These guys did an awesome job. I called them and they got back to us quickly and came out to assess the floor. We had an old laminate floor in our kitchen and then a giant thick threshold to the adjoining wood floor in dining area. They ripped up the laminate floor. They updated the subfloor and put down the new wooden floor. Here's why we were so impressed - they not only were able to PERFECTLY match the new wood floor with a very old wood floor - they sanded the old floor and refinished it. But they were able to level the two floors so they were one and get rid of this awful hump of a threshold. The price was very fair and they did such a good job. I thought they were super professional and responsible and Ron seems like a really good guy. We had other people come and give us some wild prices and no guarantees of matching the wooden floors or truly leveling the floors. But these guys did and I would absolutely hire them again for future hardwood floor stuff!!!

Ron removed roll flooring and underlayment in the kitchen, then sanded and finished the red birch floor that was underneath. There was an area of the flooring that had to be replaced because it was heavily stained. Ron was VERY punctual when he came to my house to quote the job, as well as when he actually did the work. Removing roll flooring and underlayment was a difficult and nasty job (some of the other contractors I interviewed wouldn't even quote the job), but he did cheerfully and very well. Removing and replacing the stained flooring was also difficult and challenging, as he had to cut the old boards in a difficult place under the kitchen cabinets, then sand the new boards down to match the height of the existing flooring. He then applied polyurethane. The end result was excellent and I was more than satisfied with the result. Ron also completed the job before Thanksgiving (which was a squeeze). There were a few minor problems that I told Ron about, but he came back and fixed those problems promptly and cheerfully. I would recommend Ron whole heartedly to anyone.

They were very nice about it. It was very thorough. They quoted me for $2200. They were very professional. They went over, gave me an estimate and gave me some feedback on what to expect. They did what they were supposed to. They met my expectations. They were very responsive. I would consider getting another quote from them in the future.

Ron and his crew were prompt and professional. The quote included all possible price increases so there was no surprises. They fixed problems as they arouse and did additional work when asked. Ron was always reachable by phone and very responsive.

We just purchased a new home and had about a week after closing before our movers were scheduled to arrive. The floors in our new home hadn't been touched in years, so we wanted to refinish and freshen up the floors while the house was still empty. We called Ron Wilson & Sons based on the rave reviews on Angie's List, and they certainly lived up to their reputation. Ron was prompt at following up and walked us through the various options to consider when refinishing floors. He showed up at our walk-through prior to closing to check out the space and was incredibly flexible with our hectic time frame, including rearranging his team's schedule after our close was unexpectedly pushed back a day. His team was incredibly friendly, arrived promptly when they said they would and were very respectful of our space, constantly cleaning up after their work. Ron and his team finished on schedule and we couldn't be happier with the finished product. We would highly recommend Ron Wilson & Sons for any hardwood flooring needs and would definitely work with them again!

Ron and his team were punctual each day, kept the dust to a minimum (which was a huge relief) and did a quality job!

I had an excellent experience with them. I liked their job. The crew was very professional, very polite and very clean. They did a neat job. The owner made sure that everything was done right. They were on top of things.

We hired Ron Wilson & Sons to refinish the pine (sub)flooring in our living room, dining room, and three small bedrooms. The floors were pretty damaged and we were clear that we weren't expecting any miracles. They re-sanded and polyurethaned the area with a standard three coats. The floor looks awesome - it totally exceeded our expectations. There was very little required from us during the process: we let them in on the first day, then left a check for them on the third. We weren't living in the house at the time of the refinish, so it was more convenient for us to just let them do what they needed to do, then check in at the end of the day to see the progress. As noted in other reviews, this company is extremely responsive to questions and requests. After going back and forth with other contractors for weeks, it only took one email to set up a refinish with RW&S. We sent them an email at 6:30 AM (saying that we'd be available after 7:00 AM) and they got back to us right at 7:00. We'd definitely work with Ron Wilson & Sons again. They did exactly what we needed when we needed it, and the price was very fair. Highly recommended.

Ron came out to provide a quote and was right on time and very professional. We agreed on a start date and his crew came at the date and time he stated. When everything was finished I noticed a couple spots that didn't look quite right, so I called Ron to come take a look. He agreed that a couple spots needed to be redone so he and his crew came back out at no additional charge to correct the floors. Now they looks perfect and i am very satisfied.

Ron was great, he was very accommodating, especially since I wasn’t there, and he was very easy to work with. The price was not high or low, I thought it was reasonable. I have used him once in 2009 also. He does good work, it is not expensive, and it is quick. He is usually available and flexible. He is an easygoing guy, which is nice sometimes.

I did not hesitate to call Ron back when I was ready to begin the second half of my refinishing project. I had taken his advice on which rooms to do at the same time and I'm glad I did. Ron even built a little ramp which spanned over the corner of one of the floors so my son with special needs could get from room to room without stepping on the wet floor. Ron and his guys arrived at the same time each day as promised and got right to work. His system is truly dustless, there isn't even a film of dust on any of the artwork on my walls. There was no damage to the baseboards, no bubbles, no missed spots- perfect.

As above they are beautiful. If I knew how to attach a picture I would do so. I wish I had taken before and after pictures so you could see the difference. It is amazing.

I had four tradesmen come in to quote on installing a new hardwood and refinish the existing floors, all were listed in Angie's List. My biggest concern was where the new floor butt up to an existing floor. I was concerned with them matching. One company insisted that matching was never going to happen and refused to bid. Another claimed that a match was impossible but did quote. The third quoted the job but was going to add a stain to the new section to achieve a "close" but not perfect color match. Ron Wilson said that he would guarantee a 90% to 95% match without any stain. He even came over to do a sample section to ease our concerns. He showed up when he said he would. Finished the job when he said he would, and you can not see a difference between the new floor and the existing floor.

Ron was very prompt in responding to my inquiry and provided a detailed estimate. However, I got a bad feeling at 5pm the day before he was scheduled to come and I hadn't heard from him to let me know when he planned on coming to the house. I contacted him around 5:30 and he was very apologetic about not getting back to me. After he sanded and applied the semi gloss polyurethane, we waited 24 hours before inspecting the job. We were unhappy to find hairs and pebbles imbedded in the polyurethane as well as bubbles, missed spots, and swirls in the finish. Ron was very cooperative in addressing the problems. He buffed down the top layer of polyurethane and applied a new coat of polyurethane. However, he applied a different polyurethane that looked like a satin finish rather than a semi gloss and we still had some imbedded materials in the finish. Ron came out and spoke with us, looked at the problems, and he was willing to work with us. However, he felt believed that the finish was semi gloss, but it just looked flatter because it was a different brand. He said the only way we might be able to get the finish we wanted was to go with a full gloss, but he wasn't confident in what the results would be. We were not willing to take another risk with him at this point. Given his track record with us, we decided to end work with him and go our separate ways. We had another floor company come in to finish the work and they let us know that he did not vacuum well enough and there was still a load of dust the other company had to clean up before they started work. Our experience was consistent with the other post about the company on Angie's list. He does try very hard to work with the customer, but overall the product he delivered was not what we expected from him and we spent another $500 to finish the job he started with another company. He is a fair and good guy, but the company should focus on improving their product to avoid the problems we had.

Ron and his crew arrived about 10 minutes early on the start date (8/25/09). We were out of the house until 8/27/09, during which time the work was completed. When we returned home on the 27th, we noticed that there was a lot of grit embedded in the finish on the floors and that there were small amounts of sawdust polyurethaned to the corners of the closets. We were particularly disappointed in this because we understood that the sanding would be accomplished using a dustless system and that this technique was designed to minimize grit. We called Ron in the morning on 8/28 to let him know about the problem. He was working for another client that day and he came back to our house at 5:00 on the 28th. He was very accommodating about the situation. He apologized and he returned on Saturday, 8/29 to do another light sanding of the floors and to apply another coat of polyurethane. Unfortunately, when we returned on 8/30, we realized that there were several spots that didn't get any polyurethane. We were, at this point, two days behind schedule returning our furniture to the house. We were not able to delay another day because our children were returning to school, so my husband bought some polyurethane and applied it to the missed spots himself. Ron is a very nice man and I think he is trying hard, but I don't think I would hire him again.
