Description of Work: They arrived on time and cleaned the chimney then proceeded to tell us we need $6000.00 of repairs, our chimney is less than 10 yrs old and in great condition. Luckily I read that they did that with many other people so I wasn't surprised.

+ -1 moreI am afraid I do not remember all the details, only that we spoke with several chimney services, and were most impressed by Son's Chimney Service. We felt the price, though not the least expensive, was comparable and the service was excellent.13 years later we are happy to report that everything has been fine - no problems whatsoever.
Description of Work: He installed a chimney liner into our existing 100 year old brick chimney in which there was deteriorating mortar. He fixed the cap of the chimney by taking off loos bricks and finishing it off to accommodate the new stack. He also cemented in the exterior of the existing brick chimney in the basement to stabilize it and keep the mortar from any more deterioration.

+ -1 moreIt went great - they were onetime, installed the stove, cleaned up, and gave us a walkthrough. They pulled the permit with the city as well. Quality of the work was great, city inspection only took a few minutes because work was done right.
Description of Work: We purchased a Morso wood stove from Son's and they performed the full installation. They installed the chimney, weatherproofed it.

Description of Work: Son's claimed our flue was cracked, the chimney was unsafe, and offered to feline for $6500. We got a second opinion from a highly rated chimney company, who said the chimney was in excellent shape, and the "cracks" were water marks. You can draw your own conclusions, but we won't be calling Son's again.

+ 0 moreWhile they were doing that there were several missteps. The worst part was that they damaged the roof. It started to leak after they left. We had to have our roofer come back and they did not pay for the repairs. The owner also led me to believe that he would pay for the repairs to the roof. The first crew they sent I sent away and I wouldn’t let them come back.
Description of Work: They replaced our chimney.

He was honest about the two chimneys that were clean and in good condition, and provided photographic evidence of the deterioration in the third. He was great about answering my questions and cleaned up the debris that fell out during the inspection.
