The work that they did was really good, for the most part. Everything was done to my satisfaction. However, the fifth pendant light in the kitchen was not repaired properly, so within a week or two after the work was complete it stopped working. Since I liked their work, I also decided to offer them 2 additional exterior projects to do when they came to repair the pendant light. I left many messages trying to set up an appointment for him to come and look at the incorrectly installed pendant lamp and at the new projects I wanted done. He did not return phone calls, and it was necessary to find ways to track him down. Multiple voicemails went unanswered. After much difficulty, we finally did connect. When we finally did connect on the phone, he was always friendly and upbeat. Then I had to contact him several more times because he continued to not do what he said he was going to do. Every time I tried to reach him I had to go through the same process to get a return call. Each time we spoke he promised he was going to come look at what needed to be done and then never did. This occurred multiple times. I finally gave up after it was clear he had no intention of fixing the pendant lamp that had not been repaired properly and was not interested in doing the additional projects I had for him. My biggest objections were: 1) his not fixing work that had been done improperly, and 2) being given the runaround.

Their estimate was low, but their work was high quality. In my opinion (and I am an Electrical Engineer) their estimate was low because they know exactly what they are doing, and waste no time getting it done. If you ask Mr. Hemmerich how he will run a wire through the walls from one side of the house to the other or what kind of wire he is going to use, or what parts he will use, he does not hesitate or hem and haw. He tells you exactly how he is going to do it, and he does exactly that way. You can do high quality work inexpensively when your are as knowledgeable as Mr. Hemmerich. I have used several electricians over the years, and all were pretty good, but Hemmerich was the best.
