Made many promises that weren't kept. Lack of professionalism. Project manager was worst than a used car salesman. Expected expertise missing. Many instances of frustration and disappointment. Other locations may be better. I would stay away from this one.

Response from SERVPRO
We encourage customers to bring any issues to our attention as soon as possible to enable us to deal with them in the most effective manner. we would have loved for for [Member name removed] to have reached out to us when we could have reacted to a problem. [Member name removed], according to your complaint, your dissatisfaction was with Marc so his continued lack of response should have warranted a phone call to the business office. Fortunately, you have found YELP and ANGIE'S LIST to be a satisfying avenue for expressing your opinions of service providers for some time. We, however, are just learning the value of these resources and learned of your reviews when we signed up in June 2016, much too late to provide you with any useful solution. Had you contacted us directly, we would have responded timely and had the benefit of speaking with the employee and you while the project was fresh and a resolution could have been found that was effective. We do appreciate the opportunity your review has provided and will use its full merit. As an aside, Marc left the employee of Servpro of Lebanon/Hanover/Littleton not long after the date of your review.

It went horrible. My sellers decided to use them for water damage due to freezing pipes because they were out of state and couldn't deal with the insurance company where Servpro said they would. Why wouldn't they! Servpro is paid on commission and the bottom line is what drives them, not quality or high standards. Instead of using local reputable trades people they hire hackers at the lowest price to do the work so their profit is high. The first hacker they hired painted all the walls. The painted the picture hooks, they got paint on the trim, on the stone fireplace, everywhere. This was a $320K house. They got paint all over the floors (hardwood) and furniture. The broke a vanity, a vanity top, lost a kitchen cabinet and countertop that they removed for reasons only known to them. The used low grade replacement materials claiming this was the grade they took out. It wasn't and the flooring person (thank goodness he was honest) verified that the materials used to fix issues were substandard for the work needing to be done. I have made numerous phone calls and numerous e-mails begging then threatening for work to be of higher standards and completed. To date we still aren't completed. They say they have gone above and beyond their responsibilities but the issues were created by the subs they hired. They cut corners in quality where they can get away with it to make their bottom line look better. They put no urgency behind their work. This house is for sale and they kept it off the market for over 60 days when this work should have been completed in no more than 4 weeks. Here we are about 100 days in and still not done. I have never in my life dealt with any company who seemingly cared less and has been so arrogant and condescending. Can't wait to see their response to this. People, this isn't even my home. If I weren't vigilant in monitoring their work, my sellers would have been left with substandard fixes to their home. I am a Realtor who is not getting paid for any of these headaches but I am also someone who cares about my clients and due to unforeseen circumstances my sellers can't be here to manage this issue so I'm doing it because that's what we do as humans; we help people out. My karma wheel is intact. Servpro absolutely can't say the same thing. DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE!
Description of Work: The provider was supposed to restore a home to it's original condition prior to freezing pipes back in February 2014. Here we are in June 2014 and they still are not done.

Response from SERVPRO
We have several challenges in our industry. This particular job, unfortunately, encompassed the most common of those; *"Like It Never Happened" and "Original Condition" are both standards we strive to meet. The meaning of these statements are prefaced with "like the "current damage" never happened and "original condition, "before the damage happened" and is also limited to only damages damaged caused by the loss in question and does not include wear and tear, old leaks, age, ect., to areas near or around the damage. On this same note, when a person has decided to rely solely on insurance funds, the covered work is dictated by the insurance adjuster, not a Servpro employee. *Persons other than the homeowner or person duly authorized by the homeowner CANNOT request, demand, require or otherwise dictate what work is or is not to be performed. In this particular case, the owner was in fact, out of town. The absence of an on-site owner was not an issue but the self appointed authority of an unauthorized person presented a very big challenge. Often, homeowners can and do appoint an on-site representative. This homeowner chose not to do that. *We do not choose our pricing. We (must use software that is designed, dictated and used by the insurance and building industries. The pricing is set by region. Once we create our invoices using this very detailed and fixed software, it is then scrutinized by the field adjuster, that is employed by the insurance company that pays us, it is then audited by the deck adjuster that is also employed by the insurance company that writes the check. There is little room for funny business and rarely are adjustments in the bill in our favor. We do not get paid commissions but we do pay commissions as we are a franchise, there are no kick backs or bonuses. 90% of our business is paid by homeowner's insurance. We must play by the rules or they simply will not allow us to work on their claims. *On this same note, adjusters also determine quality of materials. Most material items have 3 grades. Flooring is more specialized and is generally sent out to a company for analysis to determine quality and pricing so as to provide a fair number for the insured. We always save samples of the materials for evaluation and often keep the samples long after the project is completed *There are only so many things we can control. We are an emergency services provider. Sometimes we are required to triage. Once the job becomes "non-emergent work" we occasionally need to re-dispatch crew members for emergency service. Also, much of our work requires specialty vendors and sub-contractors, who in turn depend upon vendors and subs. This job required a customer built cabinet and counter top that was commissioned by a large, very reputable local business. The cabinet took a longer than expected and was something we could not control. *Mistakes do happen. We are human. Own it and fix it is the best we can do when a mistake does occur. We are very good at doing extra to fix a mistake. Our blooper here was using a flooring contractor that was less known to us. Our "go to", reputable flooring contractor, and consequently, the one the complainant noted as ""honest" first refused the job because of the on-site overseer. After a bit of arm twisting and a little mark up (that we are not able to pass on) they finally agreed and the issue was corrected to the satisfaction of the homeowner. *We highly value honest, accurate feedback. It is valuable in so many ways. Without it we have no way of knowing where we excel and where we fail. he very best morale booster is sharing good feedback from customers and the best training opportunities are real examples that can be discussed and learned from. We understand that we can not make everyone happy but do ask for the opportunity to know when there is an issue and the chance to correct it. In this case, I believe the homeowner was satisfied. The agent however, was un-satisfiable. As an aside, this home was built in 2000, purchased by this homeowner in 2007 for $340,000, was valued at $270,000 for 2013-2015, was listed by the complaining agent until it expired, for $285,000 in 20014 and sold for $245,000, by a different agent in 2015.

company came imediately after call to office. did the work efficiently. sent the bill and have waited as we tried to work things out with the insurance company. they called once to remind me of payment and so far have been very patient. we did not get reimbursed by the insurance company and will pay them out of pocket. but job was done well, quickly and i didnot have to badger them to send bill or pickup equipment
Description of Work: water leaked into the bedroom just three days after another company had dried out the room. they came in with dehumidifiers, fans and proceeded to tackle the problem
