Overall, this was a horrible experience. Policy is policy, but they wouldn't even give me a store credit. Last night, I worked with Jill, because Amy the manager wasn't there. Jill told me that "Nobody told you to come here to return this." . They said bottom line, I could not get any money back or store credit. I couldn't believe what was happening. I felt terrible, because the Complaint Department advised me to return to the store. However, the associates in the store were so unwilling to work with me. They never apologized, just made me feel completely unwelcome. At this point, I know I won't get my money back. But I want to ensure nobody else gets ripped off by this particular store. I want to do everything I can to stop people from shopping at this particular store because how they handle their return policy.
Description of Work: I purchased a Sony disc player for my husband's Christmas gift in September. According to their receipt, I had to return it by October 12, or I would not get my money back or a store credit. However, upon payment, the store associate told me I would be able to get a credit or money back as long as I had my store receipt. I told him it was a Christmas gift, and he assured me it would not be a problem returning the player. Christmas morning, my stepson opened the box to install it. However, he reminded us we already had a unit. Therefore, we put the box back together right away. On February 6, I went to the store, who opened the box. Everything was perfectly in place. I think they didn't trust that all the pieces were in there. After opening the box, they told me I couldn't get a credit or my money back. I was so angry with them and told them I would never buy anything from them again. The next morning on the phone, I spoke with Denise from the Best Buy's Customer Complaint Department. While she was helping me, we got disconnected. When I called back, I spoke to a gentleman who told me Denise sent me a copy of my receipt through email. I printed it, and was told that I could go back to the store to get the credit. I went back to the store for another failed attempt.
