Brian’s installation schedule was flexible, showed up on time, removed and took away the old doors and installed the new doors. He and his colleague left the job site immaculate. Would recommend to anyone looking to have new garage doors installed.

Perfect. This is a garage door not a kitchen counter. I wanted it to be quick, cheap, done right. My expectations were met all around.

It went as well as expected since I had Brian here before and his service at that time earned him a call for the new garage door opener. Brian explained the difference between a belt drive unit and a more economical chain drive alternative. I pretty much had it in my mind what I wanted and went with the belt drive with the battery back up (I'm tired of moving the door by hand during power outages) and also with wi-fi capability that lets me know when i forget to close the door! Obviously it was a more expensive alternative but well worth the money in my opinion. I'm bringing Brian back soon to replace the springs and the weather stripping which are also 20+ years old.

First time using Angie's list so didn't know what to expect. Purchased a door tune up package from Brian Smith Door Co. The service was done quickly and well. Got some options and my door hasn't work this well in years!

Great, new weatherstripping, new remote, new opener and I added a side mounted opener on the external side of the garage door. Best part (which I recommend please please to all tradesmen) is Brian's responsiveness. We had some coordination issues, but he followed through and kept in contact.

Brian was excellent -- scheduled a visit promptly to assess my repair job, and delivered a quote to replace my garage door on the spot. I was looking for an economical option, and was pleased that he did not try to over-sell me on the garage door. Worked with me on getting the door ordered, and scheduled the door installation at a time that was convenient for me. The work was superlative, and very affordable: $700 to remove and dispose of the old door and install the new one. It looks and works great! I am very pleased, and would gladly hire Brian again for any garage door issues. Highly recommended!

Purchased a deal on Angie's list. The provider said they serviced our county, but after a few days I did not hear anything from them so I called to follow up. They said they do not service our town. Took a bit of time to get Angie's List to refund our purchase. Call ahead to make sure the provider services your area.

I had purchased new materials to have the door replaced and he replaced my door with all my old materials and took off with all the new materials that I had purchased. I have tried to contact him and have gotten no response back.

That was great. That was really good.

Brian arrived on time on the date we agreed on. He was very informative and answered all my questions. while inspecting the door parts as part of the service, he found a problem with one of the cables. The frayed cable was just about ready to break so it was fortunate that he was there and found this. When I told him to go ahead and replace the cable, he did so for an extremely reasonable charge ($10!), so overall it was a great find for me on Angie's List. I would definitely use him again and have told others in the complex where I live about the service he provided.

Brian arrived on time and performed the work in an excellent manner and at a reasonable cost. I would have no hesitation to call him again or to recommend him to anyone in need of work on garage doors.

Called Brian and explained the issue. He happened to my in my home town and stopped by shortly after the call. Looked over the doors, serviced them. All on the same day, no complaints here.

First, meeting with Brian to get a feel for him, to understand how to select doors and accessories through him and determine if we though he'd be our supplier and installer. This went well but there was always a problem with up to date pricing. We'd select this door or ask about that accessory and his price lists were not up to date. Not the best beginning. But what helped us feel good was his owning up to the problem and helping us understand the magnitude of the changes, his prior Angie's list reviews (which is how we found him) and his overall positive attitude. Second, we returned to Brian by email several times to get new quotes. There was little by way of product that Brian could actually show us. Instead he referred us to his distributor to see and touch the real doors. We went there twice to figure this out. Should Brian have done more I don't know. What he did do was lead us to the distributor and then the garage door manufacturer CHI. On their website they have a visualization tool and we did use it repeatedly. We placed several new doors in place against a picture of our house. Part of the credit for the sale has to go to CHI and that visualization tool. Not perfect but so very usable; my wife and used it several time to help scale back our original plans to something that does now look very nice now that they are installed. Third, and this is where Brian has to be complemented - he stuck to the quote and delivered what was promissed. He did an excellent job installing our doors and openers (and then after the sale, by phone, gave me very good support - read on). He showed up less than two weeks after we placed the order and installed the two garage doors and openers. Some of our dry wall lining the garage door opening had to be replace and he did that nicely. He went out then and there, purchased the dry wall and with great difficulty installed it cleanly. I wasn't there but my wife relayed the difficulties he ran into. He stuck to his fixed price quote and we are happy with the result. Fourth, a day to two after the installation I wanted to my vehicle's Gentex mirror (Homelink-enabled) to the two openers. I already knew there was an incompatibility between the openers and my mirror and LiftMaster solves this with an add-on device called a repeater. Brian provided a repeater to us. Then, when I read the repeater instructions I was very puzzled by it's almost singular lack of specificity. Meaning I couldn't follow the instructions and I am a champ at following instructions. On Saturday I called his phone number and he answered. As I explained the dissatisfaction with the instructions he offered to call LiftMaster using his connections to them and help out. He'd get more instructions and answers to my questions. Excellent. But then we continued to talk about it. With his help I figured out what the instructions were saying. He admitted that he didn't have much experience but the offer to mediate with the company. He stayed with me on the phone and discussed it in detail. All I need from him is to know how to install the garage door and openers and try and help me as I explore options. To these ends Brian scores high with me and that's why I'd use him again.

Brian was very prompt and professional. He communicated when the ordered door would be in and schedule the work accordingly. He let me know when there would be extra expenses with regards to the trim around the doors. These were not part of the original quote. The whole job looked great when finished. I would call Brian again or recommend him to anyone.
