I chose Tamarack from the phone book and had no idea what to expect for price. I had planned to call 3 different tree service companies for quotes, but after meeting Ken Brown I didn't feel the need to call anyone else. He came out the day after I called and was very knowledgeable about all the trees growing in my yard. I was torn about whether or not to cut down one of the big, ornamental trees or just trimming it way back. Ken laid out the pros and cons of each and I was able determine that cutting down was the best option, given the size of the roots and the proximity to the house. Tamarack definitely exceeded my expectation and I would strongly recommend them to anyone looking to have tree work done. I certainly feel as though I got more than my money's worth with them.

I actually called another listing in Angie's List and the representative is now associated with Tamarack Tree Service and that's who did our work. Incidentally, Tamarack is also somehow associated with another company out of Massachusetts. Erik was very prompt in coming out to do an estimate (far better than other companies I called). He also identified (on his own) several trees that we were planning to add to our original request. He came out a second time to meet with us and finalize the estimate as we had identified yet a few more trees we wanted removed. Once we signed the contract, we were pleased to learn that Tamarack would be able to come out very quickly to do our work- the following Friday (within one week). On Tuesday, Erik came by and let us know that they would actually be able to do the work that day. Luckily that was convenient for us since my husband was at home that day (although we would have been disappointed had we not been able to be there). They never ended up coming that day, although we did receive a call late in the day letting us know there had been an unexpected emergency that pushed us off the schedule. They attempted to come on the original day (Friday) but there were thunderstorms and they had to push us to Monday. They did show up on Monday as planned and we were very pleased with the work they did. If you ever get trees removed, it's worth seeing if they can use a crane like Tamarack did! They lifted the trees right up and over the house and put as much as they could right in the chipper. You could hardly tell we had trees removed - the cleanup was excellent. We had some of the larger logs in our yard for a couple of days, but the logging truck came pretty quickly to retrieve those. Everyone of the people who was part of the team, from Erik to the team that removed the trees to the logging truck operator, were very professional and polite. In fact, the logging truck operator accidentally clipped a small branch when he was here and called to ensure it was taken care of for us. The tree removal team also cut down several dead branches on other trees in our front yard that had been bugging us and were very difficult to reach- without a request from us. We were very pleased with the experience.
