The siding is beautiful, but there were numerous issues that required fixing, i.e., the front door wouldn't shut because the capping on the door frame prevented the door from closing (I was told that opening and closing the door @ 100 times would fix the problem); workmen ripped a window screen; light fixtures were removed and not reinstalled; the awning was put back up incorrectly, rendering it inoperable. All of these problems took considerable amounts of time and contact on our part, but have been resolved. Here is the current problem: on June 29th there was a significant storm in our area and a piece of the siding was ripped off. We reported this on June 30th. Did not receive a call until July 8th. Were told it would be repaired promply. Called on July 20th to ask why it was not repaired - we were told it took 2 weeks to acquire the piece of siding and it would be repaired the next day...and that he was very busy ...and several other reasons for why the repair had not occurred. Today is August 4th, two weeks later and the siding has not been replaced. We maintain that the reason this piece of siding came off in the first place is incorrect siding technique based on two facts: #1 - this house at the Jersey shore had vnyl siding that withstood severe storms, hurricanes, and nor'easters for 40 years with no damage; and #2, the other problems that occurred during installation lead us to this conclusion
