Ray was great! He honestly told us he didn't think our basement flooding issue was a water table problem. He explained his reasoning well & told us how to handle the pitch problem that directed water to our foundation. Very nice person & honest to boot. I really think he could've sold us a really big job & we would've gone with it. His honesty & integrity are the outstanding qualities of his company!

Description of Work: Asked Ray to diagnose problem in basement. He suggested several steps I should try before having French drains installed. No charge for the suggestions. Another vendor immediately wanted to do french drains for $22,000. If we need to have work done, we will definitely use Ray.

Description of Work: they arrived on time on the day they said they would. Put a french drain in my basement along with a sump pump. the workers were professional and cleaned up after themselves. They had to break up the cement in my basement in order to put in the drain and drill through the foundation to put in the drain pipe. Both jobs created quite a mess but the workers cleaned up everything, including wiping down my cellar stairs. the job was complete in two days. I am quite pleased with their work and would highly recommend Ray Wilding. Also I felt the price was fair.

We could not be more pleased--when Sandy hit unfortunately our neighbors received substantial water damage, we had no basement damage, and no water came up through the floors also; which can be a major problem for us. Ray, (the owner), has come back several times to check on us and I find that impressive.
Description of Work: We had received substantial water damage to our basement from rains prior to Super Storm Sandy--they waterproofed the floors, (placed rocks, filled cracks, and painted), and cement walls, and sealed the basement from the outside as well. Also, they installed new sump pumps around the basement.

Ray Wilding was recommended to me by my plumber who did not want the job. I checked Angie's List and saw positive reviews so I called him. Got an answering machine at first but he called me back within an hour and came over to the house the same day to see the situation. His men were here in less than a week to work on the basement. They removed the old, unusally-small liner to the existing pump pit, slegehammered the basement floor to make a larger hole, installed a new standard-size liner and a new larger sump pump in just a few hours. Ray went to the township offices, determined that a permit was necessary to dig the trench and lay pipe outside, so he filled out all the forms for the permits and dropped them off at my house for me to write the check necessary and mail them in. Then he called for utility mark-outs because the location for the trench was right where the gas line to the house is. Any delay in completing the project was due to waiting for the utility mark-outs. Once I told him they had been done, his men were right back here, hand-digging the trench with care. They disassembled a stacked stone garden wall, hand dug under the public sidewalk, carefully peeled back the grass between the sidewalk and the street, broke the curbing in order to lay the pipe. They used a level to make sure that the piping would run downhill to the street and not back up. Then they rebuilt the wall, mixed cement to repair the curbing and by the time they left a couple of hours later, I swear you could not tell that anything had been done here - except that water was running into the gutter instead of shooting out into my yard.
Description of Work: Dug a larger sump pump pit, provided and installed a new larger pump, dug a trench and installed a pipe, piping sump pump water to street.

I couldn't be more pleased with their work! Just waiting for a hefty rain event to prove to me that everything went well, but I'm fairly confident that we will not see anymore flooding in my father's basement. Even the white paint on the walls has brightened up what was once a nightmare of a leaky old basement. The sealant that was applied to the walls WAS NOT the same as the waterproof paint available at retail stores. It had absolutely no odor and was not offensive. The 2 men that did the physical work on the job were always prompt and extremely courteous. They also cleaned up after themselves on a continuous basis. I was always present during this job because my father has Alzheimer's Disease and he owns a large dog. Just wanted to be sure that everything went smoothly with that and it absolutely did. Ray's price for the entire job was extremely reasonable and came in lower than I had originally anticipated. Overall I'm a very happy camper!
Description of Work: My father's basement has had flooding problems for approximately the last 20 years. Ray Wilding had been recommended to me by a friend, so I called him for an estimate. He arrived just a few days later at the agreed upon time as promised. He was very friendly and professional. He gave me a detailed estimate of the work to be done so that he would be able to guarantee no more flooding and a price. I phoned the next day to schedule the work and Ray gave me an approximate start date but said that he would call a day or two ahead of time to let me know a definite date and time. His men arrived promptly on 5/24/12, and began to break up the floor of the area in the basement that the water would enter through. This area being worked on was roughly 30' along the southern wall of the basement and another 10' along part of the eastern wall. The work continued on 5/25 with a trench being dug in the floor (approximately a 1 1/2' out from the base of the wall), a pipe run through the trench with stone around it, and holes drilled into the base of the lower cinderblock to promote drainage. They also applied the first of 2 coats of sealant being applied to the porous cinderblock walls from floor to ceiling. This was Memorial Day wknd so the next day that the workers arrived was Tuesday, 5/29.. On this day they finished with the pipe and installed a pump which included pvc pipe that was run through the wall and outside of the house for drainage. They also installed an electrical line for the pump and re-cemented the basement floor. On the morning of 5/30 the job was completed with a final coat of sealant applied to the cinder block walls and clean-up. Ray, himself, arrived shortly thereafter to inspect and explain to me what had been done and how the pump would work.

His crew showed up promptly. Any problems they encountered were rectified quickly. He afterwards had to come back a couple times for follow up, but he - the owner - came by himself for these visits! I enjoyed dealing with the president of the company. Mr. Wilding oversees every job and I appreciate that. I called with questions and he came out and explained things to me and even made a small update, but there was no extra charge and he was prompt. He warranted his work for 10 years and I got that in writing!

Ray was the most pragmatic of the few companies who gave us quotes, suggesting instead that we first try to repair the sinking concrete porch before attempting any drainage work and was the only one who said that we should only do work on the wall that was leaking rather than do the entire basement over. The only issue I had was that Ray was very backed up and scheduling the work (done over 3 days) was put off for months and even then was later than we had hoped. That said, his crew arrived on time, worked hard and Ray was there to answer questions before, during and after. One thing that told me a lot about Ray was that the original estimate said and quot;tie sump to town lineand quot; which we had envisioned meaning to dig up through the lawn but his workers pointed out that the gutters were already tied in at the house which meant they didn't have to dig the 50 feet to the sidewalk. I believe anyone else would have simply tied it in, done less work, and said and quot;We did what our estimate said we would, your sump pump is tied into the town lineand quot; but when Ray came to collect he told me that less work was involved and he reduced the bill by $300. I've NEVER before seen a contractor come in under estimate while doing the work promised.

He was not completely punctual as he said that he would get to us in late summer and he did the work the first week of October, but he did a nice job. They were very pleasant and they did the work in two days. It does look great. I haven't had much of a chance to test it yet but l think it is going to solve our problem with a wet basement. They guys did some extra work in the basement as I asked them to and they didn't even charge me for that. They did a very good job.
Description of Work: They patched and waterproofed our 25 x 40 basement and sealed it off. They did work on my sump pump and also did some masonry work as well.
