Perfect! I'm new with the renovation and they knew all the details. They gave me a very large sample. Their pricing was very good as well as the installation. I also changed some of the parameters at the last minute but they were fine with it,

I spent about $4200 in total. I went to 7 different marble and granite companies but Merrimack had better stones.

Description of Work: Installed granite counter top, including undermount sink and large island. Sections fit perfectly, and polished finish of granite was excellent. Was a little surprised with amount of shimming needed to get L-section seam to meet flat. This left a small gap between granite and top of cabinets in one area, which is visible only when viewing from counter level. Apparently the cabinet tops do not lie in a plane anymore. Overall quite happy with the result.

Description of Work: Cody's service and level of communication were top notch, we researched and visited many granite fabrication options before visiting Merrimack Stone and I knew instantly that this was the best choice for us. Despite my smaller kitchen needs size-wise, the entire staff was incredibly courteous and accommodating and we highly recommend them for ANY and ALL stone or granite needs whatsoever. What a great experience all around and their prices were by far the best compared to the same stone anywhere else.

We were delighted with the work done. We received the new bathroom countertop which was fashioned from our previous laundry counter top. It turned out excellent. Not only were the openings for sink and faucet perfect, when it came time for us to install the undermount sink, we were more than delighted that Merrimack Stone took it upon themselves to drill the holes for the screws and epoxy them in so that we had nothing to do but screw the undermount sink in place. We had no idea that they would take that upon themselves (it never occurred to us) and make the installation job so easy. They had to remove the old backsplash and sidesplash which they did with absolutely no damage to our old counter and recut those pieces to the new size that we needed. It was flawless. When I initially went to pick out the new larger granite for our laundry room counter, I had picked out two possible choices. When we went to pick up our laundry counter, we were told that they cut the counter out of my second choice in error. Cody asked me to look at the second choice and reassured me that after seeing it, if I had any second thoughts and was not thoroughly happy with that granite, they would be more than happy to recut the counter from my top choice. I did decide to go with my favorite. I felt so badly to have them redo the job, but Cody couldn't have been nicer or more reassuring that he didn't mind, it wasn't a problem and he wanted me to be 100% happy with my selection. The job was redone and I received the counter in a week. It was perfect. I absolutely love love love the two granite tops. This was a very small job for Merrimack Stone, certainly not a big kitchen project but Cody and his staff made me feel like my job was just as valuable and important to them as it was to me. I love my granite countertop in my bath and now in my laundry room. They had a huge selection of granite to choose from. I would absolutely use them again and recommend them.
Description of Work: Cut a long laundry room countertop with backsplash and sidesplash as well as cut out a sink and faucet opening from the previous 36 inch laundry countertop that I had which was much shorter, to be used in another bathroom.

Place was a little hard to find, but the process went well. We picked out a piece of granite from their outside and quot;secondsand quot; yard where stone slab pieces cut off from other jobs are stored. We gave them a dimensioned sketch of the piece we needed. They discussed the options with us (rounded corners etc) and priced the order right then. It took a couple week to get the stone cut, and it turned out that the piece we had chosen did not have enough square footage to cut out what we needed, so we had to go back. That's why I didn't score straight A's. But in the end, we got a great looking piece of cut granite at a good price. We were very pleased with the way things turned out.

We had done a lot of research . We received estimates from 4 other installers, some closer to home, but we liked Merrimack best. Our many phone calls were returned promptly and courteously. We went to their factory/showroom in NH twice. Once to browse and get info and ideas and later again to make our final choices. The installers were friendly and professional. They returned promptly when we called to ask them to darken the grout color.

Arrived on time after plumber. Worked carefully to remove counter and verify measurements. Very neatly done - no mess. Discussed every aspect of job with us - no surprises. We made all decisions based on information from well-informed workers. Improved turnaround time by a full day at our request. Job finished 8 days. Installation took 7 hours - no stop - just all very sincere work. Great workers.

Installed undermount porcelain sink; added 1/4 inch radius on all pieces. Added 2 inch back splash throughout kitchen with matching bull nose edge.

The price was good and competitive. They have done work previously for our kitchen. In the end they gave our money back as it was a horrible experience; infact they were supposed to be a friend of ours. What happened was; we order it and it took about a week for them to come out, which was reasonable. When they came out they probably did templates, but when they were going to install it, we noticed the sink was in the middle of the countertop, when it was supposed to be off it. So, they didn't follow the template, so they recut it and there was the problem. When they cut it was way too large for the faucet, infact they had the sink and the faucet while cutting the granite. The responsiveness in getting the template was good, but when it came to the problems they were bad. When my wife called them they didn't response and when my wife went there the owner's son, told her they wouldn't do a small job and asked her to get off their property. I will never use them again in the future.

Response from MERRIMACK STONE INDUSTRIES
I am the owner's son that this customer refers to (btw, I started this business 16 years ago). Without getting into the technical details of what what went wrong with this job (only partly our fault), I will say that I will always ask people to leave when they start screaming at anyone in our company and using foul language, which is what happened in this case. I think customers should try to have a minimum level of decorum when interacting with any company. Spending a few hundred dollars (or any amount of money for that matter) does not buy anyone the right to be aggressive, rude, and use abusive language. Incidentally, it is important to note that we refunded this customer their money in full even though the errors were not entirely our fault. It is true that certain companies do not deserve to be in business and have poor business ethics. It is also true, however, that certain customers are not worth interacting with. As a business owner, I wish there was a website similar to Angie's list that rates consumers...

They appeared to be an integrated company handling distribution, fabrication and installation. You can go to their warehouse and pick the slab you want and they will come down to your house to measure for the template and then come again a couple of weeks later and do the installation. I liked that and thought that it was a good approach. They schedule a number of visits both for the template and installation. They gave me a rough price and I thought that they were very competitive. They might have been the cheapest for the quality of stone that they had. They were very responsive and very professional.

After Ikea gave us a 4-week, too-high quote for a laminate counter top, we went looking for someone who could provide a counter top promptly, more affordably, and with no fuss. Merrimack Stone filled the bill. They quoted a price over the phone that was noticeably cheaper. My husband stopped in the next day and picked out the stone. That weekend they delivered the pieces. We couldn't be more pleased. Business completed in less than a week, and for $300 less than IKEA we got beautiful granite.

Installation went very well. Quick, very clean, and on time. The staff were very professional and polite, both at the main office and in our home.
Description of Work: Replaced kitchen counter top and kitchen island which granite. The old 5"x5" white tiles on the kitchen counter had to be removed. Jim and Marcus did so quickly, with no mistakes or damage. The island had 8"x8" granite tiles, completely different to what the old white tiles on the counter tops. The old tiles/granite were removed, as were the sink and faucet. We didn't know to have a plumber come out install the sink drains and faucet, but we were able to do so quickly. As we added one additional part to the installation, we used that time to have the plumber come out, the Jim and Marcus finished up in less then one hour the day after.

The team at MSI was great. We went into their warehouse to select the countertops and sink that we wanted and within a week the team was there to measure. It took less than 2 weeks after that for the countertops to be cut and installed. The installation took about 3 hours and the team was even early. On top of that they were extremely cautious and made sure that they didn't so much as leave footprints in my house. I would gladly do business with them again.

Very well. The company has an excellent display of different types of granite and does a fine job of explaining the price differences. Their quoted price is on a per square foot basis plus number of linear feet of edge and special cut-outs, and they do a pretty good job of estimating the size. They were very accommodating of our renovation schedule and came out quickly to do the template once we were ready. They were also back quickly with the finished product, just a week and a day after the template was taken. Unfortunately, for both the templating and the install they were several hours late from the time they told us they'd be there. They were also not very forthcoming when we contacted them by phone asking where they were and when would they actually be there. As we were not living in the house at the time, this was rather inconvenient. That said, the work they did was superb and we are very happy with the finished product, and would recommend them again.
