Bill was very obviously the most informed person on this technology out of the numerous i had do estimates. His cost was in the middle but i know by going with him there would very little risk of it not working perfectly. He spent the most time measuring and checking out my current system. While at my place doing the estimate he showed me fixes to my current system that both a home inspector and an HVAC guy missed. IF you want geothermal and have the money , go with him
Description of Work: I am looking into geothermal, and have not decided who to go with. He estimated how much the installation would cost.

Excellent. Bill Wenzel is a true professional and expert in geothermal systems.
Description of Work: Design and installation of a geothermal HVAC system with a backup propane furnace for a 4200 sq ft home. The system has three zones. We also chose to add an energy recovery ventilation system.

I had difficulty finding someone to come in and install a geothermal heating and air conditioning central ductwork system using heat from ground water to heat and cool my house. I spent a great deal of time not finding the right company until I came across a company called Bill Wenzel Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. He gave me a quote based on phone calls, emails, drawings of all 3 levels of the house, and is installing just what I wanted and doing an excellent job. He appears to be very conscientious about details, I learned he has the most experience in NH at 15 years in geothermal. Many of the companies I contacted had little or no experience at geothermal but were going to give me a quotation and I had to say "no thanks". I was surprised at how many went to a training school for geothermal but have yet to do their first nstallation. That made me very uncomfortable as I did not want them to learn at my expense. Geothermal was the only system I wanted to install because of the risk of higher fuel oil and propane fuel prices, and the geothermal system actually gets a 30% federal tax credit (IRS towards your tax liability and can be carried to future years if necessary) with no cap on the dollar value. This system actually was quoted to me for less than the home builder quoted me for a regular LP fired heating system (without the air conditioning benefit of the geothermal) The work has been done with care to details. I have confidence in the installation, though it will not be until we get thru a winter season that we can give an updated report on it.
Description of Work: Install a 5 ton geothermal water-to-air system including all ductwork in a 3500 sf new log home. The geothermal will serve as a heating source and a cooling source using water from a hi-flow drilled well. The price did not include the well drilling nor the well pump, pressure tank, well pipes, anything related to the water source. Also install a backup 112kbtu LP Bryant 95% efficiency furnace and integrate it with the geothermal pump so that when the geo system couldn't keep up on the coldest days of the winter, the LP furnace would turn on. Also install an EVR (Energy Ventilation Recovery system) to bring in and exhaust stale air as needed. EVR has adjustable timer control and can be activated by either of 2 bathrooms. Bonus was a 30% federal tax credit on all costs with the exception of the LP backup furnace, and it needs to be installed-cost competitive with conventional heating. I saved money by doing my own well driller contracting, well pump calculations and instllation, and hot water tankless LP water heater and LP pipe installation. He was generous in giving time to me in emails on advising me what my needs for the water source system should include.
