Ron Wilson & Sons Hardwood Floors in Mass & NH

They did a fantastic job!!! My new white ash hardwood floors are gorgeous! Ron was a font of knowledge about the subject and I'm so glad I chose his company. His installers are hardworking, professional, and all around did a terrific job. I'm over the moon about these floors.

Contacted him on 6/29 and heard back on 6/30 with price and tentative start date for early August. I had a few follow on questions but got no response. I left two voice mails and emails, but still no response. After waiting almost a month and with August fast approaching, I sent another email on 7/26/16 stating that if I don't hear back from you by 7/28, your services are no longer required and you will get an F in Angies list. He then immediately responds with "do you expect me to work for you if you threaten me?" My response to him was as follows: ------------------------- Interesting that you don’t even try to explain why you did not respond. Interesting that you are the one who feels abused. Interesting that you did not even bother to consider this from the customers perspective. Here are a few things you fail to realize about how being unresponsive reads to your customers: • If you are unresponsive, then that makes it difficult for me to schedule when you will arrive. These are the summer months after all. We can’t keep the entire month of August open in the hopes that someday you show up un-announced. • Being unresponsive also creates the perception in our minds that should a start date be defined, you may not show up nor tell us why. If communication is that difficult for you, they why shouldn’t I be concerned that we may not get a reason why or a new start date should that happen. • Refinishing hardwood floors is disruptive to a family’s lifestyle (furniture is all over the place). I want someone who is easy to work with because I don’t want any unexplained delays once the first piece of furniture is moved. I want someone who communicates to us what we need to do before you arrive, what you will do while you are here and how long the entire job will take. In short, I want to work with you to make it go smoothly because it is a disruption to our family (never forget that)! You never answered any of my questions concerning site prep (who moves the furniture, should I protect the baseboard or do you do that, etc). You are NOT easy to work with if you don’t respond to your customers, particularly when they are trying to work with you. • Being this unresponsive before the job really makes me wonder whether or not you will stand behind your work after the job is completed. If there is an issue, will you again go into hiding? I guess you have a vigorous and growing business such that customer focus is not a prime concern of yours. But if feeling threatened is your only response, then we are done and I for one am very glad we are. Have a nice day. ------------------ I was extremely patient in waiting almost a month. If you read through the rest of these reviews, this is not a new behavior for him. This has happened before. Take that as a warning and a concern for the reasons I listed above. I honestly feel like I dodged a bullet by not hiring him. I hope you do too.

From start to finish dealing with Ron Wilson and his crew was a great experience! I am so glad I found him on Angie's List. I first contacted Ron on 6/14 asking him for an estimate of the work I wanted to have done...and by 6/30 I had a beautiful new wood floor in my family room. The overall job involved removing a very worn and pet-stained wall-to-wall carpet and underlying carpet pad that previous home owners installed ~25 years ago, and replacing that with red oak hardwood. I contacted Ron on 6/14, along with a couple of other flooring companies, and Ron was very prompt in getting back to me and the most responsive overall. While he was not the least expensive, his price was competitive, and he was by far the most professional craftsman I've worked with in a long time -- he was head and shoulders above the other flooring companies I contacted. The floor is beautiful, the room looks so much better and he did an especially nice job in installing the hardwood around the irregular edges abutting the stone fireplace. I highly recommend him!

We were happy with Ron Wilson and Son Hardwood Floors and we would use them again. Ron's quote was competitive and we went with him because he had great reviews. During the process we found the subfloor under the old carpets was too thin and he recommended adding plywood before he laid the floors. He had mentioned this during the quote so we knew it was a possibility. Ron took care of this and gave us a fair price for the additional material and labor. He also had to level out some of the floors and they came out great. We went with 3 1/4 inch red oak, natural finish with poly and they're beautiful. There are a variety of warm tones which gives it character. I did ask about a really dark piece that I thought stood out and Ron changed it out, no problem. I really appreciated that. We had some difficulties with the balusters, rail and newell post on the steps because the house is 35 years old and nothing is level there. Ron always took the time to address my concerns and he put a lot of time into trying to give us exactly what we wanted. We also appreciated that and we're really happy with the finished product. If you're in the market for hardwood floors I would definitely recommend getting a quote from Ron.

Hardwood floor was installed carelessly, with no regard for safety, and various health hazard issues. The walls were damaged, floor uneven, staircase unfinished. We have been sealing all the rooms, vacuuming dust, and cleaning after the contractor. In the end, the owner of the company, Mr. Ron Wilson took the hardwood surplus, four sealed boxes of wood (we paid for directly the supplier who delivered it to our house), out of our property without our consent. Mr. Wilson insisted that this is the way he does his business. He overestimates the materials and consequently the labor. He never runs short, but keeps the surplus. The business model claims over $1000 extra from each project because the residential clients are unable to count, in our case 18.25 sq feet * 63 boxes leaves over FOUR more boxes than needed. If anyone is looking for a dishonest contractor, he is the one.

They did a fantastic job, in and out in less than 2 days.

My husband & I recently purchased our home and we wanted to have hardwood flooring installed in the family room and we also wanted to spruce up the existing hardwood floor in our dining room. We joined Angie's List in order to find and hire a reputable, professional company to perform the work and we couldn't be more pleased with the results. We found Ron Wilson on Angie's List and he and his team definitely lived up to their ratings. From the initial conversation all the way through to the completion of the job, Ron and his team were professional, responsive and adhered to the schedule we had set. The crew showed up on time and installed their equipment without fuss. Using dust curtains, they were able to keep the mess to a minimum and completed the job flawlessly. These guys are great. Very professional and personable. I would hire them again without a doubt!

Our kitchen and bathroom floors were in very rough shape, and Ron and his team were able to completely transform them. We were amazed at how good the refinished floors look. Great work. Ron's team was punctual, neat and completely cleaned up all of the sanding dust. We would definitely use them again.

Three workers came out and my interaction with them was awesome- Ron Wilson himself was the best. It took them two days to do it- which wasn't bad. The striped it and put one coat of poly on it in one day and came back and did two more coats of poly the next day. They left the area absolutely perfect when they were done.

Ron and his crew were awesome from start to finish. Ron came out to quote the job and gave me an estimate within a day via email. Once I was ready, I emailed him back to schedule and he got us on the schedule. When the day came to get it done his crew was on time and did a great job explaining things I had questions about. This was about as clean-cut as it can be. When the job was done, Ron gave me a final invoice and I paid him and that was that! I will absolutely use them again when I need more work on my floors.

Ron was a perfect gentleman. As my wife said at dinner on the night they finished, "He did everything he said he would. I couldn't be happier." Ron started when he said he would and completed a day early. His crew was polite; they worked unattended and cleaned up nicely at the end of each day. Ron himself was onsite much of the time. The completed floor is beautiful!

Ron was very responsive and easy to get an appointment with. He was able to come to our new home within a specific period of time to provide an accurate estimate. Ron and his crew showed up on time and completed the work within the time frame quoted. They treated our house well and protected existing carpeting on the stairs. The new floors looks great! We wouldn't hesitate to use or recommend Ron Wilson & Sons again.

From the initial contact to the finished product all interactions were very professional. Every time I called Ron he either answered his phone immediately, or returned my call within minutes. Everything went very well. Ron promptly came out and gave us a quote. He called to have the wood delivered ahead of time and did exactly as he had explained the job would go. The floors look great and we are very happy. I would recommend Ron to anyone who needs hardwood floors re-finished or installed new.

We purchased a home with cherry hardwoods on the main floor. These floors were not well maintained, there were seriously worn areas in addition to a large number of deep scratches as if someone had been sliding furniture around with nails sticking out from the legs. I originally wanted to replace the whole floor, it looked that bad. I contacted Ron based on his Angie's list reviews and because he was located in Pelham (I was trying to use local businesses). I had a cost in my mind based on some conversations with friends and co-worker and a little research online. Ron's quote was all I needed. He and his crew started a few days later. They arrived when they said they would arrive, he was courteous and professional. The work was outstanding, the floors look amazing! The job took about one extra day than initially stated, but he let me know right away and it didn't cause any issues. He even came back and touched up a small area after I moved the stove. Highly recommended.

There are so many great things to say I do not know where to begin. The flooring was installed in the Master Bedroom (3rd floor) of my townhouse which is six and half years old. When I moved in I bought the model unit so all the work had been done already including the flooring which was a low to mid quality berber carpet. Also, I was trying to keep costs down as much as possible. But in the back of my mind, I always wanted hardwood. I got four quotes from four different providers asking all of them for the same product - oak flooring installed, sanded, and finished with three coats of oil based polyurethane. Ron Wilson and Sons answered quickly and were responsive to my every question. I cannot say enough about how patient and accommodating they were. Every single email answered so promptly, every detail covered. His team was wonderful. They were so careful around my home. One machine weighing over 300 pounds they had to carry up and down the stairs and would not put it on my tile floor so as not to risk any damage. Everything was cleaned up beautifully when they were done and the end product is absolutely beautiful. The wood was delivered on July 21st to allow it time to acclimate to the environment for the August 6th installation. Ron accommodated my request to have the wood in the house for more than a week before installation - moving the wood delivery date up and the installation back without a moment's hesitation. He called me the Sunday before saying they would be there at 8AM and exactly at 8AM he and his team carried all the wood up to the third floor. August 6th - 9th - each and every morning they were there at 7:30. The first day (installation) took less than 6 hours, the second day (sanding and first coat) was less than 4 hours and the final two days (2nd and 3rd coat) they were about an hour. It was seamless and so easy. I am so thankful to have Ron Wilson and Sons put in my flooring. I am saving for the second floor install. I highly recommend Ron Wilson and his team without any reservation whatsoever.

Excellent! Ron refinished the hardwood in my kitchen, tore up a rug in what would normally be used as a formal dining room (we used it as an office) and installed new hardwood flooring. He did a fantastic job and the floors blend so well you wouldn't know they were installed at different times. I would highly recommend Ron Wilson and Son's to anyone looking to re-finish or install new hardwood flooring.

We got a few quotes, and they were the best. We had the whole house painted afterwards, and the painters ruined some of the new finish. Ron Wilson & Sons came back and cleaned it up for us, with no charge and no problem. They did all the floors in a day and a half. The house was empty, so there was nothing to move around or anything.

The job was performed on schedule and the final cost was on point with the original estimate. The floors looked amazing and the wood that had been replaced blended so well with the existing floor that no one can tell the difference. We actually used him again recently to have him buff the floor. (We had a long term house guest with a dog that scratched up the floors).

It is absolutely fabulous. Ron was exceedingly patient as I changed my mind 3 times on the hardwood I wanted to use and all the questions that I had. Huge move, but so worth it!. Very responsive to every phone call, showed up on time and actually finished the project a day or two sooner than I had expected. Couldn't be more happy!

We are completely satisfied with Ron's work and would highly recommend him and use him again in the future. He returns calls immediately and more importantly shows up when he says he going to show up. We felt the work they did was excellent. We have an old house and were originally looking to simply sand and refinish the upstairs hallway and living room. However, the floors were in pretty bad shape. Therefore we decided to replace the entire floor in the living and repair some damaged spots in the hallway. Our living room is not just an empty square box so there were a few cuts they had to make to work around some built in fixtures which they did expertly. We had also expected the worst with dust during the sanding process based on others we know who have had floors redone. When Ron says they have a dustless system, it is exactly that. We barely found any dust around the house after they were finished.

They did an excellent job. They showed up at the time they said they would (both days) and cleaned up after they were finished. Would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone who needs their floors refinished and or repaired.
