I contracted with Aaron to finish off my basement. I could not be any happier with the level of service and expertise! I highly recommend Aaron for any home project. He is reliable, honest and does great quality work! Not only did he complete the project but he also offered do help with other odds and ends that came up at my house while he was here working. You will not be disappointed.

Aaron couldn’t be a nicer guy but unfortunately has no professionalism. He gave me an estimate of when the job would be done and brought in a friend of his to do the plumbing who we paid separately. Aaron knew with 2 toddlers and a protective dog that I’d have to make arrangements to be out of the house. I did so and he would show up late and take long lunches. I got worried the work wouldn’t get done in time but was assured it would. In the end we were left with a rush job of a bathroom (3 chipped tiles, missing grout, silver nails in my hardwood) and a non functional kitchen. The countertop looked hideous between the rush cuts and the plumber damaging it when installing the sink- again rushing. They didn’t communicate well (but said they would do the communication) so rushing the last 2 days made what work was done look terrible. Aaron left us with a broken countertop and non functional kitchen on a Friday before a long weekend. He then asked my husband for the full amount and my husband sadly felt pressured and didn’t want to make anyone mad for fear the work wouldn’t get fixed- so he paid him. Aaron never should have asked for the money without the job being complete. After we called and complained, Aaron came back on Tuesday and fixed the tiles and grout issues and helped install a new countertop (but his friend paid for it and did 95% of the work even though we paid Aaron for this job). It’s now a week from the day the job should have been done and the kitchen still isn’t finished because the plumber is trying to fit it in with his other commitments. Aaron had no interest in making it right and if he stayed and helped his friend this would have been all done by now. I rarely write bad reviews but I’m sad that we were taken advantage of by a seemingly nice guy. When I met him I told him about another contractor that left an unfinished job and he promised me he wouldn’t do that to me. This isn’t even all of it. Beware.

I gave "responsiveness" a bit of a lower grade because there were some lapses in communication early in the process. But once I knew what the holdup had been (permits from town, etc.), it was a bit more understandable. I'd advise reaching out to the client to let them know the scoop. Aside from that, we are thrilled with the roof, railing and stairs Aaron and his cohort (I've forgotten his name) built for us. The two of them are great guys and I felt very comfortable with them at our house. Everything is rock solid, and is even endorsed by my husband, who can be a bit of a stickler. Another biggie: it was on budget. On of our big asks was that we had the roof in place before the snow flew, and sure enough, the roof was up and sealed up the day before the first snowfall of the season (late October or early November). I'd highly recommend LaCoss Carpentry and if there's something more we want to do in the future, Aaron will be on our short list.

Aaron made a very good first impression and put me at ease with the work I needed done. He was honest in his assessment of the work to be performed and even took the time to come back a second time and go over the final details prior to me setting up the job. Aaron always communicated well with me, was on time, kept the work area clean, and always available for questions I had. I must say that writing reviews is not something I normally do but since I appreciated his work ethic, and his demeanor, my writing this is long overdue.
Description of Work: Kitchen Rehab and Drywall Work
After having several handyman in and they all giving me their opinion shyed away from the job. I was getting frustrated. Called Aaron and he came over right away and saw what I needed to have done. He was positive, knew what he was talking about and was eager to help me out. I liked him from the very start. He told us what he would do. Rip the sub floor up and put new tiles down. Install the proper baseboard. Rebuild the half wall in the shower to check for leaks and seal it better. Repair the bathroom vent, Paint the whole room. Removed the vanity, toilet ( found the wrong gasket installed under the bowl and fixed it. )Tightened up fixtures and brackets. And so many other things. He would explain everything he was doing or was going to do. Very smart and knowledgable. He was clean and never left a mess. He was prompt and stayed on the job until completion. We asked him for references and he gave us five. I called two and was rest assured that he was the man for the job. We had to wait several months for him to get to the job but the bathroom was functional so that didn,t bother us. The old story, " good things are worth waiting for was true in this case. My wife was extremely happy with the job. We were so lucky to have Aaron work for us. I will always call him first for my next projects.
Description of Work: My bathroom was renovated by a contractor found on craig's list. After spending $20,000 on labor and material the job was a complete mess. A new shower leaked and ruined the floor, Floor tiles were installed wrong ( he could not read the directions ) glue all over the new floor . Baseboard only glued on and started falling off. Poor paint job. Wrong seal on toilet. Tub tiles mismatched and left a mess. Door jams cut short exposing a 1 inch gap between floor and jam. He would show up sporaticly and always have an excuse for the poor quality of work. For example, he said the floor tiles by armstrong were not all sized the same. They had directional arrows that he couldn't or didn't follow. When he left for the day the place was a mess, in and outside the house. Left windows and doors open, the dog got out. Couldn't get the tub drain to work properly. I had to show him that he installed it crooked. Just a butcher. I NEEDED HELP.

Responded to initial email promptly. Setup a site walk through and contractor showed up on time. Contractor was polite, clean cut and affable. Followed up shortly after with a plumber walk though. Reached out multiple times to get a quote/next steps, which was met with various reasons it could not be provided. Contractor vanished with no follow up or reason as to why the work could or could not be performed. Based off personality alone, this contractor had our business. However, I would be leery of recommending due to lack of follow up as in today's world with emails, Angie's list messaging and texting, there is no reason for not receiving a go/no go follow up on the work we needed performed on our home.

Sent request through angies list. Responded a week after I sent it. Came over quickly as he is located a few minutes from my house. Took down information about window and porch. Said would give a quote by the weekend. Never received anything. Another week went by and nothing. I sent a follow up email and got a response he was busy and would get something to me by the weekend. Still nothing. No quote no job from me. Just be honest and just say you don't want the job instead of leaving customers in the dark with no communication. If he had responded, I have a whole house that needs remodeling which would be thousands of dollars in work for him but guess I will have to find someone else to give my money too.
Description of Work: Wanted a quote on adding an exterior door and adding a window. Also wanted a quote on fixing the side porch for a project for the fall or following spring.
Adan showed on the day schedule and worked steadily until the projects were completed on schedule. Adan was flexible on some changes we made in the project. On some bigger changes he was fair with his pricing. He was professional, neat and pleasant to work with.
Description of Work: Family room in the basement and a three season room finished with knotty pine. Work included electrical which Adan coordinated.

They had never put up one before and did not want to give us a written estimate due to that fact. The cost was about 1/3 more for labor than we anticipated which was quite a blow to us financially. They did a good job, started when they said they would and worked very well during the time they were there. We would hire work done again but never without a written estimate. We are, in fact using Lacoss Carpentry this spring to put up the final vinyl siding on the front of the building since cold weather overtook us prior to completion.

We loved the outcome. Lacoss Carpentry was reliable, and pleasant to work with.
Description of Work: Aaron and his team, partially took down a wall, and did a lot of drywall repairing after we had a leak in our house. They fixed our ceiling, which was textured, and made it flat. They also painted both rooms they were working in, and repaired the crown molding. It doesn't sound like much, but it was a lot of work. It all came out beautiful. We love how open our living room is now, and love the non-textured ceiling. it all looks great! I would definitely hire Lacoss Carpentry again. They were reliable, and very reasonably priced. Aaron stayed exactly to the price he estimated.

Aaron LaCoss from LaCoss Carpentry did such an amazing job on every stage of the project that we hired him to do. He is capable of doing it all, from frame to finish. The quality of each stage of the project he performed was excellent. He is very thorough and such a perfectionist, especially when it comes to the finish details. I was very pleased with the price he charged for the project and would highly recommend him to my family and friends for their carpentry needs.
Description of Work: Installed new roof, laminate flooring, bathroom tile floor, doors, sheetrock, walls and ceilings, crown molding, baseboard trim, window trim, door trim, garage door opener, exterior stairs, rebuilt entire enclosed porch and rehung windows.
Aaron is a fantastic carpenter and is very meticulous in his work. He points out any problems he may see while doing the job (my home was built in 1976) and saved me from further problems down the road and saved me money in the process. Aaron works alone so the job will take longer than you might have anticipated but it is well worth the delay. His attention to detail and quality of work is the best I have seen in my forty years of hiring contractors. He is also a finished carpenter and did outstanding work on the many projects I had him do on the interior of my house. I also thought he was very reasonable and fair regarding the cost of my projects and he will never leave behind any cuttings or debris from the work site as he cleans up after every work day.
Description of Work: He removed aluminum siding from house and vinyl siding from garage and added new siding with all new trim. Also installed new doors, crown molding, baseboards, create closet, as well as repair bathroom tile in interior of house. Replaced windows, garage doors, entry door and reconfigured large door for the loft. Removed old deck and replaced with TREX material Repositioned all electrical, lighting units, faucets, dryer outlets, etc. on the outside of house in order to place sturdy mounts to match. siding.
