Burke’s Tree Service has been a New Hampshire institution since 1983. Our family owned and operated business originally started as a lawn service company, a part time job for Richard Burke, our original owner. Richard soon realized that trimming trees was a service that was poised to grow while there were many other companies cutting lawns. He switched the focus of the business over to tree services, and over the years, we’ve grown by leaps and bounds.
"I contacted them in April and agreed on an estimate at beginning of May. At the beginning of July I contacted them to ask when the work would be done and was assured it would be done by the 9th of July. On the 9th nothing had been started and I cancelled the contract. I will have to find someone else or do it myself. Frustrating."

Our family owned and operated business originally started as a lawn service company, a part time job for Richard Burke, our original owner. He switched the focus of the business over to tree services, and over the years, we’ve grown by leaps and bounds.

We design very effective low voltage lighting systems, patios and walkways built with pavers and natural stones, decorative ponds as well as your more typical landscaping needs such as lawns, plants and irrigation systems. Our landscaping plans are as elaborate or basic as you wish. Our staff include MCLP (Massachusetts Certified Landscape Professional) and certified installer of pavers and segmental retaining walls and we are a certified designer and installer of low voltage landscape lights. Tony has owned and run Artistic Landscapes since its inception, in 2004, and he was elated to be recognized as the "Match of the Game" by the New England Patriots Vince Wilfork for his mentoring efforts through the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Program of Massachusetts.
"Despite the weather, it was cold, rainy and snow on the ground, the three people that worked here today kept working. I questioned whether today would be a good day to get all the leaves but I was assured if not today, they would be back for the rest. I would say 95% of the leaves were picked up and the remaining leaves are under snow. I don't know how they did it. All were very pleasant and worked hard. I don't usually leave reviews, but just had to today. We've had this company here for yard cleanup three years in a row now ... Will see you again next year. ... Thank you very much!"

Based out of the greater Salem, NH area we travel up to roughly 50 miles in any direction from Salem, NH. We are a family-owned and operated business that has been serving the needs of customers in Salem and the surrounding areas since 1988. Not only do we provide routine maintenance for properties, we also provide innovative landscape design services. The owners Richard and Robert LaBrie are brothers that grew up in the southern New Hampshire area. "We could not be happier with Bob and his company. Today we were looking for someone to remove a stump, after several people came by and said the job was too big, Bob was recommended. He was here within 30 minutes and said he could do the job. He would be back Monday or Tuesday (7/25-7/26). 45 minutes later he called back and said he had an opening today and could do it now if we wanted. Bob was back within the hour and the stump is gone and the hole filled in. Bob and his crew are polite, friendly and great at what they do. We will be using them again and would highly recommend him to anyone."

Topsoil costs from $12 to $55 per cubic yard, depending on the type you choose. For example, screened black dirt will cost about $15 per cubic yard. Loam (soil composed of sand, silt, and clay) costs about $17 per cubic yard. Standard screened topsoil costs about $20 per cubic yard. The type of topsoil you need depends on your landscaping plans.
Topsoil should go down first. If the topsoil is next to your house, make sure the grade slopes away from the house to keep water from pooling against your foundation and possibly leaking into your basement or crawl space. Don’t cover your decorative landscape mulch with topsoil as that defeats the purpose of laying down the mulch.
