Response from JUST JOE PAINTING & WALLPAPERING
First, let me say this, I knew I should not have agreed to try to placate this woman. Three years ago, I bid the painting and wallpapering job for her. I gave her the measurement for the wallpaper and how many gallons of Sherman Williams paint she would need. She called me several times asking if she could get a discount if I ordered the wallpaper through Sherman Williams when I purchased the paint..I told her no, they do not give a discount on wallpaper. I scheduled the job to be done and hired an extra person to help..The morning I was to leave for the job, she called…said she had an emergency “could we schedule another date…I did..then she cancelled the next one the night before…and then again! Any contractor will tell you, this costs money!!! You don’t take other jobs when you have scheduled a job! Now, three years later…she calls…want’s the job done now…it’s summer..I told her could do it in the fall or winter, but not during the summer…she kept calling and emailing, leaving derogatory messages…I finally called her to tell her again, I could do the job in January, however, I have other jobs and could only come on Thurs and Fridays… NOW HERE’S THE KICKER….SHE HAD NOT EVEN PURCHASED THE WALL PAPER , IT’S BEEN THREE YEARS!!!!!! I had to go and redo all the measurements and calculate the gallons of paint required..(she had changed what she wanted) So, I scheduled the date…telling her “I could only work on Thurs/Frid…so, her saying I started on Jan 17 –Thru Feb 28…is totally wrong! On several occasions I drove to the job, set up and she informed me that she had to take her cat to the vet, so I had to leave..and then again, she had to go to a store…I can’t afford to go and set up and then leave…Not driving 60 miles round trip… As a matter of fact, I left the job on Feb 14…She said she didn’t have any money to pay me! As far as the pictures, I have no idea what this woman has done! No way would I paint like that…and I’m quite suspicious of the one with the wall paper on and then the trim was painted..no one would put up wall paper and then paint the trim..the one with the wall paper hanging loose, yes, it has to hang loose until I’m able to complete the wall (as you can see, it folds in…you have to leave it loose until you can line up all corners! Yes, the paint did bubble, she called me late one night, saying the paint had bubbled on the floor..I did go and look at it…it seems that her “boyfriend had spilled something and tried to wipe it up! I had told them the paint needed to cure… I did tell her that she should buy Sherwin Williams paint, and that I could not guarantee Valspar paint…and SHE PUT GLITTER IN THE PAINT” I told her this could compromise the paint. Adding glitter to the paint could create a chemical reaction (Which I would not guarantee)! As far as prepping…I did in fact sand everything… The pictures look as if she and her boyfriend took great effort in destroying the paint..most of the pictures look like they were taken in another “old home she owns” As far as being intoxicated and stealing things..well, she can talk to my lawyer about that! I was told my other contractor’s “That this woman is nuts…guess what, they are correct! CONTRACTOR’S BEWARE!!! SHE HAS DONE THIS BEFORE! Please, if you read this..read my other reports…
