 + 0 moreIt went well until I included their product in another project where I was not closely connected to the contractor. After a 6-month design process in pulling all FFE together around the Carlisle floor with quotes and specified products, the contractor and client went directly to my sales rep and purchased directly from them. I have been a designer for 30 years and enjoy building trusted relationships with manufacturers to secure the best prices for my clients. When a manufacturer then sells directly to the client or contractor for the same price, the relationship is undermined and broken. I will never use Carlisle again. Buyer beware as you will be undercut. There is no loyalty in this company.
Description of Work: I've used Carlisle in the past with great success. We actually drove from Toronto to their location to see the process and pick up our order. I thought I was building a relationship with a great supplier.

Description of Work: The worst, Carlisle recommend Royal Oaks Floors in Maryland to install the floor what mess see picture, Chris Sy refuses to make good on their recommendation, we asked for their insurance company information he refused as we want to file a negligent referral claim. These floors are not cheap $20,000.0

 + 0 moreThe proper amount of flooring was delivered except that 48% of the material had knots, man-made holes, discolored/stained area, and splits runing along the length of some boards. A complaint was made to Carlisle but they refused to do anything....they had my money! We decided to pick through what was delivered and order more to finish the job. Carlisle recommended installers arrived with minimum tools which did not include any sanding equipment: not even a hand sander. The installer disregarded my request that there be no knots and when I wasn't watching he would install a piece I would burn. We ordered more flooring from Carlisle to make up for the 48% that was not usable and got another surprise. This batch of floor had the same random knots, stains, holes, cracks, etc. with one added feature...the tongue-and-groves were 1/8 inches off. Because of this the entire floor required sanding..by hand..using my tools. This was an experience I would not like to relive. Carlisle Flooring has slick adds but their product and service is next to none...and I do mean NONE. I am glad to see that the Service Provider has access to my address and report.
Description of Work: Carlisle Wide Plank Flooring was hired to produce Heart Pine Flooring, ( 3/4 inches thick), without any knots , and the lengths of the flooring were to be such that there would be no butted joints. This was done to replace the existing Heart Pine floor which was over 100 Years old. They were provided with a part of the old floor so there would be no mistakes as to what we wanted. They were also required to provide an installer. I have documents to prove what I requested in the order, photos of what they delivered, photos of the finished product, and samples of the wood they delivered.

 + -1 moreI continue to design, sell, and install all species of wood floors. If Carlisle was the only saw mill producing hardwood flooring then I would stop installing before I'd buy from them. They have turn into a shady underhanded operation. There was a major change in the company when they took on an investor and Don Carlisle left the firm.
Description of Work: I am a design/install flooring company. I had a long term relatsionship with Carlisle for many years. We worked very close on several projects. What I thought was an above the table business partner turned out to be a oneway road. Their way or the highway mentality from thier management all the way to their sales staff. They do not, repeat, do not respect their customers. They sell themshelves as customer service and building relationships but bottom line is thay are only interested in their customers for the sake of a sale.
