There could not be a worse realtor in the state of new jersey than Maryann. It has now been over two months of absolute aggravation and stress trying to sell my home. When she first listed the house on the MLS, she did an absolutely horrible job presenting it online, like as if she didn't even care about how the home looked to prospective buyers. When we politely asked her to make changes, even offering to pay for professional photography on the home, she fought us. After finally accepting an offer on the house, she then decided to disclose to us at our table that there had been additional offers made. To our shock and surprise, she admitted that she turned down an offer on our behalf due to her own personal ethical reasons. She had indicated how uncomfortable she was in the current market with many offers being overbid on homes, but we had no idea that she would take this into her own hands without telling us. After a painstaking process of having to have physical documents delivered and signed due to her lack of an ability to use electronic signatures, we had finally accepted an offer and were prepared to go under contract. Again, sitting at our table, advised us NOT to get an attorney to review the contract for the attorney review period, claiming that it was a waste of money. Something that left us shocked that any realtor would advise against an attorney review, which goes directly against their code of ethics. We opted anyway to have the attorney review the contract despite her objections. Then thing's took a turn for the worst. Apparently overhearing from a third party who heard from another third party, who half heard a conversation, that we were unhappy with the transaction as it was going, took it upon herself to contact one of my children to complain about how shocked she was that we were unhappy and that she was offended by us being unhappy with the process so far. As if things could not get worse, she then showed up with her husband to my home, an apparent intimidation tactic in an attempt to strongarm us into an apology for some ill-perceived slight against her and her business. We politely told her about our frustrations, and that the only thing she had to do was finish our transaction and we would forget about this situation entirely. Well, that also did not proceed as planned, as she again a week later contacted one of my children again, only this time to call me a liar and insult my family. After that, her communication once again became poor, as now our buyers had missed the mortgage commitment date, and as our transaction fell through, was basically nowhere to be found, forcing us to hire an attorney to draft amendments to extend dates, and get to the bottom of what had happened. Now that the transaction has completely fell apart, she flat out refuses to remove my home from the MLS and release me from the listing agreement to find a new realtor, forcing me and my family to pursue all other avenues to deal with the situation. Save yourself the grief, stay as far away from Maryann as you can. There are far better realtors out there, which I have had the pleasure to deal with, Maryann is not one of them.
