First, let it be said that if speed of completion is a major consideration, then Terry Graham and Docks Unlimited may not be the best choice for you. Our project took much longer than anticipated and virtually every deadline was missed, some by a considerable margin. While Terry has some of the best equipment on Lake Winnipesaukee in terms of excavating, pile driving, and barge capabilities, he has a very small crew and is challenged to balance all the jobs he has contracted, making it difficult for him to keep everything on time. However, if quality of construction and a far superior finished product delivered at a competitive price is your goal, then Terry may be your guy. We were quite content to give him the time he needed as long as the job was done right, and it was. Our old permanent dock was wiped out in the spring of 2014 when the ice went out. We contacted several dock construction companies, including two of the larger ones. Terry Graham and Docks Unlimited was the only one who actually sat down with us, showed samples of his work, discussed various options, and had a reasonable plan for negotiating a permit approval that included some needed minor configuration changes to protect from further ice damage, while quoting a competitive price. With the exception of the aforementioned scheduling issues, he was true to his word and delivered everything that he promised. He took charge of the permitting process, he removed the old dock, and built the new one to the agreed specifications. His workmanship was excellent. The post-job cleanup was complete. The dock that he built is a thing of beauty and we are absolutely delighted with it. We feel we got excellent value for our investment. We feel very comfortable recommending Terry Graham and Docks Unlimited.
Description of Work: Our U-shaped dock was destroyed when the ice went out in the spring. Docks Unlimited removed what was left of the old dock and replaced it with an all new dock in a similar configuration as the old one. They also helped us with the daunting permitting process.

Terry worked with me to design a replacement for our island dock. We wanted to add a boardwalk that led from the dock up to the level of the house so it was easier to access using a wheel chair. Terry fabricated the dock in the winter and installed it in the spring. The dock is very solid and looks great. It remains to be seen as to how easy it is to take out in the fall and put back in in the spring.
Description of Work: Designed, built and installed pipe dock with cedar decking and on-shore boardwalk.

I have worked with 3 dock companies in the lakes region. Docks Unlimited was by far the best and most responsive. Our most recent project, in 2012, was for docking capacity for 5 watercraft / boats. I bid the project with 3 companies, and Terry Graham was the middle cost bidder. One other company was willing to go ahead with construction, ignoring town and NHDES permits. I ignored the low bidder for this reason. The high bidder put extra burden on me, getting permits, etc, and wouldn't schedule the job until permits were done, but wanted me to leave a 50% deposit for the job. Docks unlimited, and Terry Graham, the owner, worked with me on permit submission, and upon approval, began work within 2 weeks. The project ran about 35k, was finished quickly and looks great. I will say this - Terry was not on the site all day, but stopped by each night to inspect the work of his employees, as he had multiple jobs running. I was dissatisfied with a few welds, and he redid them. He has been responsive, answers his phone, and calls back promptly. I've worked with 2 other companies in my time in the region, and while I have no further need, I would call Terry and Docks Unlimited for any other work I'd need done on my docks. I see that a few others had some issues with the company - I had similar negative experiences with other dock companies. Docks Unlimited would be my recommendation for any dock project. I believe that labor is tough to come by in the region during the summer. The key, to me, is trusting in the owner to ensure the job is done. Terry did that for me, and I'd recommend including him in the bidding process for any dock you'd need built.
Description of Work: Help with permitting, and was the winning bidder in my waterfront construction and dock project.
