Strogen's Service Experts

First off the furnace was running fine it was a schedule yearly cleaning. Tech showed up on Friday morning service furnace. Wife and I left came home Sunday at 1 pm to a house at 40 degrees. So I removed my furnace door to hit reset. When doing so I noticed my nice washable filter that the technician said was perfectly fine thé year before and explain no need to replace it and took time to show us how to wash and clean it. Well this year the technician took it apon him self to take my filter and he tapped two cardboard filter together with duct tape looked like a first grader did this. So unprofessional. So after hours of sitting in cold because the rester didn’t work and apparently you can not speak to any one who speaks English at the call center a tech finally came out changed everything the first tech did but installed the proper fuel nozzle then had to reset air fuel again after the correct nozzle was installed. I showed him the tape together filters and he was surprised. I have since tried calling to get my filter back called as many as 7. -10 time and promised a super visior would call back never got a call. Also asked for a bill with the list of parts they changed never got the invoice. A week before I called about central air and quote well this guy was late because he had to pick kids up at school. He showed up goes out in truck comes back in two quotes one for 82,00.00 and one for 11,200.00 dollars. And all they said was unit number ////: and the price nothing about parts used or labor just install central air. So still no call back and I will not recommend them to any one and when someone ask about them I will describe our dealings and strongly suggest them not to use them and will never say a good thing about them. They suck

Fine. Showed up on time. Reviewed everything, said all was in good working order. Gave some pointers about installing Nest thermostats and left. Was good to get on regular Strogen's call list.

The service person stated that it is working now but could not identify why it was not working. The service person said that it would be difficult to get parts for my furnace, but there were no parts that were identified as needing replacement. The service person was prompt, courteous and easy to deal with. I received a call the next day asking to give me a quote on a new furnace, which was strange. I would definitely not purchase a furnace from a company that cannot tell me what is wrong with the current furnace. I felt as if this company is more interested in replacing furnaces rather than repairing older furnaces.

We went eleven days without air conditioning. Someone came in who knew what they were doing and put it back together the correct way and we haven't had a problem since. We have a yearly maintenance with them. I would not recommend them to friends or neighbors. The first guy that came to fix it, screwed it up worse. He came our again and screwed it up more. Then they said they would send their best guy out to fix it. So the best guy came out with all the parts and he fixed it and we haven't had a bit of problems with it since. I have to think it was the knowledge of the man who was doing the work rather than the equipment. The grades are based on the "best guy". He was very good, on time and a good experience.

They are real nice and very professional.

They are good; I would recommend them. Brothers own the company, but they recently sold it to a larger company. They used to work on the boilers at my church so I have hired them for lots of jobs. I have a service contract with them so they come and keep it up. I have used them for many, many years. Their price is actually pretty reasonable if you stay within their thing which is maintaining modern heating and HVAC. They are not as good for steam so that is why I don't use them for steam. Their prices are not bad and they usually have good techs. Their quality is excellent. They are really good and I would recommend them. If they are going to be late, or whatever, and are going to be tied up they are a very good about calling you. They will call you on the way over so actually they are very responsive to the customer.

It was a snowy night and I couldn't get anyone else to come out other then Strogen's. The cost was very reasonable.

THE GOOD - The guy that did the cleaning was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. THE BAD - When I called in to setup an appointment I was told it would be $118. I had shopped around for the lowest price so I snagged an appointment. A day before my service date I got a call and was told that i was quoted for a gas cleaning rather than an oil cleaning. And that price would be $190. I was a little upset but I can understand the confusion. Reluctantly i kept the appointment because of how long the waiting list was. She offered to shave $10 off for the mix-up which I appreciated, but i do not believe was ever applied to my bill. When the guy was done the cleaning i was billed for $210. The price inconsistency was very frustrating and a bit concerning.

The telephone service rep didn't understand my issue and when fully explained still refused to discuss service. They claim they have had problems in the past which makes absolutely no sense at all. I offered both brokers be present as would be the case with any home sale. They simply wouldn't be cooperative.

I couldn't have been more impressed with the professionalism and service that Strogen's provided. From day one of requesting a quote and having Steve come in less than an hour of my call - to the last day of the project when I was asked if everything was to my satisfaction. OUTSTANDING! I was very impressed that Steve asked so many questions to determine what I wanted and then gave me options for what would work best in my home and with my budget. This was not an easy job. It included very tight spaces, an antique house, and historic district restrictions. The team finished the project early and kept me informed of the progress every day. They were always on time and worked throughout the day non-stop. I thought that since this was a new install that the house would be a wreck, but to my surprise it was as clean as they found it at the end of each day. I have been using the system for a few weeks now and couldn't be happier. It delivers exactly what I was told it would do. Strogen's has definitely earned a very loyal customer. They were not the least expensive quote I received, but I chose them because Steve was so fantastic during the interactions we had while he was quoting the system. I feel that my money was well spent, and after seeing what they did, feel that what I paid was actually very reasonable. I will be having them back next year to install another system on my first floor and will definitely be signing a contract for continued service in the future. I really do not feel that this review does them justice - they were honestly superb! A+ rating across the board!

You'll note that A+ is not a rating option, but these folks deserve it. This is the HVAC provider in the region, and perhaps the country. They have a team of professionals, are responsive, and know how to resolve whatever arises. We have a complex HVAC environment with multiple zones and they manage it masterfully. We are now under a service contract which they honor completely and at every turn. We should all be so fortunate as to have a Strogen's in our lives. Thank you.,

Installing went very well. Installer knew their job. afterward, installer went over all instructions for the 2 units. I was home during the installation, but was not bothered by the installers. They ceaned up nicely after the job was done. (drilling mess etc was cleaned up)

Ive bought service contracts with Strogen's for all my rental properties for years...Ive had them service boilers, furnaces, and monitor heaters in all my rentals as well as my primary residence, but Ive never needed to call them for an emergency until a few weeks ago. One of my tenants heat stopped working in the middle of February when the temps were near 0 - I immediately called Strogen's Service Experts to have them get it fixed. Again - the FIRST time I ever called for an emergency like this. I called around 4am, at about 4pm they were finally there...the tech informed me the thermostat stopped working. He said he replaced the thermostat but some pipes had froze and theres nothing he could do. So he turned off the boiler and left. They left the property with my tenant with zero heat, frozen pipes, and bitter cold temperature outside. Not only did they do nothing...they charged me $203 for a thermostat replacement. On top of the thermostat they charged me $75 for "thaw machine" and $84 diagnostic fee. That $362.00 bill was INCLUDING my 15% discount for having a service contract... So to sum it up - they charged me $362 to replace a thermostat and fix NOTHING. After these people left I contacted a different heating company who PROMPTLY showed up, thawed the pipes and replaced a section that had burst, and got the boiler going again...they actually fixed the problem and still charged me LESS than Strogen's. Like I said above, Ive used them for numerous properties over the past few years and given them thousands of my dollars in service...the one time I really needed them they totally failed me. Strogen's Service Experts will never see a dime of my money again. They'll gladly take your money for some regular cleaning/service but if you have an emergency in the middle of winter you're wasting your time and money with them.

Prompt, professional - cleaned after themselves. Even saved me money by getting e on the service plan - without it the bill would have been another few hundred dollars.

They spent hours and hours taking the furnace all apart and meticulously cleaning every little piece and the connections to the oil tank. They found a piece that needed to be replaced and we were worried when he said "if this doesn't fix you may need a new system." They were able to fix it for very little money - which I felt was very honest. Anyone in this type of position could say "you need a new furnace" and how would I know? I would just have to buy a new one. Strogen's actually looked for alternative fixes first.

They were very punctual, examined our boiler and determined that it was not worth repairing. The service tech contacted the office and had a sales representative come out to meet with us. He was very personable and gave us good information on new systems but the price was far more then we had anticipated. We did not use them.

The tech arrived on time and was very professional. The tech was very efficient and did a great job of cleaning up after the work was complete.

The service representative had an accommodating schedule. He spent time taking notes on my home to provide an accurate quote. Ultimately I was unhappy with the hands off approach to removing the old boiler and oil tank. Having to take care of it myself with yet another company was out of the question. I also had to follow up to receive the written quote otherwise I would have rated responsiveness higher.

Phone contact was great, they confirmed appointment by email and called when they was on the way. Service technician was professional and knowledgeable. Answered all my questions and went over the whole system as well as completing service.

They did a great job. I have an agreement with them. They checked, cleaned and prepped my air conditioning unit. He cleaned it and made sure it was fully charged. The second part of the contract is them coming in the fall to check the furnace for the winter. I was happy with his service and the thing is working like a champ. Some mice got in and chewed up all the cable. He was able to repair all of that and got rid of a huge mice nest. He did a great job and things are working great since he was here.

We were having difficulty with our furnace. They called me back immediately on a Friday night. They came over and showed us how to operate the furnace as it was a new house for us and we were not sure. Turns out there wasn't a problem and the technician didn't charge us. Will Definetly use them again

They were a good company. I would probably use them again.

They arrived on time and performed the work satisfactorily and were completed in the estimated time they gave me. No complaints.

Overall went very well although not without a hitch. The important part is that the company stepped up and did what it takes to make things right and that is what you want in a company especially when you are replacing your heat/hot water in the beginning of winter. They had two screw ups, one they ordered the furnace as a propane although it was supposed to be natural gas, the installers realized this after all was in and they scrambled for a fix at one point explaining it may take a couple days, this was at 5pm Friday. I got on the phone and about an hour later a guy showed up with the conversion kit and got everything running. The second was they ordered the wrong hot water heater and it was a special order and could not be adapted. They did the right thing and pulled an upgrade from another order and got things working before the end of the day. I was impressed with the installers, good guys and really know their stuff and always were courteous and kept me updated of progress. They did such a good job I rehired them in the spring and had them do the central air unit. All of the plumbing and electrical is top notch and they are expensive but they do things right.

They are locally owned and the experience with them was good. They did a really good job; they are here within the time frame that they say and the technicians do a really good job. We have 2 AC units and 2 heating units and the service plan was under $100 for the whole thing.
