Rescon Basement Solutions

It went great!!! Chris Brown & his crew were the utmost professionals in tackling a wet basement. I have to commend Axle and his crew on the work they did in my basement. They hit a few major stumbling blocks while digging the trench for the drainage system. But they were quick to resolve them and all work was completed on time... Fantastic job... Chris Brown and entire staff are top notch!!!!

I got estimates from several general contractors and one other basement refinishing system contractor. RESCON gave us the most for our money and I felt more comfortable hiring a company which specialized in basements. RESCON is a highly rated waterproofing company, but newer to the basement finishing business than their website implied. This led to some delays during our project when waterproofing emergencies pulled the crew away from our project. However, they have since hired staff dedicated to this end of the business so this will probably not recur. The quality of the work was very good and the employees were all pleasant to work with.

Maybe I misunderstood what the deal was, I thought it was for them to actually examine the whole basement but that is not what they did. I knew I had a wet basement and it would have been easier when I was selling my house to really talk some more about that but that is not their problem, it is probably mine. It was more expensive because I had more work done but it was in the range that I was planning to spend. I think the job that they did was fine. I guess I wish I would have had a little bit more information about my entire basement, not just the one section that they worked on. But, they are a very good company.

In November, 2012, we purchased an old house (1782) that had a bad musty smell in the basement. The basement was actually two basements, one old and one new with dirt between the two. In December 2012, I called Rescon and Bob Brewster came out to give me some ides. He suggested a large dehumidifier be placed in the old basement with a intake duct into the new basement. He also suggested covering all the dirt. In January 2013, Bob came with a two man team and they completed the work in approx. 4 hours. The basement now smells fresh and clean. The installation team was efficient and cleaned up after their work. The total cost was the same as the original estimate.

We had a large crack in the basement floor that had been neglected for some time and gradually widened. We were also anxious to have an assessment, re, any evidence of water damage, as there had been an episode of water in the basement when the house was first built. Rescon sent an estimator out quickly, and in fact made the first contact to set up an appointment after we purchased the deal. The estimator was prompt, courteous, friendly and very knowledgeable. He took his time and told us what our different options were and didn't pressure us. After looking at all of the options, we decided to have them bury the drainage pipes (there were 8 of them around the house!) as he suggested, to keep the water away from the foundation.When the workmen came they were prompt, pleasant, and did a great job, answering any questions we had. They filled the large crack, sealed around the interior walls, and completed the rest of the work. We were very happy with the experience and the results and would use them again!

I called several companies to get estimates for fixing the water infiltration issues in my basement. Rescon was the first to call back and was able to squeeze me in the same day, which was nice. Bob, the project manager, was friendly and spent a good amount of time explaining to me the issues as well as the different options for solving the water problem. He even came back a second time in order to clarify certain points which was appreciated. In the end, I went with just a sump pump. They dug the hole in my concrete floor and installed a pit liner, pump, and discharge piping for the agreed upon price. The installation appears to be of high quality and the tech cleaned up after himself. Concrete work was clean and neat and the patch around the sump hole looks good, as does the discharge piping that wraps around a corner and up and out the side of the foundation. The ground was frozen so they will be coming back in the spring to finish the install by burying the exterior piping. Their price was just in the middle of the other quotes I received. Another thing I liked was that Bob carried an ipad with him and used some web-based quote/order system to create and update the estimates on the fly and get them to me as a PDF via email. Which is a much nicer process than waiting for an estimate to be created after the fact or getting a carbon copy estimate. Overall a very positive experience and I would recommend Rescon to others.

I was expecting to get more specific results, ie root cause, but instead I got a general report of an unspecified causes but good advise on products that keep the basement dry.

Work was performed on the date and hours scheduled. After some discussion, placement of dehumidifier was agreed upon, and a satisfactory solution achieved. Large-area plastic sheet was terminated well, with a good seal around perimeter. The combination has resulted in a dryer basement, and elimination of allergic symptoms to previous mold condition.

They came when they said they would and completed the job in one day. Cleaned up after themselves. We had hardwood installed over the Tyroc. The installer commented on how nice a job rescon had done.

I bought an Angie's List deal for an estimate on basement waterproofing. The man who came by was knowledgeable and polite and proposed what sounded like a good solution for a reasonable cost. Unfortunately, it wasn't in our condo board's budget for now.

Terrific company! Everyone was professional and there work was flawless. Bob is a low pressure salesman who you can trust. We had three bids on the job and Rescon was the best in every aspect.

The job was a very simple maintenance of the sump pump. The rep. was courteous and prompt and cleaned up after he finished.

We had water problems in our basement for a long time and have over the years tried different solutions. However, as we have an older home, these "solutions" were short term solutions. . We found RESCON on Angie's list and they had excellent ratings. We called them and they responded very quickly. Chris came out and saw our basement and the problems we had with water. He suggested a workable solution, gave an estimate for the work, a time frame as to when the work could begin, and how long it would take. They came on the day they said they would, the work took exactly the amount of days they said it would, and the cost was exactly what Chris said it would be. Also, the workers were very courteous, they answered any questions that I had during the three days, and when they left, they cleaned up all the debris.

the dehumidifier that we obtained from another source. Our basement is no longer musty, and doesn't have a mold problem. It is more pleasant to be in. I liked that he didn't try to sell me something we didn't need, and gave me a definitive diagnosis of the musty odor /mold problem. I would recommend them to anyone.

Overall great service. I called and arranged an appointment to get a quote. He was prompt, answered all my questions, told me my options, and gave me a quote. The pump I wanted was back ordered so the install was delayed a little, but that did not concern me. On installation day, two individuals showed up right on time. They were very professional and did outstanding work. I could not be happier with how it looks. I have no doubt that when the rains come, I will be ready.

I liked them very much. The technician was great. He didn't try to sell me a lot of stuff. I did learn more about their service and I would probably call them again for a battery back-up.

The following week 2 men came out to install the sump pump and discharge lines. We had been warned that there might be some dust raised during the installation so we covered most things in the basement, but when they were through, there was only a little dust in the immediate area, and everything was left very clean. The 2 men worked for several hours, and when they were finished, they explained very clearly to me how the system worked. I will not know if this was the complete solution until we have another heavy rain, but if it is not, we would opt to have Rescon return to add further drainage.

Bob was up front with some of the challenges we may have been in for - including the possibility that we would need a partial drainage system installed in addtion to the sump pumps.We appreciated his candor and that he didn't try to oversell us from the beginning of the project. He also suggested a few other ideas for our basement we hadn't considered. Every interaction with the entire installation team was professional - they took the time to explain everything and made sure we were comfortable with the work performed. Very personable, great customer service. Highly recommend!

I got a few quotes and this provider came over for an estimate. The price seemed steep but I checked online to see if I got the kit myself to do it and the it was comparable. He gave me good info about the problem and the process to be followed. I remember the person being pleasant. I have had no problems with the work so far

The whole process, from intitial contact to finish went smoothly and professionally, in the time frame given and the start date agreed on. This is a first rate company and I recommend them every chance I get. It was money well spent to have a dry basement that can now be finished, expanding our living space immensely. Rescon Basement Solutions came to our home after we purchased a $49 "Big Deal" from Angie's List for a sump pump inspection. They were courteous and showed up on time. But that's about the only good thing I have to say. For my $49 I basically got a wildly inflated estimate to replace my existing sump pump. Their quote of $3,450 is roughly three times other estimates I've received. (This includes an estimate from a reputable, honest, high-quality plumber who's done work for us repeatedly -- so we're not talking shady, lowball quotes here.) When I said that this price seemed steep, they offered to knock $800 off the estimate if I didn't include a backup battery-operated pump. This "low" price of $2,650 is approximately five times other estimates I have received for similar work. We live in a wealthier town, so we're used to contractors who show up seeing dollar signs. But this was some of the worst price inflation I've experienced in my time living here. To add insult to injury, I even had to pay an extra $20 to replace a leaking check valve on my existing sump pump, which was the primary thing I'd wanted done when I purchased this "Big Deal."

Fine, I just wanted the annual service because I was moving in acouple weeks and wanted to make sure the pump was in good shape and the new owner would have someone to call if there were problems. The service guy came out with a sales guy who tried to sell me more products and services. Meanwhile they didn't really do and thing to my existing sump just looked at it and said it was ok.
