Turns out our basement problem has been solved! The only plumber I called (I called ten plumbing companies that advertised 24 hours service) who really is 24 hours service came out at 10 pm last night and figured out that our new sump pump had a defective float mechanism. Great guy who used to be an intelligence analyst in the Marines. Hence the name of his company Sargent Smithâ s Drain Cleaning Services. The owner is Micah Smith. 207-432-9378. Great service and very fair pricing. All 5 star reviews on every app.It turns out the Zoeller pumps you can buy at Home Depot are not as good as the Zoeller pumps a plumber buys at a plumbing supplier that are made entirely of cast iron and have a more reliable float mechanism. Like the way Koehler makes â big box storeâ Home Depot versions of their bath products that are different and not as good. The float valve on the Zoeller we had in there was defective so it was running every 20 seconds and eventually overheating/ stopping every few hoursâ ¦ flooding our basementâ ¦ bc it was only running on the backup float which has a very short run cycle. He also put in an alarm alongside the new pump that will alert us with a smoke detector type loud beeping noise if there is an issue with water in the basement. Couldnâ t be more pleased.

After having been in a total panic over our sewer back-up for weeks, William came in and took care of the problem in less than 30 minutes! He was extremely nice and courteous, explaining everything he was doing, informing us on preventive measures on our end, and calculated quotes for a future project. He even took the payment over the phone from my brother. The bill was precisely what we were quoted, and an amazing price it was, at that. Don't look elsewhere, call them first!

The owner responded right away and Jeff showed up within a couple hours. He was wonderful! Professional and helpful and kind.

I called because my kitchen drained was clogged. I got a quote and Jeff was at my door in less than an hour. It was not considered an emergency either. It was not an easy fix because it is a mobile home but Jeff worked tirelessly until the problem was resolved. He was professional and courteous the entire time. Will definately call them if I have issues again.
