+ -1 moreLately, I called him for a small, non-emergency job and also to look at a heater. He never returned calls. He blew off two appointments. I would prefer to keep using him but I have to go elsewhere because it has been a year now and no show.
Description of Work: I have used this firm in the past to replace a water tank. Maurice did a wonderful job.

+ -1 moreThey did some good work for me. The price was reasonable but then when I called them back for something minor, they never did the work that they were supposed to so I stopped using them. It was too bad because when I gave them the big job they wanted it, and then for the little job they kind of blew me off. So the work that I'm doing this summer I wouldn't call them anymore and I would use another one. I liked them when I used them last summer, they did probably $2300 worth of work for me and they did it quickly and properly. The price was a little on the higher side but I thought he was a great guy at the time. He didn't do the job that I asked him to do this past winter because maybe it was too much of a hassle and not worth his time so I wouldn't use him again.
Description of Work: I used them for repairing a gas fireplace.

Description of Work: Squam Lakes is my go-to plumbing service for several reasons: they are honest and reliable, i.e., they come when they say they will; they are good for their estimates; their work is high quality; and, for non-emergency calls they will let me know when they'll be in my (relatively remote) area, and pick my job up with the day's lot w/o a big travel charge.

Description of Work: He came to install a vent free gas fireplace. Since he wasn't familiar with the appliance I think he was in over his head to begin with. The company estimated 1 to 2 hrs for installation. He took 4 1/2. His plan of attack wasn't always the best way so he was constantly changing thoughts on how to install. In his defense I do have to say the company's instructions were very bad. We finally got it mostly installed but some of the pieces still have to go in. In the end I think he was frustrated and so was I. I don't think that he is a bad plumber but I do think this job proved very hard for him. I would have him back for other jobs but next time I would ask for an estimate which I neglected to do this time. I just thought that $427.00 was a bit much for such an installation.

+ -1 moreNewfound Plumbing has done work for us before. They knew us and realized it was an emergency and came quickly to assess the damages, order parts, and then do the work. We were able to inspect the work area before they finished. I think they did a great job. I feel fortunate to have someone I can trust to call for plumbing and heating problems.
Description of Work: Replaced a very old drain pipe running from the kitchen under the garage into the ground which had frozen and then burst. Replaced kitchen drain pipes from the sink, washing machine and dishwasher. Hooked them to the main septic system. Had to work in a very small crawl space in winter.

I have worked with him before on a simple plumbing job. He responded immediately. He brought someone with him to help him. He promised to come back if there was anything wrong.
