new coils inside underneath furnace, charged the line and tested the A/C. Installed new furnnace and cut new galvanized metal to fit to existing ducts.

The salesperson recommended products that would meet my needs. He said some of the rebates were going to expire, and I asked him to make sure that I would for sure get the rebates. Some of the rebates are depended upon the installer providing the necessary information. Normally, the installer applies for the rebate for the customer. I did not know that. Also the water heater I purchased did not meet the efficiency ratings, eligible for the rebate. I am very unhappy about that situation. The pricing with the rebates would have been an A. Now, without the rebates being resolved, I don't know about the price. I don't even know if the proper permits were applied for, especially with the gas company. In the beginning I though they were very professional, yet right now, I feel like I got hood winked. I thought he was a good guy, and I am just so disappointed especially regarding the rebates. I am obviously a little emotional.
Description of Work: I used Temp Tamers for Heating and A/C services. They installed my water heater, furnace and air conditioner this past April.
