Irving Oil

The propane company does the heating. They make sure the boiler is working well and the pipes are working well. It's kind of a full service. They're good, we've had a good experience with them.It varies, maybe $150. They're pretty competitive. I haven't had any problems. They're definitely responsive.

I think it was just an annual cost, I wanna say maybe $200 for the year or something like that. I believe twice a year. Their responsiveness was good. We've sometimes weren't fully impressed with their knowledge of the system that we have. I think it was worker specific.

It has now been 4 1/2 months and we've heard nothing from Irving. 4 weeks ago I called to complain and was assured someone would call us to set up a date and timer by "tomorrow". Still, no one has called us! Keep in mind the propane boiler needing parts continues to run all this time. Is this safe? Service stinks despite the thousands of $ we pay them every year.

Other than being expensive they are good. They come out when ever you call them. I have two house under contract with them.

They sent someone to check our furnace for us. They opened the furnace and checked everything in it and checked the chimney. They made sure the furnace was running well. They were very good. I don't believe they had to change in parts. It was working ok before they came out but we wanted to have it checked as we didn't know when last time it had been done from prior owner. They were very professional, and very nice.

He was also very nice and very professional. They recommended that we have it checked every year. He told me how long the furnace would last. He gave us a lowdown on everything with the furnace.

We have an annual service with us where they come out and clean out the furnace, service it, and replace any parts needed. It also covers certain repairs, things like that, you can also step it up, the service guys make an appointment for an hour, and you don't have to wait all day. The guys are professional, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, accommodating, and will connect you with someone else on the phone if they can't answer the question. I haven't compared prices, they have everything, we now have a gas dryer, they installed the line for the propane, they were fast, and showed up on time. They had to extend the line for the propane, they didn't install the water heater, but, they will come out and fix it. They are a little high and we have been using them since 2005.

Over a period of roughly two weeks, Irving Energy's service personnel were completely unresponsive. I was informed on four separate occasions that the individual who hooked up my gas dryer would contact me with questions pertaining to the hook-up of my gas grill. Not only did that individual never contact me despite my repeated attempts to follow-up, a manager who I was told would contact me never did so. Each time I called to inquire as to why I hadn't heard from the technician, I was informed that he would get back to me by the end of the day. When I finally asked to speak to a manager I was informed that the manager would get back to me by the end of the day. In every instance no one from Irving ever contacted me. When I called to cancel my service I was immediately put in touch with a manager. It is worth noting that the front-line personnel at Irving are pleasant and courteous.

The installation was pretty good overall but cleanup left a lot to be desired. There were tracks in and out of our house and debris was left inside and out.
