Stephen M. Langlois

On October 26, 2012 I hired Stephen Langlois the owner of Gunn Carpentry & Design to put siding and new windows on my chicken coop. I gave him $580, half of the total amount, in advance for materials but he never came to complete the work. When I called him on November 7th, he said his mother was in the hospital and did not know when he would be able to come and do the work. He offered to return my $580 but has not done so. I called Stephen again on November 14th and left a message asking him when he would be sending my money back. After not hearing from him, I called him on November 16th. He did not answer his phone and his voicemail box was full so I could not leave another message. I tried calling him again on November 19th and he said that he had been busy and that he would send me a check by the end of the week. I have given him several opportunities to refund my money and he has not done so. I have even contacted the Better Business Bureau and they have tried to contact him but he has not responded. I have also filed a complaint with the attorney general's office and they have tried to contact him and have not received a response. I will be filing in small claims court and doing everything I can to get my money back. Save yourself a lot of frustration and DO NOT hire this man.
