I worked with David, and he didn't show up for our first meeting to do the estimate for my work. But he'd been given a good review by a coworker, so I wanted to give him a chance. Throughout the planning, I had to keep reminding him what work I wanted done and when. I'm not certain he actually wrote anything down, and he only gave me an actual estimate on part of the job (the rug installation) initially, and wanted to get back to me on the cost of the LVT I wanted installed. The positives: The rug installed looked fantastic, and he saved me a lot of money by using a leftover piece of carpeting that he already had in stock rather than buying a new piece. The negatives: I had to keep calling him to find out what was going on and to get him to give me any times as to when he'd be coming to do the job. the job was done in two parts, and for the second day, instead of giving me a start time, he told me just to call me that morning, and he'd let me know when they'd show up! For pulling out the carpets (hardwood underneath), there are still staples and nails that I am finding every few days. 2 weeks have gone by and he still hasn't come back with the replacement door molding he said he would be getting for me either. He also left out the price of pulling out the carpet when he gave me the estimate for pulling out the carpets and the LVT (which I think is because he kept forgetting I wanted the carpet pulled- I had to tell him every single time I spoke to him), so I was surprised with an additional $300 on the day of that part of the job. For the installation of the new carpet, the carpet was done great, but his workers broke the bottom of the door in that room and didn't tell me! I discovered it when I went to look around after they'd left, and had to call David several times to have him come back and try to patch it up. Overall: you get what you pay for. I saved money, but had to be on top of this guy constantly, and will still have a few touchups to do myself (pulling a few staples, will probably have to buy and install that molding myself). Since this was just one of the two guys working for this company, you might want to consider using the other guy if you go with this company.
