BEAUCHENE'S WASTE SVC & GENL

Do not use this company. Although Mike Beauchene is a friendly and dedicated service provider, the company's business practices are unprofessional and hostile. Mike is also retiring soon, so there is no reason at all to use this company. We used Beauchene's waste collection for three years, and they were only rarely late due to winter weather. Mike drives the truck himself, and he's very friendly. We set up automatic payments via Square almost as soon as we started service. We've never had complains until we tried to stop service when we moved away. It took us more than six attempts via phone and email to cancel our service. Finally, we received a phone call from some guy calling on behalf of the company (I don't think he's actually an employee). He informed us we owe almost $800 of past due payments, despite us never having received a single notice that our payments had been missed or declined in the three years of our service. He also immediately starting bargaining for immediate payments and refusing to send documentation or explain discrepancies. He treated every request for an itemized invoice as if it were ridiculous and unacceptable. It took us multiple phone conversations over weeks to get an invoice. During the process, this person continued to pressure us for an immediate payment while ridiculing us for asking for documentation. He also contacted our former landlord and tried to convince the landlord to give him our security deposit--again without any documentation. When we finally got the first invoice, it only included an arbitrary total without any list of payments owed, list of payments made, dates, or any kind of details. We emailed again and immediately asked for an invoice that actually included details. We continued emailing and asking for an itemized list of charges to compare to our accounting, but we did not get it until a particularly distressing phone call with this person. During the last call, we were subject to his screaming, swear words, insults, both legal and personal threats, and sheer ridicule because of our only, continued request: to see an itemized list of charges. He also brought in a second person--again, not even sure she was an employee--to make additional insults and threats while screaming at us. By putting up with all of this, we were finally able to see the itemized list of charges (which do not even match the amounts he mentioned over the phone, or the first "invoice" that just had an amount listed on it). Under no circumstances should people ever have to put up with such aggressive and threatening business practices. A business that refuses to admit it could have made a mistake, doesn't keep detailed records of accounts, or intentionally fudges finances might be bad enough. But I would never recommend anyone use this business; refusing to provide itemized documentation of bills, pressuring for instant payments over the phone without an invoice, ridiculing and yelling at customers, and making threats are totally unacceptable business practices.
