Description of Work: John and his crew installed a chimney liner in July for connecting a natural gas fired boiler. The boiler was installed two or three years ago and was vented outside. That venting created a problem with a large window on the first floor, causing us not to be able to open it. During the initial review the liner product selected seemed to be the correct one. The installation went ahead and was completed to our satisfaction. The boiler was then scheduled for connection to the new vent. The boiler vendor discovered that the installed liner could not be connect to the boiler due to its ratings. We contacted John to discuss the problem, informing him the we had acquired the appropriate liner. We discussed the approach to be taken, making sure that both Admiralty and we were in agreement financially. The work was performed this week: original liner out, approved liner in. The professionalism, communication, and solutions approach from Admiralty Chimney has created a satisfied customer and one that would recommend them as a company and professional staff.

The problem is that he found at the top of the chimney 2 layers of loose/cracked bricks which he advised us about but didn't want to repair until next year. What kind of customer service is this? He gets and F in my book! Now I have to find someone else to do want he didn't want to do, who would hire this guy again?

+ 1 moreWe had originally contacted another highly recommended chimney repair vendor that was poor at returning calls and even missed an appointment at our home with no explanation. We had already met with a roofer and were really under pressure to get the chimney work done. When I called Admiralty and explained what had happened, they scheduled a meeting with us the next day. The chimney was in serious disrepair and may have been the original chimney on this 100 year old house. John examined the chimney with a camera, made his recommendations, answered our questions, and coordinated with us and the roofing company. The chimney had hardly any mortar in it and was standing only by the weight of the bricks. The work was done as scheduled, and work area was cleaned up. Couldn't tell someone was here....with the exception of the beautiful chimney work. Thank you John and crew for your great customer service and excellent craftsmanship.

+ 1 moreAdmiralty Chimney was on time for a 9AM appointment. While one person was inspecting the chimney from the roof, the other was helping from within the house. The inside person also inspected the wood stove, which has an attached flexible metal pipe which goes all the way up the flue. The work was done quickly and cleanly to my satisfaction. I first used Admiralty August 2013 for a flue cleaning and inspection. At that time they found a hole in the chimney near where the furnace connects to it, and they also recommended that the chimney be capped. They showed me the hole. I contracted with them to do the repair work, which consisted of inserting a metal pipe the full length of the flue. I also had them cap the chimney. They finished the work in one day, when they had told me it might take two days. Everthing was cleaned up before they left. They are very pleasant to deal with. Price of the repair and chimney cap was almost $3000.00.
Description of Work: Inspect and clean three flues in a single chimney. Check wood stove which is in a fireplace.

+ 0 moreThey had good reviews on Angie's List and they gave us a good quote and they were the best that we saw of all the 3 estimates we had. They did an excellent job. For some reason our chimney had bricks that are hard to find and they went out of their way to find those bricks out of state. They couldn't find any in this area, and even though they tried to find the closest that they could, it didn't even match or looked right. So they went out of their way. The cost was $2500.
Description of Work: I used Admiralty Chimney 2 weeks ago to have chimney repair. So we had bricks that needed to be replaced and a cap put on top of the chimney.

They did a very thorough job of cleaning out the flues from both fireplaces in our home and made no mess whatsoever leaving everything as clean as when they arrived. They inspected the chimney masonry and also quoted on a stainless steel cap as requested. Their suggestions and pricing were very competitive and we will be using them for this service this Spring. I highly recommend them for chimney cleaning and inspection.

+ 0 moreIt went quite well, the new chimney looks great. The owner's employee did most of the work, but the owner did some of the work and certainly kept things well supervised. He sealed the chimney and recommended an inspection every year. It's been a year and the chimney looks fine, but I should have it reinspected. I don't want it to get in the bad shape it had gotten into.
Description of Work: My red brick chimney and its crown were severely cracked and needed a complete rebuild (sorry if I don't remember the exact price). The owner of Admiralty came over and inspected the chimney, described what needed to be done, and scheduled a time to come out and rebuild the chimney.

+ 1 moreWork was completed in the time specified. One day when it was starting rain, they covered the area they were working on so it wouldn't be ruined and came back to finish job. My only complaint or concern was the amount of dust from the masonry work. It was hard to clean off the driveway, and I guess I wasn't expecting a lot of dust, but they're grinding out concrete between bricks, it's expected. Nice guys, made sure all questions were answered. Professional, made sure everything was to our liking.

Description of Work: The two gentlemen came on-time. While getting a chimney sweep, they performed an inspection to provide an estimate for some exterior repairs. Though they seemed quite knowledgeable, the price for the repairs was a bit high such that I've solicited others.The lead also worked with the damper open/close mechanism to get it to work smoothly.
