MERRIMACK ROOFING

Notice damage on my garage roof about 2 years ago. A 8"x10" portion of the roofing material was totally missing, and you could see the protective white underlay from the ground level. Yes, this is a small fix / patch job but the problem is, NOBODY wants to do it, because the couldn't be bothered making $200+ dollars. I had been trying to get someone to come and look at this for the last 2 years. Called about 4 different local roofers. Then Angie's list to the rescue. Called Darrin on Saturday,May 9, 2015 and Darrin called me back the following Wednesday, May 13, 2015. The first words out of his mouth was "I am soory that it took me a while to get back to you". Wow, I was already impressed. It gets better, he asked me about the job, I described it, and he gave me a very reasonable price. I agreed to have him fix the roof. He asked me to text him a few pictures so that he could get a better sense of the job and topography of the roof. I thought, that was a great idea. I sent him the pictures and he came THE VERY NEXT DAY and made the repair. It looks awesome and I now have peace of mind, especially after the last winter we just had. All I can say is that I think Darrin is a CLASS ACT. Thank you very much Darrin. I would highly recommend this company to anyone, and would call on his services again.

Darren and his guys were great from the beginning. I called Darren and set up a meeting for a price quote. He went over numerous options for material, a timeline and an excellent quote. Once we decided to go with Merrimack Roofing they got their materials ordered and set up an install date quickly. The roofing crew was exceptional. They were on time and professional. The roof came out looking fantastic. They cleaned up after the install and then came back the next day to be sure all the clean up was thorough and the yard was safe for my kids. And after a tough New England winter there were zero problems. They crew went above and beyond...the supervisor for the installation crew took a few minutes to help out my kids. I was away at work during the install and a part of my kid's swing set broke. The supervisor took a few minutes and made the fix to the swing set and the kids were thrilled. These guys were great from start to finish and I would recommend them to anyone.

They were on time, on budget, pleasant, and did a beautiful job.

After Hurricane Sandy dropped a giant oak tree on our house, we were left with a huge gaping hole in the gable end of the house. Darren and his team responded to my first phone call, arrived right away with an estimate and scoped out the project. We ordered the shingles, and there were absolutely no unwelcome surprises. They arrived to do the repairs on time, and were very thorough. The roof looks excellent and is good for another 30 years!

Darren and his team were very professional and showed up when he said they would. Overall, it went well but took a lot longer than anticipated because they ended up having to cut back the soffits and facia because they were too long and were pulling down on the roof. (Not roofers fault just what it was). He gave us a detailed quote, and he was lower priced on the roof than other quotes, but higher priced on the cutting than other quotes. He had many names and numbers of references and I picked five random ones to call, and they all had good things to say. His team came to strip the first couple of feet of roof so that cutting could begin. One thing I didn't like was that at that point they didn't tarp anything below the roof, so I got lots of little pieces of roof material in my bark mulch and landscape rocks. I did ask him to tarp next time and he said it was standard to tarp all around when removing the shingles, which he did. (I think they didn't think about it initially b/c so little of the shingles were being taken down). Cutting went well and he brought in a carpenter to make sure that all went well and was done correctly. Then roof shingles were taken off on one side of house and a tarp was put up. However, it was a working tarp with many little holes. Of course, we had a huge downpour that night and water go into my attic and wet our newly sprayed in insulation! So, we called Darren and told him. He apologized profusely and said he would take care of anything that needed to be fixed, whether it was to put in new installation or paint ceilings (as my bedroom and a tiny part of living room now had staining). But what he didn't do was come and retarp the roof (this was on Saturday night that it rained). So Sunday mid afternoon, we had another downpour and of course now there was more staining and more water on the insulation. At that point, he sent someone over with brand new tarps and retarped that side of the roof. Within the next two days, they finished the roof and cleaned everything up with brooms and magnetic strips to pick up all the nails. Again, Darren apologized and said he would take full responsibility for anything that needed to be done. We had run some fans in the attic for a couple of days, and my husband felt the insulation had dried. We had a small stain in the living room ceiling, but our living room ceiling needed some work prior to this incident so we let that go. So we decided re-painting our bedroom ceiling would suffice and Darren gave us a good amount of credit on the bill to have this done. Overall, I was happy with their work. The only bad part was that he should have retarped the house as soon as the first rain storm had passed, and the damage to my ceilings would have been minimal (and we probably wouldn't have had the inconvenience of having to run fans for several days). They were professional, did things correctly, got back to me promptly ( I put a B on responsiveness because they did not respond quickly enough to retarp roof, although he responded quickly via phone regarding the rain coming into roof, just didn't come over to fix it) whenever I had questions or concerns, and cleaned up after they were done. I would hire him again because he took responsibility for what happened, (and I never had to argue with him to cover the expenses for anything) and because he did a good job on the roof.
