I had three other estimates done before I found Arone Exteriors on Angie's List. I contacted Joe online and he called me back within the hour. I scheduled a time to have him look at our house on a Saturday morning. Joe was punctual, friendly, professional and was prepared with samples and answers to my questions. He provided an estimate on the work within the week. I decided to go with Arone Exteriors because of my great first impression of Joe as a representative of his business. His estimate was within range of the others that I had received but, unlike the other contractors I spoke with, Joe was confident in being able to deliver on his commitment. It took a while for my husband and I to nail down color choices. Joe was very patient with us and even put samples on the house for us to get a better idea. Once we made a decision, we found that one of our color choices was no longer available. Joe did everything he could to find it for us. His crew started work in early November. Every day they were punctional, friendly, worked a full day and cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day. When the cedar siding was torn off the house, the crew found dry rot in certain areas. Joe made me aware of it immediately and had it fixed once he had my approval. The job took 4 weeks in total to complete. Joe's original estimate was two and a half weeks but I was happy that they stayed longer to do the job right. I felt confident that the crew did a thorough job every day that they were working on our house. The crew made sure that my "tic list" was completed before they packed up and left when the job was done. We had an incident afterward on the first rainy day where the gutters weren't working quite right and we had a leak under our porch roof. One call to Joe and he was at our house the next day to fix it! I highly recommend Arone Exteriors for any work you need done on your house. I plan to use them when I'm ready to replace my deck next year.

We'll I've used Joe Arone for smaller jobs in the past and he was always good to us, so when it came time to replace 8 older drafty windows, I didn't hesitate to contact him. He scheduled a visit, came by the house on a friday afternoon on time (actually a little early as he was in the area on another job), and walked us through the process with estimates depending on type of windows we wanted. After figuring out what we wanted, he sent his window foreman out to get measurements. The actual ordering process took longer than I had thought due to the company (Alside) we purchased windows from having a backorder of supply. So we ended up waiting two months instead of one for installation. When the windows came in, he called us and had his guys out there the next week. The installation of our windows was completed in one day and by that evening we were good to go. Joe called us a few days later to see if we were happy and we were. Still are. The windows are much less drafty and they even quieted the street noise outside the house. I'd recommend his company to anyone.

Between the time of making the initial inspection and writing the job estimate, we were able to explore both material and work process options, including their costs. Much of our communication back and forth with Joe Arone and his office was via e-mail which was especially satisfactory; it was typically quick and always to the point. Joe was often careful to explain the pros and cons of the choices we wanted to consider. The final results were typically better than we had even hoped. When it turned out that the particular shingle product grade and color were not in stock locally, Joe quickly found what we wanted through his connections with out-of-area suppliers. Simply put, we think the Arone Exteriors team "bent over backwards" to be sure the job was done right, on schedule, and within budget.

We hired Arone Exteriors for replacement of our roof. We only have great things to say about Joe and his crew. They came when expected and were respectful of our property. The dumpster that they used in our driveway was put on boards in order not to leave marks. They did an incredible job and answered all questions that we had. The entire roof took only two days and we are extremely satisfied with the outcome. They eliminated all debris and had a magnetic tool which they used to remove all the nails. Definitely would recommend them !

The used good materials, fir railings, turned balusters and pressure treated decking. On top of that, they added some architectural accents on the columns holding up the roof. There was a little confusion near the end on getting the right look of the stair rails, but Joe made sure we were 100% satisfied and did not pressure us at all. He wanted us to be happy with the work and made everything look just like we wanted. Great job and good crew. Keep an eye out for Jack, he does nice work. Joe replaced our roof earlier this year, which was an excellent job.

Joe Arone and his crew arrived the morning of October 18th as agreed. They protected property with tarps and started working immediately. Upon completion, the crew made sure no debri was remaining on property and Joe reviewed all work done to make sure we were completely satisfied. The crew was extremely hard working, conscientious, and always pleasant. Joe was able to give good price for quality product and work to be done. On top of GAF warranty, Joe provides an exceptional personal warranty on labor and wokmanship. We would absolutely recommend him for your roofing needs!

They did a very good job for us and they were very professional.

Prompt response from Joe from my initial email. He was out within a few days for onsite estimate. Work was scheduled at the time that I requested and was completed within two days. We did require some repair of rot in the subroof which was repaired within the allowance for such repairs on the estimate (no additional charges were made). Careful attention was paid to assure protection of our landscaping and the area was cleaned up at the end of the first day of work and, again a thorough cleaning job at the end. Very professional from start to finish. Joe and his crew did a great job in a timely manner for a reasonable cost. Highly recommended.

Jo was extremely quick to get in touch with me and to send an estimate/proposal, which was very clear and attractively priced. He was able to schedule the work within a few weeks which was really great as we were on a deadline. He showed up exactly when he said he would, with two workers that looked like they had been picked up that day. They worked two full days from 7 to 7 or so, and completed the work faster than expected. They put our deck back more or less as it was before (a little less well than it was before, but I think that's to be expected as Joe mentioned there was a lot of warping going on when they removed the boards, and they were able to save all our boards and put them back in place). The roof and gutters seem excellent so far. My only disappointment is that the deck boards are not quite as evenly spaced as they were before. I also wish they had been able to make the deck level when they put it back (if was not level to start with and we had discussed fixing that a little bit), but it sounds like that would be a larger carpentry job. I received invoice and 40 year warranty in the mail (though had to wait for the warranty as they initially sent me a sample instead of the real document). For a strictly roofing job this is the outfit I would hire again

Joe gave us a quote on a large roof on a 3 family home in Peabody. He was the middle of 3 prices, but used top products and did a challenging roof in a week. There are several high gables as well as some flat section that had an EPDM rubber roof installed. He was onsite every day, was prompt in providing pricing and answered any questions I had. Nice job overall.

He is probably the best contractor that I have ever seen. They cleaned up the area after their job was done. We were pleased with the job that he had done. He was very personable and very helpful. His price is really good. We were really happy with them.

Overall pleased with work. They were prompt, quick and relatively clean.

Arrived early and on time, removed 8 squares ( two layers of shingles), put on new flashing, weather shield, and 8 squares on new shingles. Removed all debris and cleaned up spotlessly. It was all done professionally, the crew was courtesy and the owner helped on every issue.

Joe was really good and did nice work! He had his crew come over and they worked straight from 7:00am-1:00pm to do the work. They were really good at what they did and even finished before the time that was estimated.

I called a bunch of roofers because my roof was leaking. Joe responded in a day or so and came out a day later. I mentioned that I was considering siding, but wasn't decided. He brought siding and shingle samples along and offered to give me a quote for several different options I was considering 1)roof only, 2)roof +siding fix, 3) roof +all siding. I received a very professional proposal a few days later and was pleased with the pricing and decided to move ahead. It took a couple weeks to get things started (which he told me upfront), but when they did the job went very smoothly. The guys were very punctual and worked through tough winter conditions (if it was over 25 degrees they were working). The roof ended up being really bad off and a bunch of boards had to be replaced, but the extra charge for that was minimal The siding specialist was a real perfectionist and took the time to do things the right way. He and Joe were both very open to questions, I never felt like I was bothering them when I asked questions. They even worked around another contractor I had doing a huge tree job and figured out a way to move my wrought iron railings without me having to get a railing guy out to redo it. That saved me a few bucks and it was just one of many occasions where they went the extra mile. I really felt that they treated my house like they would their own. I HIGHLY recommend that anyone looking for a roof or siding job give Arone Exteriors a call!!

After many phone calls (13 total) and 2 months later he has not returned our phone calls.

Again, we ended up not hiring him only because another vendor got back to us first. Mr. Arone's quote was just about the same as the other company's so, he clearly offers competitive rates (he and the other company were the lowest cost by a long shot). It was just bad luck that he got back to us a day or so after our condo association got a great bid from another vendor and decided to move forward with the work. However, Mr. Arone was the top contender for the job and I felt after meeting him that his character was excellent and that he would have done an excellent job for our condo association.

He did everything he promised, on-time; at the estimated cost. He also managed to fix a gutter problem that had plagued us for several years. He is a very likeable guy and very efficient. He brought a team of five guys; they did the job really fast and cleaned up really neatly. We called him back a few days later to ask him to check out a gutter we had a question about and he arrived with his whole crew and checked it out. I found him on Angies list. Great find.

While Joe came across as a very friendly person, the day before he was to start the job the problems rose to the service. A month before the start date, the contract was clear and our choice of shingle identifed.Days before the start, we are asked again for our choice of color. "Hmm, that's odd" we thought.We are told, got it, we'll start tomorrow or the next day. An hour later, and email stating we indicated a shingle in a category above what was quoted. In the course of following calls, we agreed to write this off as miscommunication, and split the increase (added $1K to the total). Then, we are told that color is no longer made and offered another color.Calls to the local distributor (very helpful) clarify the shingle is indeed still made, but out of stock. 1-2 weeks to get in. Have your installer call to place the order. Call to Joe to give him the info.The next morning, an email reneging our agreement from the previous day. Phone call follows and Joe tells me the total has to increase by $2300 or he is not doing the job. He tried to claim he is making $0 on the job (the fascia alone was marked up $1200 over what it would cost me to buy it at Home Depot). Track the model of shingle by exact name and weight per square. Do not be mislead by similar names or the warrantees. Make sure the installer actually uses the materials you pay for (many of the names are similar, but the quality of the material is not!)

From the very beginning were we pleased with Joe Arone's prompt visit and follow-up quote. We enjoyed visiting the Harvey Showroom in Burlington to select our roofing shingles. The day the work was scheduled all arrived on time and were courteous, thorough, and did a great clean-up. Joe was so easy to work with and was most patient with our questions and answered them to our satisfaction. Thank you Joe!

Joe Arone responded promptly to my request for an estimate and showed up very quickly to meet me in person. He was personable and friendly, explaining the details of the replacement and making it clear that he understood I was certainly concerned about price and schedule as this replacement was a condition for the sale of my house. He offered me a ballpark estimate on the spot that matched the written estimate he sent me via email a day later. His price was right around where I expected to be, and was in the middle of three offers. I selected Arone Exteriors based on Joe's professionalism, responsiveness, and willingness to answer questions. Also, he offered a 15-year labor warranty that was transferable to the new owners. They were also very responsive via email, and took care of all the details such as town permits, etc. It was a bit tough to schedule due to weather, but that's New England. On the day of the replacement, I wasn't able to be at the house, but I showed up towards the end. They were just cleaning up, but had finished the job easily and without any trouble. Joe took the time to walk around the property with me and answer any questions I had. I was very happy with the work and the cleanup. Everything was completed as agreed and the work looks great. They did not require up-front payment or a deposit, and I mailed the check in after the work was complete. I was very happy with Arone Exteriors and would certainly recommend them!

Joe arrived for the estimate in a timely manner, was very professional even when another roofer asked to arrive early for his estimate appointment and the two overlapped. Ann Marie followed up with us immediately after submitting the proposal and was also very professional.

Joe was very professional and helpful when he came out to give the estimate. I had been leaning toward another roofer before Joe came by. I was very impressed by his taking the time to explain the process and answer questions, as well as his enthusiasm. His price was very competitive. They came yesterday and completed the job in 1 day. Roof looks great! The crew was very friendly and hard-working. The cleanup was incredible! The driveway and yard were cleaner after they left than it was before they came. I highly recommend them (and have aready done so).

This was my first large change to my first house. I was kind of nervous about the whole thing and had been avoiding the problem, until finally the leaks were getting to bad to ignore. Joe and Marie gave me a great price, and kept me calm with their professionalism and good humor. The work went fast and the new roof looked great. Despite stripping off two layers of shingles, there was very little evidence of this as the cleanup went well. (I found more stuff on my lawn from the work my neighbor had done on her roof later in the season). The roof has held up well through torrential rain, and weathered the ice dams from the 2010-2011 winter.
