From the beginning it was hairy. The owner showed his true colors almost immediately. Screaming profanities at his crew etc. A worker dropped a 10 foot section of gutter without looking and almost (within inches) hit a visitor on the head. The no show days were frustrating, leaving for lunch and too drunk to come back. Workers using profanity talking to people on cell phones was very embarrassing as I live very close to an elderly gentleman. There was not suppose to be any damage to my woodwork with the replacement windows. However that was not true and it cost me about $3900.00 for a finish carpenter. They also damaged the venting system to my Rinnai I had to have the company come out and replace the venting system, as well as they covered a vent with the siding therefor all of this had to be fixed. I agreed to pay for the oil company bill if he would replace my basement windows. This cost was $1180.00 his estimate for the basement windows was $950.00. The biggest issue is the fact that he assured me over and over he would be back, my husband wanted to hold back $2000.00 but the owner cried a sob story of the last three jobs he did for some other company had still not paid him. He looked me in the eye and said I would never screw you out of the windows, we have become friends right? His girlfriend was saying she really needed her medicine, the heat was off because they had not had the money etc., etc., I gave in and gave them the full amount. My husband was right we should have held back the $2K because as of this date they have not come back. The "I told you so" from my husband is frustrating but the worse part is I now have to hire someone to install new windows at the cost of $1500.00
Description of Work: THEY RESIDED AND REPLACED ALL WINDOWS IN OUR HOME. BECAUSE OF SOME DAMAGE THEY CAUSED THE OVERALL JOB COST $5000. MORE THEN IT SHOULD HAVE

Description of Work: Kenny Stanley comes and talks a big game. Gives you all the answers to your concerns and then does not deliver on his promises. They want a deposit right away and then kept changing the start date. Once his crew started the job did not take all that long. However, when he was on our property he was just yelling and screaming at his crew. I got kids and they didn't need to hear this guy. The clean up was done poorly and when I pointed it out he blamed his crew and started yelling at them to get it done. I had my siding marked up from falling debris and two bushes were broken. I came home to see them installing the roof system with only 3 feet of ice and water when it was to be six. He once again said the crew must of forgot. However, he didn't even have any more laying around and had to run out and get more to correct the issue. Then the roof leaked. After numerous times trying to get him to come back and fix the problem I had to hire another company to fix the issue. I was told by them that the shingle were not nailed properly and that that courses were straight. they left exposed nail heads too. I saw digital pictures of the poor work and now to top it off the shingle company wont warranty it if I have other problem like blow offs. The job was a rip off and lay

As mentioned above, I had to keep an eye on the job
Description of Work: After giving the owner a substantial down payment, I tried to contact him and had trouble reaching him (mail box full) and answering machine message) and began to worry whether I had been scammed. When I finally did reach him after threatening to call the police, he did show up with his crew. they did the work, but I whatched them throughout the job and caught them trying to cut corners a couple of times. The job was finally finished satisfactorally

How it went overall...the WORSE service I have EVER gotten from anyone. My biggest recommendation to anyone, if you are going to deal with this man, make sure before you give him the last payment on services rendered, make sure to have the services you discussed with him actually rendered. I understand we can't always have it completely how we want it, but this man did not come out check the work and he gave us a totally different bill of goods then what had originally agreed upon. If this sight has been here back when this work was done, I would have been here immediately writing this.
Description of Work: Ken came out to my home to give us an estimate on having a new rubber membrane put down on our garage roof and carpeting since it was an outdoor deck with a roof over it. He said he didn't do carpeting but had a buddy who did and he would get back to us as to what it would cost for his buddy to come out do the work. We believed him at every turn. The work got held up, because of an emergency on my end of things so it got held off until I was home from the hospital and so forth.Work got underway and the rubber membrane was put down. (This was July and carpet was put down in September) We ended up having to wait to have the carpeting done. We had a sample of the carpet that was to be put down. He called us and told us the carpeting was no longer available and he found something that was almost exactly the same thing. (It was NOTHING like the original!) He assured us over the phone it was even better than what we originally wanted put down. I was not happy about this, but I felt there wasn't anything I could do if it was not available anymore. So I felt I had no choice but to trust him and said okay even though I was NOT happy about it. They eventually got out to my house to lay the carpet one morning when I had to go to the Dr. I came home to the carpet being half laid already and NO KEN. I called Ken furious as the carpet was NOTHING like what we had wanted. It seemed to be more of an INDOOR carpet. He TRIED to assure me and I tried to explain that it was going to absorb the water because of the type of carpet it was and he kept saying it wouldn't. I asked the guys who were doing the work if they worked for Ken or if they were actual carpet installers. One of the guys told me they were Ken's guys and that they had originally been scheduled to for roofing work that morning, but Ken wanted them to get this job done first. I asked if he has ever laid a carpet before, he said once indoors, not an outdoor carpet. They ended up having to patch around the beams and they ran out of carpeting and had to go purchase more which they cut all up and patched the last of it together with smaller pieces. It was and is a mess, you can easily see where it was all patched up. There was also bright orange paint all over the carpet and spots of grease. We tried to get Ken out to inspect the work, he kept saying he would and never did. I emailed him photos of the mess, he ignored them. The last bit of all of this is, we went to Home Depot a week after the carpet was laid and we brought the sample of the original in with us. The man who worked in that department showed it to us on a HUGE roll they had right out on the floor and said he still had more out back of it, it was as he put it, "a staple, they always carried in stock" We called and called and Ken just absolutely refused to come out to even look at the work. Forget about even trying to rectify it. Everything he told us was going to happen was so far off from what really went on was unbelievable! We finally gave up because we felt it was just going to be a mess if we took it any further. I tried to be honest and paid them the second payment even though I was totally disgusted with the whole thing. My biggest mistake. If I had not paid him I am SURE he would have been right out. He cashed the check IMMEDIATELY. Now this year, I have a LEAK in my garage roof around the beam and carpet has green moss and BLACK MOLD on it and it also absorbs water to the point where if it rains, I cannot even go out to my deck under the roof when it rains or my feet are soaking wet. Before my old carpet got worn out, I could go under my roof barefoot and stayed dry.

Did not respond to repeated requests for an estimate. When they had difficulty locating the house and coordinating a time to meet, they simply gave up and didn't call back.

Since I had begun the project and got in over my head before calling them, I already had much of the supplies. We negotiated a fair price for using the stuff I had purchased. Project was done almost amazingly fast. Called for a quote on Saturday. They showed up that afternoon. Job was complete by Tuesday. Excellent job. They even helped me rent a machine to blow in insulation where the house needed it. I feel like I got an excellent value for my money.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced asphalt roofing shingles on entire house. Replaced drip-edge. Blew in insulation into roof cavities. Repaired rotten boards. Sealed chimney margin.

Ken provided a free estimate (one that was 1000 to 4000 below comparable estimates and used premium materials), and once hired the crew contacted me ahead of schedule and was willing to start and complete the job ahead of schedule. The crew was professional and tackled the job The roof looks terrific, the crew cleaned meticulously, and I would hire them again. I wish more of my services were this quick and painless. Great job!
Description of Work: They removed the previous shingles, made some small repairs and put on a new roof in less than a week.
