Up and Above came out when they said they would to look at my shed roof. Provided me a written estimate and samples of shingles they would use. The estimate was for $1800.00 and that seemed a little high. I called another company from Angies List and was quoted $1250.00. He quoted me the same GAF shingles as Up and Above.

Because of Sandy the whole process took forever just to get an estimate and schedule the repairs (like 2-3 months). Communication with the office could have been better. I wanted to be present when they came to do the work, but instead they just showed up and did the work. Someone was home, but I had asked to be called when I should expect them so I could plan my day accordingly. The work was performed, looks good and hopefully will last.

On the date scheduled for the work the workers showed up and worked professionally and neatly. They completed the job in one day and my husband gave them a check for the remainder of the agreed upon fee. The only problem we had was getting a pole to open the skylight. The skylight, as installed, had a handle to open by hand but our ceiling is a slanted contemporary roof that ranges from 8 to 15 feet and was unreachable standing on the floor so a pole and new handle that could accomodate the pole had to be sent. It was ordered immediately but their supplier took some time to order the item and get it sent to us. I had to make several calls about it but Mrs. Powers was very patient and polite.

My roof was leaking after a bad storm which damaged the ceilings in 2 rooms. Gary from Up and Above stopped by promptly after my initial call. He climbed into my attic to survey the water damage, measured the roof, gave his advise and took the time to explain in detail the pros and cons of each of his proposals. He gave me estimates for a full roof replacement, half the roof or a patch-job. I knew the roof was ready to be replaced since it was at least 20 years old. It also had some areas of moss I had been cleaning off for a few years. I received 3 other estimates in the following weeks. Gary wasn't the cheapest but I went with him because he's had a successful business for years and I felt he was more honest and concerned than the other roofers. He also had a partnership with a sheetrocker which I needed. His team of 6 employees arrived promptly at 8:00 am. They had all the shingles off, discovered the minor holes in the plywood (not where I thought they would be) and patched up by 11:00 am. They completed the job by 4:00 pm including a full cleanup around the house. I am very happy with the quality job and professionalism of his team. After the roof was complete, his sheetrocker Jim Marion of True Drywall, Inc. gave me an honest estimate for patching the ceilings. I was afraid a sheetrocker would recommend replacing the full ceilings but Jim was more than happy to patch the ceilings where necessary. His crew was in and out in 3 hours, cleanup and all. His spackler followed right away and came back 2 more days to build up the spackle and then sand on the final day. They were all extremely friendly and did an excellent job. Jim made sure to call the day after the spackler was done to insure everything was done to my liking. Overall I am very happy with Gary team from Up and Above and Jim from True Drywall. Excellent work!

They were very behind on their schedule due to weather i waited a month after the proposed start date. I told them my chimney might need work and that I wanted to take care of it before hand based on what they saw when they inspected it. I also told them I wanted to move one of the vents in the roof. They said yes to all of this and told me any work that had to be done would be on top of the estimate. I assumed they would hire the appropriate people to do these two things. They put on my roof without any mention of my chimney being in disrepair as there is noone there to supervise the crew and they did not move the vent that I had asked them to. They basically yessed me and did not follow through. After the roof was put on it leaked around the chimney. When they came to inspect it they blamed it on the chimney being in such disrepair. The chimney was in such bad condition it had to be torn down. The mason who tore down the chimney could not believe that anyone would put on a brand new roof with the chimney in that condition. I had to tear off the new cricket and put a giant hole in my brand new roof to fix the chimney. They then told me that they would give me the extra roof tiles from my job so that i wouldn't have to repurchase them to fix the roof around the new chimney. I called and emailed them repeatedly after the chimney was rebuilt and they never returned my calls or emails. I therefore had to purchase additional tiles. I found them very friendly and professional when they wanted my business and very unprofessional once they were paid and things had gone wrong with the roof.

My wife and I have called Up and Above for 2 new roofs and a roof vent over the past 10 years and they did a great job (takes less than a day, excellent workmanship and good pricing.) We also contracted them for replacement windows for our entire house a couple of weeks ago and we were very happy with the results. But when Paul and his team installed a brand new sliding glass door off the back of our house from the dining room I couldn't believe it. What a masterpiece! The work was performed satisfactorily, however, due to the owners unscrupulous way of doing business, it was certainly NOT WORTH THE INFLATED COST!

Service was provided within one week of estimated time. This was remarkable considering all the rain we've had in the area. They completed a complete tear off, replaced 4 pieces of plywood sheeting, and put on a new roof in 9 hours. They were courteous and cautious with the landscaping surrounding the house. The quality and workmanship was excellent. Would definitely recommend their services. In fact, we will have them install gutters in the near future.

Came when scheduled. Said they could finish in 2 days - and they did! Even installed our roof heater cables! I have nothing bad to say - would definitely use again and highly recommend.

The things that happened were not huge things. Overall they did a really good job. They were very responsible. They were honest, they have been in business for over 20 years and they were local also.

They were great. Job completed in one day. Yard completely cleaned. Will definetly use again.

Before providing an estimate, they were very prompt and excellent. Therefore, my experience with them was excellent. They were very professional. There was no problem.

In spite of the rain, the job was completed on time. Trim and windows were protected as specified. I followed the installation and observed that roofing was applied according to manufacturer's specifications. The finished job was neat and professional.

We have had several experiences with other roofers that were very disappointing to say the least. Still had problems with others after job was done. Our home is a long ranch style, therefore, we have quite a large roof. Our experience with Up and Above could not have been better -- completed job as described to us. Returned our phone calls promptly -- very courteous. When work was completed, clean up was perfect -- property was spotless. Afterwards, we received a call asking if we were completely satisfied with all work performed. We cannot say enough about how happy we are with the results, particularly after this past winter (2010/2011) -- not one problem! Highly recommend without hesitation! Subsequently, we had 2 skylights installed by Up and Above -- again -- a perfect job!

It was smooth. The people were very cooperative and polite. Everyone worked well together.
