Description of Work: Ripped up carpeting, linoleum and underlayment. Glued and 'screwed' new underlayment over 1"x8" plank boards and applied "snap-in-place" laminate ('plank') flooring on top. The flooring looks good and has a lifetime residential warranty. There was some settling over time and there are some ridges that shouldn't be there given the new underlayment. Norm Carrier was pleasant to work with, but has not responded to text and phone message call backs.

Norm was precise in his installation, measuring and aligning the panels so that they flowed perfectly from one room to the next. We debated installing the panels over the existing flooring, but Norm's recommendation was that we install a lauan underlayment first. The final result appears to be genuine hardwood flooring at less than half the 'prefinished' hardwood floor price. On top of that, the flooring is 100% waterproof and will be warranted longer than I am! The manufacturer's claim was that this was the easiest flooring to install. We didn't find that to be totally true. While easy overall, the panels left slight gaps between some panels that could not be totally be 'tapped' together; other seams were precise and tight. Glad I didn't try this myself; back surgery prevented that possibility. (The price included installation of the front door.)
Description of Work: This individual had been highly recommend by the realtor I had used when I bought this house. I was able to see a sample of his work at her office . Norm installed a new, energy-efficient front door prior to installing the underlayment and new 'plank' flooring. [This brand of flooring might be called 'laminate' by some, but it is a vinyl flooring with a lifetime residential warranty and is 100% waterproof which convinced me to install it not only in the living, dining and family rooms, but also in the kitchen, laundry room, back hall and utility rooms, too.]
