The reason we went with Home Depot was, we knew the company would be around for a long time, and would be able to find them in the event we had a problem. We signed with them in June of 2010 for approx. 14,000.00 dollars. There was a very good warranty, and figured they would be around to back it. The roofing they needed to do was all shingle work. We have a flat rubber roof (that was not part of the deal) and specifically stated that no one was to be on that rubber roof. Near the end of July, approx. 8 guys showed up at the house. Their boss was also with them (this time). They started removing the old roofing material, which took approx. 2 days. This house is a modifided cape with full dormers front and back, with an addition on both ends, with attached 2 car garage. The installation took approx. 3-4 full days. Both my husband and myself at different times had to tell these guys to get off the rubber roof. There was no reason for them to be on it. At first glance, the new roof looked good. The more I looked at it, at the peaks, they didn't look straight. The manufacturer of the shingles comes out and checks the work, and gives it a rating. Ours was not high on there chart, but before Home Depot could call us, it had rained out, and low and behold, our new roof was leaking in a couple of spots. I contacted Home Depot and they came out with the owner of the roofing company.(at first, they said it had to be the rubber roof) I had noticed prior to them coming out, that under the second floor window (there is a narrow piece of roofing that is the length of the house under 3 windows in back, in dormer, and 3 windows in front) the roofing material had not butted up against the house. There was at least a 1 inch gap. We assumed this was the problem, and the remedy was to flash that whole length of roof under the windows. (it's not pretty) The very next rain, it leaked again. (by the way, one leak was running down my drywall into the kitchen on the first floor, puddling up onto my counter) I had bare drywall at that time getting ready to redo the kitchen walls. I looked again at the flashing they had installed, and on either side of the windows, the flashing was cut to wide and there were gaping holes on the sides of the windows. Back comes the roofer who used clear silicone calking to fill in these holes. By now it was getting cold, and my house would have to wait until spring to figure this out. Come spring of 2011, we had some heavy rains, and of course the house was leaking, and a new leak showed up, or maybe we just were aware of this after having carpet removed, and having the wood floors redone that were under the carpet. In that room, we have wood ceilings. Water was dripping out of the wood ceiling onto a piece of wood furniture, onto the wood floor. I called Home Depot again and they came back without the roofer. Thinking it was still a problem around the windows on second floor, they added capping to the windows. Also, they added calking down the roofline trying to stop the other leak. Again, we had yet another rainstorm at night, and again we had water comming in. The next day, I took a hammer to the second floor drywall and opened it up hopping to see where it was comming in. I did find a bunch of wet insulation, but no leak. I called Home Depot again, and they sent "the last resort person in". THANK GOD because it didn't take long for him to know what the problem was. He didn't like the looks of a few things and sent his guy to the rescue. One of the chimneys had not been reflashed, and he had his guy pull some of the roofing off, and watershield up the side of the house, and re-roof that part. Also did this in another nearby area. I had suspected early on some of the flashing had been taken off, or had been damaged when removing the old roof. This fix came approx. 1 year after the roof was installed. I have damaged walls (which their insurance co. is in the process of looking at) This bill was put on our Home Depot credit card, deferred payment of 1 yr. I have asked to re-negociate the contract price (for obvious reasons) to no avail. I wanted the price to be dropped by 5,000.00 dollars, and was told no way that was going to happen. I am hopping Home Depot will re-think this in order to have a happy comsumer. Now I have to hire someone to come in, re-sheetrock some areas in the house, and hope I don't have any mold growing in areas that haven't had obvious water damage. There is an obvious lack of quality in this workmanship, and there was no boss watching his workers for at least 90 percent of the time. I will say, the people with Home Depot did try to remedy this, the problem was with the roofing co. they sent to do the job. One worker actually was fired from our job for (lack of quality) according to the owner of the roofing co. Bottom line, I didn't expect my roof to leak for a year, damage walls/ceiling, and hold me up a year to re-do my kitchen project.
Description of Work: The old roofing needed to be taken off, and new roofing installed.

First an estimator came out. He showed us options and gave us a quote. We then paid a deposit and two weeks later the fence was installed. The whole process was very professional.
Description of Work: We used Home Depot installation services to install fencing we needed. We were very pleased with the installation and quality of products. They were very professional and even worked during some rain.
