+ -1 moreSimmon's came in and helped us after pipes in an upstairs bathroom sprung a leak. They responded quickly, probed the ceiling with minimal impact, and found the root cause, a poor quality renovation where the previous contractor used mismatched materials that corroded after only a decade. They had us back online with our upstairs bathroom with intact plumbing within the day. We have also used them for other plumbing jobs and AC jobs. They are very good.

Couldn’t diagnose a simple problem and charged me over $1000 for telling Me that my sewer pipe Line was leaking which's it wasn’t. They are the absolute worst. Do not hire Simmons plumbing for any job or you will be sorry. They are totally incompetent !!!!!

+ 1 moreAfter we obtained several other estimates, Simmons Plumbing came in much lower and included more. The work was done in two full days. Sometimes a large team was at work, but most of the time it was two amenable young guys. They were polite, respectful, and easy to deal with. The old system was extracted without incident through bulkhead doors, and the new system carefully installed. The parts and functions were explained to us in detail. They left the area cleaner than they found it. Amazing team!
Description of Work: Removal of old heating system and installation of a complete new system with boiler, circulators, zone valves, and lots of copper pipe.

+ 1 moreWe met with John for the estimate and unlike other companies who came out he did not try to up sell us on a furnace that was more than needed for our space. We already had gas to our house but were switching from oil to gas. Simmons installed a new direct vent gas furnace, emptied and removed our old oil tank, and installed a new direct vent electric hot water heater. We did not need any changes to duct work. They were able to complete the work in 2 days and in time for Thanksgiving. The installation team was fast and professional. It has been 3 winters now since installation and and we have had no issues and the house is cozy. My one complaint is that during the estimate we were told about a yearly service plan. I did not get around to calling about it until several months after the installation. The Simmons receptionist did not seem to know what I was asking but said she would send someone out for an annual check up and then I could talk with the worker about getting on the plan. The worker did check out the furnace -no issues but said he did not know about the plan. That meant I had to pay almost $200 for just a check and a new filter and none of that $ went toward the annual protection plan (which may be needed for my warranty to be in force -not sure).

Description of Work: New 50 gal water heater. Very responsive and quick turnaround. Good quality. Service tech dropped a few F bombs in regards to how tight the space was to fit the water heater. He also left the big cardboard box the heater came in in the yard.

Description of Work: This is the second time we have used this company. First time was a year and a half ago when they replaced our oil heating with a gas heating system. Recentlyour air conditioner needed replacement and they were again called. Their representative came, reviewed information with me and gave price. They arrived at the time expected, completed the work in a professional and courteous manner, cleaned up completely, explained the work done, told me to call with any questions or problems and were gone within the time frame they had told me to expect.

Description of Work: The bathroom had an odor that smelled like sewerage and I had another plumber that came back a second time and had no idea what it was - thought it was mold or maybe a crack in the pipe and told me I would have to call a professional person that could scrub the slab floor, take out the sink cabinet, replace the whole floor with ceramic tile (I had laminate) and that it would be very expensive. I called Simmon's Plumbing for a second opinion and after explaining the problem and the advice of the previous plumber, he told me that it couldn't be anything but the toilet as the other plumber had capped the hole that the toilet sits on to keep the odor from escaping. I asked him if he would do a pipe investigation as well so it could relieve my mind. He did do the investigation and went as far as 50' inside the pipe to the outdoors. I watched the video as he was doing it and saw for myself that it was very clear and no cracked or broken pipes. He replaced the toilet as he told me over the phone and it has been almost 2 months and everything is great. |After paying 2 visits to the first plumber with no results, it was a pleasure and well worth the $650 for Simmons. The cost of the new toilet, the video camera and a knowledgeable plumber that knows about toilets and could tell me what the problem was over the phone is tops in my book. Thank you Simmons Plumbing.

+ -1 moreI've been inviting Simmons to my house since 2004; that is when they installed the water heater that just died now in 2014! Appointment was for 7:30 am and did not disappoint there. Workers are friendly, engaging, professional and did not dilly-dally wasting time going around in circles! Office folks very courteous and answered all my questions. Pricey??! Well I can't expect to pay what I did for my installation in 2004!!!! Also quality of work and product dependability is monumental to a homeowner. So far in all my years with Simmons; I have no complaint; now Home Depot???.......that's another story : (

+ -1 moreI am relatively new to the area. When I returned home from work last night around 8:30pm my boiler was not working. The Simmons Plumbing phone number was on a label on the boiler reflecting possibly that they installed it. I called the number twice last night (with a recording on their line that calls are returned within 20 minutes) - it is now 10;23am the following day - no return call. I contacted a competitor - he came last night and just left this morning - boiler is repaired.

When our work project was completed they came back to reconnect the lines as planned. There were some items which we had to discuss to eliminate confusion. Their billing dept. worked with us in a professional manner and returned calls in a timely manner. Satisfied customer!

+ -1 morePlumber was early, he called ahead, he fixed the problem in an hour. Also did a good job of "cross-selling" by asking who services our hot water heater.
Description of Work: A bathroom sink stopper was no longer working -- the stopper had disconnected. My plumber fixed the problem in an hour and I felt the rpice was reasonable, when you add parts in.

+ -1 moreAt my request, Simmons sent a repairman out to look at my heating system, which at the time was not producing any hot water. I wanted a second opinion on the nature of the problem and the cost of replacing the system. The repairman confirmed that the system could be repaired but that I would probably be better off replacing the system with a new one. He made an appointment for me with their sales representative, who explained what my options were and gave me a quote for the work. The quote was considerably lower than the first quote I had gotten to replace the furnace. I checked the company that made the gas furnaces and was satisfied with the equipment Simmons had recommended. The job was done in two days by a crew of two installers at the fixed price that I had agreed to. The installers showed up at the time I had been told they would and were happy to explain what they were doing and how the installation would work. The installation crew took away all of the old equipment and left the area they worked in completely cleaned up before leaving. The experience from my point of view was well handled from beginning to end.

+ 0 moreAlways had a good experience start to finish with Simmons, they are our on call company for plumbing and heating repairs. We use another company for maintenance of the heating system but may change over to all Simmons (nice to have multiples in waiting in case of heavy booking)
Description of Work: Emergency service for frozen pipes, came at off hours on Sunday, solved problems. Time and a half rates with a 2 hr minimum but what are you going to do? Came at a later date to drop in antifreeze, fix a plumbing issue, and work on a gas fill pipe. Always have had solid experiences with Simmons, no complaints. Techs are courteous and do a good job. Not cheap, but who is?

+ -1 moreRight from the very first appointment with John Soucy, the salesman, I had a good feeling that was backed up with him and his crew always showing up on the scheduled days and times! John answered every question in great detail and his crew always had the entire basement swept and cleaned up at the end of every day of the 2 1/2 day job! Everyone was extremely pleasant and I told the worker who wrapped all my duct work that he could return at Christmas to wrap my presents because the job was done to perfection! Keep in mind, that my house was built in 1838 and there were some tight areas but he didn't miss a spot! On the first day of the job, I asked if they might be able to continue an unfinished faucet line to an outdoor faucet, which they did for only $80.00, which I thought was very reasonable. The job was done over a Thursday and Friday and since John was booked with appointments and couldn't come by on Friday to personally see me about my satisfaction, he came by on that Saturday, on his own time. I can't say enough good things about the crew and will use them for all my plumbing and heating services from now on!

+ -1 moreTheir quote was really expensive and was way above the other quotes we got. We did not use them because we did not like the way they did the price of it basically. I just remembered the price being a lot bigger than it should have and they also did not discuss in detail as much as other companies did. Other companies talked to us about what was wrong, what needed to be changed and why.
Description of Work: Simmons Plumbing & HVAC came out in October of last year and gave us a quote to replace our heating unit.

+ -1 moreHe was due to arrive between 7:15 and 7:30 am and arrived at 7:20. Was very professional, courteous, focused on work. He worked fast and was focused. He explained what he was doing and listened well to what I wanted. He gave me choices. At $125 an hour I thought they were pricey, and time included driving to my home, which the office had not told me when I booked the work. He also took an unused piece of copper piping from my basement ceiling which had not been part of his work. Overall however, I was pleased.
Description of Work: Jason changed my washing machine and outside faucets because they leaked. He removed an upstairs toilet and pipe and changed my kitchen sprayer because it leaked.

+ -1 moreSigned the contract which stated I would pay half up front and half when install was completed. Within an hour they had removed the total amount from my bank account. For the next 2 weeks they did not return any of my calls or emails inquiring when the install would be scheduled. The contract stated to use the existing thermostat, however any quality plumber would know that the thermostat was for heat only and I would need a replacement of the thermostat. The electrician Simmons contracted with had no choice but to replace the thermostat. A month later entire heating/air conditioning system is dead. It turns out the thermostat runs on 2 AA batteries. When I complained to Simmons, I was informed I should not have received a new thermostat so tough luck. Had to work with the Better Business Bureau to get it resolved. Simmons owner Brad responded to the Better Business Bureau the same that I was not to have the thermostat replaced and that I had a private arrangement with the electrician. This is a lie. Beware there is something shady about how Simmons does business.
