I cross checked Angie's list and yelp and found Nathan. It was late when I called, but he came the next day (at the exact time promised) and had changed out the switch within an hour (including going out to get a new switch...I am in downtown portsmouth). He also did a quick look the rest of hodgepodge of switches and outlets in the apartment, which is retrofit into an early 1700's building, and pointed out one other thing to be done (which I can do myself, being a civil engineer). It was fast, easy, and well priced.

Nate came to give an estimate and was on time. He gave our problem a quick fix (at no cost) which was appreciated. He said all of the right things telling us what he would do to add new outlets, make each bedroom on their own circuit, etc. It was exactly what we wanted. When we scheduled the service he worked for 2 days with no communication as to the progress. He let us know it was taking longer than expected so would need another half day. No problem. On the end of the last day, I anxiously went home to see a smoke detector NOT on the ceiling but on the wall at eye level in the entry way.I saw extra outlets which I was please with but then in talking with him afterwards found out he ran all new outlets (from various rooms) to one circuit and all of the old (from various rooms) to another circuit. NOT what we discussed or something he ran by us at all. I feel he did this in order to keep save on his time and money and not do more work than he intended. The functionality I was hoping to gain was only 10% of what I had hoped for. I will never call him again.

Nate Moss at Moss Electric is one of the best contractors I've worked with. We bought our house several months ago and so I've needed him for several things over several visits and he is always on time, pleasant to work with, extremely honest and fair, does great work, and is reasonably priced! My only hesitation is in writing him this first review on Angie's List is because I need him for a few other things and am afraid this will cause him to be too busy when I need him =)
